Here is a thread for all of you beginners and inexperienced Arena combatants wishing to take a bit out of your opponents. Make sure to check it out and learn the ways of Glorious Combat from neonangel the other half of the Arena Moderator team. He will be your guide in all Arena matters, helping you achieve that elusive 12 Wins Key!
Not everyone is a veteran, and even if you are it doesn't hurt to get some extra practice in. Be sure to head over to the Arena Simulator and test your current knowledge of card values and see how well you fare, with a little time and effort you too will be drafting those 12 Wins Key Decks!
Important!
Unlike Constructed, in the Arena cards and their overall mechanics have different values then they would in their Constructed format. While some cards might be bad in Constructed, in Arena they might be even more value than Legendaries. The decks you will see will indeed be very unorthodox and have a wider variety of cards than in Constructed, thus their true power might surprise you.
Card Potential
Value
This is the term used to describe an individual card's potential in the game. This potential can range anywhere from its flexibility or lack thereof, or general ability to trade up with most costly cards, either in power or mana, possibly both. Thus the higher the card is rank that better it is in a wide variety of situations. Some cards will be more valuable if certain conditions are met, which will be detailed in the Synergy portion of this thread.
Also, keep in mind some cards are "ranked"1 tier above the norm due to favorable possibilities/potential for increased value. While this is not a 100% certainty of happening, there is a strong likelihood they will get some potential additional value which would fall somewhere between their currently ranked tier and their norm which is usually 1 tier less. This pertains to those cards that are detailed in the Synergy portion of the thread.
Considerations
Please keep in mind this is individual card value. It doesn't cover any conditions such as; strategies, possible combos, or current/final Draft Mana Curves.
Tier System
Rank Analysis
I've divided cards into 6 individual ranks. Each rank consists of 1 letter to quickly help determine its "individual value". In most cases each of these cards rank will be instrumental in determining which is the best choice of the 3 cards you're given to choose from, whoever this does not mean its the best choice for you or your current deck/draft status. That is for you to decide.
The letters are S - F(S, A, B, C, D, F). S = Best, F= Worst.
As stated in the "value" portion of the thread, some cards are ranked usually 1 above their usual tier, do to potential values. Thus when looking at the guide please consider that each of the cards have a +1/-1 tier range on average from the current tier they are placed in, thus giving you the idea of how the cards are ranked and a general idea of their average/true potential value.

This pertains to those classes who are more keen gaining card advantage over opponents than others, thus increasing the value of some cards. I.E.Mountain Giant & Twilight Drake
Damage Synergy
This pertains to those classes who are more keen to taking damage on purpose and using their health as a resource, thus making Molten Giant increasingly valuable to draft. I.E. Druids, Hunters, Paladins, Rogues, Shamans, Warlocks, & Warriors.
Deathrattle Synergy
This pertains to Undertaker & Baron Rivendare which in conjunction with other minions with the "Deathrattle Ability" such as Harvest Golem, Loot Hoarder, Toshley, and many more can give you massive amounts of potential value in various situations/circumstances.
Discover Synergy
This pertains to cards like Jeweled Scarab & Tomb Spider which allow you to pick from 1 of 3 choices similar mechanic in Arena. There is a +25% or higher chance to find "Class Cards/LoE Cards" when you choose to play these cards and since they have specific search parameters such as "3 Cost, Beast, Deathrattle, Minion, Spell" you can use that to add more versatility and flexibility tailored to your current situation.
Dragon Synergy
This pertains to the minion sub category dragon that although has been added with the Blackrock Mountain Expansion. Certain cards gain additional value if you happen to draft more dragons to "proc" their effects for increased value or tempo. I.E Blackwing Corruptor, Blackwing Technician, Twilight Whelp, Dragon Consort, Rend Blackhand
This pertains to card with the Joust effect (a.k.a Reveal a minion from each deck) in which if you "curve up" with many high cost minions you can use the Joust to gain some increase advantages. I.E.The Skeleton Knight, Master Jouster, Gadgetzan Jouster
Mech Synergy
This pertains to the new archetype added by GvG and some of the possible combos allowing for additional value. Some cards have increased value or strength if you happen to have drafted more mechs than usual during your draft. E.I. Cogmaster, Mechwarper, Tinkertown Technician
Rush Synergy
This pertains to the all classes, but even more so with the Hunter class. Allows to up the timetable towards defeat much quicker when using Hero Power in conjunction with many rush minions. I.E.Argent Commander, Bluegill Warrior, King Krush.
Secret Synergy
This pertains to those classes who use an abundance of secrets in their core gameplay, thus extending/increasing the value of certain cards if used in conjunction with their many secrets. I.E.Eaglehorn Bow, Ethereal Arcanist, Kirin Tor Mage, & Secretkeeper
Shield Synergy
This pertains to the Warrior class since their ability gives them +2 Armor, thus making Shield Slam very valuable especially when used with Shield Block as well.
Spell Synergy
This pertains to those classes with an overabundance of cheap spells, thus making a few cards exponentially more valuable in accordance to the amount of low-cost spells drafted. I.E.Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Violet Teacher, & Wild Pyromancer
great post. Thanks for putting in the work, particularly the color coordination. I think the lists could be made better by ranking the cards within each subcategory. Similar to what trump does with his lists.
Adurin, this thread turned out to be a resounding success. I know the Hearthpwn community will appreciate the effort you put into making these lists. Job well done.

