Why does a forgotten torch turn into a roaring torch with no provocation? It's one of life's many mysteries.
I remember that this card was a pain in ass so Blizzard removed it from arena draft. But I miss it in Standard.
Roaring Torch counts for Open the Waygate, which is pretty neat.

Regardless of whether this would rotate out or not, with Ice Lance going away freeze mage will be a dead archetype either way.
Love this card. I know it's probably a waste of dust but I crafted a golden version...the art is just too awesome to pass up and you get two golden cards (Roaring Torch) for the price of one!
This card along with tunnel trogg ruined the game by pushing the worst aspects of Hearthstone, true aggro and otk combo decks.

Frostbolt is very valuable. Being able to use this and save a Frostbolt is huge. The extra card to draw is largely irrevant and can be a boon in fatigue match ups (and you can control when you put it in your deck). I often use Fireball over Frostbolt because of Frostbolts synergy with Antonidas and Ice Lance. It's nice to have something else to use for Jugglers and such.
It also has the potential to generate 2 Fireballs via Antonidas (which means 1 spell can make 18 extra dmg instead of 6).
Its lower mana cost makes it easier to squeeze in (especially with Thaursan reductions) which can in turn mean an extra Fireball via Tony that Pyroblast almost never generates. It also does Frostbolt - IL - Fireball - Torch (either one) for 10 mana with no reductions which neither Pyro nor Fireball can do.
You can also cast it with Flamestrike (Or Blizzard. Or Frost Nova / Doomsayers). It let me kill a dmgd Highmane and clear the hyenas in the same turn.
Torch is incredibly Flexible in Freeze Mage. Pyroblast is the definition of clunky. (I wouldn't use 2 Forgotten Torches tho--then it does start to become clunky :p)

I think this card should works perfectly in frost mage deck.
People are overestimating this card's value for classic freeze mage, shuffling a card back into deck slows your overall strategy, it takes longer to draw into your key combo cards, also too slow for tempo mage.
This card is actually meant for mage decks whose primary strategies DO NOT rely on damage spells, cuz you can take out 1x frostbolt and 1x fireball for 1 copy of this without a huge drop in utility, giving you an extra card slot to work towards your strategy! Mage decks playing 2 copies of this instead of frostbolts and fireballs are effectively playing with a 32-card deck.
Grinder Mage, Dragon Mage, Echo Giant Mage, Fatigue etc, those are the decks this card is meant to be played at, and thats amazing. freeze mage will still play this in the reno jackson version, but classic freeze mage wont.
