Cult Master
This card is why this card never sees play..
This thing is my favorite drop from murloc knight, tied with Finja. Another Murloc knight is a close second, with warleader in third.
the new paladin 3/3 that gives divine shied to 1 health minions actually buffs murloc knight a little bit, considering 5 murlocs have 1 health. bluegill warrior is especially powerful in this situation because it has charge, and tidehunter counts as two dudes
Okay so apparently the majority of people can't seem to understand the point of Siltfin Spiritwalker or the point of Neptulon. These cards could be used in 2 different way: the first way is in a murloc shaman deck which would work rather well since the biggest weakness of both shaman decks and murloc decks is the lack of card draw so by combining the 2 and adding a card that provides the potential for a lot of card draw it could prove to be a deadly new aggro combination. The second way that they could be used is that Neptulon could be used a just a large minion drop that has the added bonus of giving you 4 free minions. The fact that the 4 minions are limited to only murlocs is a huge bonus because it means that there is a card pool of 11 or 12 (depending on if the murloc scout token is included) cards that they are drawn from: Old Murk-Eye, Murloc Warleader, Coldlight Oracle, Coldlight Seer, Murloc Tidecaller, Bluegill Warrior, Grimscale Oracle, Murloc Tidehunter, Murloc Raider, Siltfin Spiritwalker, Puddlestomper, and possibly Murloc Scout. You are getting 4 of this minions. 2 of them have the potential to draw cards, 3 of them can buff the other ones, 1 of them can act as a small removal (which can become a much large removal if paired with a attack buffing murloc), 1 of them can buff itself to become at least a 1 mana 4/2, and 1 of them can act as a potential finisher especial when paired with murloc tide hunter, grimscale oracle, or murloc warleader. The amount of potential that is card has is insane when you start thinking about how unlikely it is that you will end up without any potential synergy. Even if worst comes to worst, you still end up with a 7/7 body and four 1 mana 2/1 minions.
I can't really see why anyone is upset about either of these cards. I think that at the very least Neptulon could become a staple in shaman decks.
(Also since murlocs are mostly low mana minions they can be very useful for flooding the board in preparation for bloodlust.)
I don't think that you understand the fact that this is a bad card. Neptulon I know is a good card for what your getting alone even if the deck is or isnt murlocs; this card though is terrible based on the fact that Murlocs must be played fast let alone the vanilla stats for a 5 mana creature are terrible.
Edit: I want Murloc shamans to work but this card does not help with it maybe if this had good stats or costs 4 mana who knows. Neptulon is fine though. Also why is this an epic?
9 months later. Hilarious wrong analysis. It's simply a bad card. It'll never see use and will probably fade into obscurity.
I love the fact how you people try so desperately to cling onto the hope that these terrible cards will one day see use and it never happens. So much theory crafting. So useless.
You down vote people with sensible comments that this card just sucks. Then reality hits you square in the face as the meta crushes you dreams of this card ever becoming useable.
And now this card is very usable in Wild with Murloc Shaman. Don't act like an elitist.
You thought you were so right, and now look.
And it's likely to be even more playable in Un'Goro because Megafin gives Murloc decks a lot of extra reach.
An epic? Blizzard you wasted an epic on an buffed up cult master? The head of hearthstone must hate shamans for some reason.
hmm, slow murlocs? i wonder if that'll work?
You guys wanted card draw? Well now you play Murlocs.
9 months later. It's funny because all these fanboys clear out after it's clear the card is crap and no one will ever use it.
Because they wanted to fuck shamans. Seriously they need draw not a damn murloc only deck that has draw. I dont get why blizzard did this ):
What shamans needed was healing to help control shamans live long enough to actually use MTT. And that's exactly what we got with the new totem, so stop complaining.
Agreed, murlock Shaman decks don't work now and they won't work on the 8th
Stop complaining? They got one card that heals with 3 health.. Not going to cure everything the murloc cards are kinda shitty if your not looking to make a murloc deck. so...
It's 2 mana for a minimum healing of 7, which will definitely help make control shaman viable. Not to mention that mechs are great for any midrange decks, and shaman got some great synergy in Powermace. And shamans even got a minion which has vanilla 2-mana stats, a minion type, AND windfury for only 2 mana.