Adurin, this thread turned out to be a resounding success. I know the Hearthpwn community will appreciate the effort you put into making these lists. Job well done.
I don't quite see the purpose of separating commons and basic cards though. It mostly serves to increase the need of scrolling.
I think it's worth mentioning that Hunters have an excellent synergy for rushdown. You don't even mention Hunters in the class synergy thing, but the hero power plays a vital role in bringing enemies down before they take board control from you.
Lastly, looking at the Druid tier list:
- Faceless Manipulator is really not worth taking over Ancient of Lore or Ancient of War. Without cards like Ancient of War, there's little purpose to the Manipulator anyhow. I'd say at least reduce him to rank A, but I'd personally even argue B as Force of Nature, Sea Giant and Big Game Hunter are much better ways to wrestle back board control than the fairly passive Faceless Manipulator.
- Blood Knight is really not worth A rank either. He's way more situational than any of the other A rank cards.
- Molten Giant should be C rank. He's not as good as Faceless nor Blood Knight. The presence of Druid buffs doesn't make Molten Giant a better pick, as you ideally don't want any of the buffs as they're generally quite poor.
- Mind Control Tech is a situational play, where as all other A ranks barely so. I'd say rank B.
- In fact, there's a lot of questionable ranking in the rare list... Ancient Mage is absolutely not on par with those other pieces of trash nor is Coldlight Oracle. Knife Juggler deserves higher, I'd argue Gadgetzan Auctioneer should be lower. (too awkward to play often times, even with Druid spells I'd not say the draw power is significant enough). I'd say that Ravenholdt Assassin, Arcane Golem and Questing Adventurer should be lower as well. I think Demolisher should be higher, and rating Ancient Watcher as D isn't really quite accurate. He can be considered as such under certain deck conditions (mind you, as I said Druid buffs are preferably avoided, so in an ideal deck these conditions shouldn't be met) but 90% of the time, he's F.
- Power of the Wild isn't on par with the other S ranked cards. It's a great card with much versatility, but I'd not pick it over the other S ranks under most conditions.
- Oasis Snapjaw is not B rank. Again, you don't want the buffs, so this card under most circumstances isn't any better for Druid than for any other class. For that matter, your general rating appears to be C, but I'd argue he's a D. Too little damage for a 4 drop. For that matter, your general rating of Razorfen Hunter and Ironfur Grizzly is a D which I disagree with as well, C is more accurate. It's definitely a much more versatile card than say Reckless Rocketeer.
- Savage Roar isn't B. The card is a typical case of 'win harder', and doesn't help turn games around. It's at least a C, but personally I would be rather hesitant to drafting it unless it's in a pool of D or lower cards.
1. The reason for separating Commons from Basics is to have a visual divide between rarities, while it does create more scrolling as you say. Its a good way to see the ranks of both rarities individually to see strenght and weaknesses of each rarity in terms of card. 2. The reason hunter isn't on the "Synergy" section is because they have no "direct" interaction with other cards, thus they don't increase in value like the rest of the classes. The Druid amongst the other classes that take damage on purpose don't have a "direct" interaction, but a "semi-direct" interaction with a specific card thus the reason they are mentioned. All other classes have "direct" interactions with other cards to increase value in many ways, while the Hunter's 2 Damage to Hero power doesn't do anything at all to make your cards better in general. 3. I have taken your card ranking suggestions under consideration, if more feedback is submitted and other's feel the same way I will update the list in accordance to it.
Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated!

I can't do a list like Trump's because thats basically Plagiarism. Each of the cards are ranked according to: Class, Rarity. For better clarification and visual illustration. Also its more direct, since the tier lists are specific to their class. While some cards are just set to specific rankings, others have changed around according to which class they are in, and the potential they have to be better.

great post. Thanks for putting in the work, particularly the color coordination. I think the lists could be made better by ranking the cards within each subcategory. Similar to what trump does with his lists.
<3. Thank you for your hard work.
Adurin, this thread turned out to be a resounding success. I know the Hearthpwn community will appreciate the effort you put into making these lists. Job well done.
