Generally outclassed by Kabal Crystal Runner.
Great synergy with Ice Block
Like a faster shadow of naxx with no stealth
Currently he is not very viable because he is dependent on
1. Having a long-term secret in play, i.e. Ice Block
2. Being protected until he can snowball
3. There are currently no meta Mage decks that utilise both these elements other than Freeze Mage, but Freeze Mage is often fond of getting rid of their own minions through cards like Doomsayer.
Technically he doesn't need to snowball to get value; 5/5 for 4 that's also a threat is excellent value. As long as you play Mad Scientist with a few Secrets - including Ice Block, Bat had the right call with that - it's a strong enough 4-drop simply as board presence. If anything snowballing is of secondary worth; it would be better if it became 6/6 and didn't buff in the following turns, thus being faster and avoiding BGH range.
Innovation does not mean sticking a new card into an already popular deck.
Does this minion gain +2/+2 for each secret you control, or just once regardless of number of secrets?
If you control a secret you gain +2/+2. If you do not control a secret you do not gain +2/+2. There is no third option.
The game will say "for each" secret if it is for each secret. Example: http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/75-blood-knight
