Scholomance Academy: Card List, Release Date, & Expansion Details

Hearthstone's 2nd expansion in the Year of the Phoenix is Scholomance Academy! The expansion launched on Thursday, August 6th.

Greetings, aspiring adept! We’re thrilled to welcome you to Scholomance Academy! Within the lofty halls of this fabled magic college, the (mostly) good Headmaster Kel’Thuzad and the rest of our faculty are here to guide the next generation of greats, from Warlocks to Warriors and everything between. We encourage the pursuit of double majors and offer a plethora of cross-over studies. Whatever flavor of major you favor, Scholomance has the training grounds to suit your needs!

Scholomance Academy marks the beginning of Phase Two for the Year of the Phoenix. In addition to the usual balance changes, Battlegrounds updates, and Seasonal Events -- Phase Two will also include a Solo Adventure and an all new Game Mode (to be announced at a later date)!

Scholomance Academy Release Date

Scholomance Academy released on Thursday, August 6th , at 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 19:00 CEST/ 18:00 BST, with FREE PvE content to follow (details still to come)!

Expansion Info

Dual Class Cards - Cards featuring mechanics inspired by both classes' strengths. The set will include 40 Dual Class cards.
New Keyword: Spellburst - A one time only effect when casting a spell. With a Spellburst minion or weapon in play, casting a spell will activate the Spellburst effect.
Studies - Spells which allow you to immediately Discover a card and also reduce the mana cost of the next card you play of that type.
The expansion will contain 135 new cards!

All players receive two free copies of Transfer Student -- a Neutral Epic minion available 7/14/20.
PvE content for this expansion will be FREE. Details to follow later.

Guys, with the new Blizzard rules of not opening more of two copies of the same card, it is significantly easier to get all common and rare cards in a set, along with decent epics and legendaries. Check out this card pack opening 25 scholomance academy packs, and guess how many legendaries were in the 25 packs!

BTW, this is called a card set, NOT an expansion. Calling it an expansion is incorrect and there are two reasons why: one, you can play these cards without HS's first ever card set (Classic) and two, Blizzard copies the Pokémon TCG by making cards unplayable after a while, since they remove 4 packets from Standard every year (and now they are copying League of Legend and Runeterra with the ranking system, which that is irrelevant to this). The only thing that IS an expansion on HS are the Adventures.

PS the people who downvoted my other comment don't know what expansions or card lists are.

I don´t get a legendary card in my first 10 packs. I opened frist my 5 golden packs and was not lucky. Then i opened 5 normal packs and don´t get a legendary card. I think the golden packs do not count for the guaranteed legendary on the first 10 packs of an expansion....

Got so many legendaries in the first 25 packs I opened. Usually, it is a 2% chance to open a legendary. My 25 pack opening had a 16% chance to open a legendary. Here is the video:

BTW, Blizzard is the one that labels it as an expansion. Thus, a different forum for your complaint would probably be better. It is also most definitely an expansion because it expands onto the game. An expansion is "the action of becoming larger or more extensive." Not to mention that with this expansion/phase comes a new set of cards (Scholomance Academy), a scholomance academy solo adventure, balance updates, and a new game mode. Seems quite "expansive" to me.

It's called a card set (in all actuality) and not an expansion. It does not make sense to call it an "expansion" and people in real life card games call them "sets". I already explained, logically, why calling them an "expansion" makes no sense. But it's your choice if you want to stay braindead (with the people who downvoted the comment).

The only things which are logically expansions are the Adventures. The cards are basically from "sets" and called card sets, NOT expansions. As mentioned before, an expansion is a thing which can only be played with the core game and not on its own and these cards can definitely be played without the core set (being Classic). But apparently I am making far too much sense for you.

Why didn't Paladin get a new Libram? I understand it's part of the previous expansion, but this is about an Academy. Librams belong there.

AHOY!

As a Cap'n that sails the Wild mode seas, i shall say this new pillage of cards only flaw is presenting no new pirates to join our crew.

Althought the booty of new weapons will be most welcome to our pillage. We may see pirate demon hunter plundering around with their new cutlass very soon, the winds os change are welcome to the wild seas. FELFIRE THE CANNONS!
