Murder at Castle Nathria: Card List, Release Date, & Expansion Details
Hearthstone's second expansion in the Year of the Hydra is Murder at Castle Nathria! The release date for the expansion is Tuesday, August 2nd most likely at 10am PST/ 1pm EST/ 19:00 CEST/ 18:00 BST.
The Shadowlands is normally where souls go after they die, so when someone dies in the Shadowlands, that’s a special kind of mystery. Sire Denathrius invited 10 of his counterparts and enemies to Castle Nathria for a dinner party so that he could address the malicious rumors that he is hoarding anima, the life-energy that is drained from tortured souls and used to power the Shadowlands. But just after the festivities started, Sire Denathrius was found dead! It seems a gaggle of enemies does not a good dinner party make. Now the illustrious Murloc Holmes, and his trusty sidekick Watfin, have been called to solve the case. Scour new Location cards, follow the trail of Infused minions, question the 10 Legendary suspects, and help determine who committed Murder at Castle Nathria!
Expansion Info
- Ten Suspects - Sire Denathrius had a lot of enemies. And it just so happens that 10 of them were under his roof at the time of his demise! The Cinematics
Missed opportunity Blizzard to create a Dr. Watfin card as well. Boooo!
do I have the time wrong, or is this an hour late now? still no sign of patch.
If Sire Denathrius wasn't already unbelievably annoying and people have been asking for a nerf a ton of times, Blizzard thought you know what, we will bring Afterlife Attendant and buff it even more.
You have to be kidding me...
You do realize this will never live past turn 3 and that it's only good specifically when you've board, right? This kind of cards probed to be bad historically. If it costed 1 mana we'd be talking maybe, but at 3 mana, impossible.
Nathaniel is looking super-busted. I imagine Big Beast decks will do a rework to get the most from it (and minimise bad rolls)
Discover a Deathrattle card, play it's death rattle and add effect to the minion, that's crazy man. I think a lot of people don't realise you actually get a copy of the Death rattle card as well (this was confirmed by Zeddy who in turn confirmed it with Blizzard)
Might even just have to cut batty Guest as well and will slot right into most decks... will have to see though, it might not work great with Rat King as well.
Overall I'm really excited for all these cards, some great effects and general tools for all classes. I am a little worried with all the new disruption stuff though... getting "Theo'd" when playing one of the lower tier decks is not a good feeling. Loosing a powerful card in a warrior or paladin deck often is enough to force a concede.
I guess this is the price we pay to have hyper over-powered cards like Jailer and Sire-D in the game.
I just realized what card I would've like to be added in the game for Priest: a minion that says "add a random Shadow spell to your hand".
Will we be able to open our pre-purchased cards before the expansion comes out Aug. 8th?
I believe if you play at a Fireside Gathering, they let you open your card packs early. But also the expansion is out on August 2nd so you don't have to wait until the 8th anyway lol
After watching the Theorycrafting Streamings:
- Relic DH is meme, Deathrattle DH bad, Evolve Shaman bad, Wildseed Hunter ok, Rogue ok, 0 Paladin and 0 Druid
The only strong decks are Skeleton Mage, Implock, and Enrage Warrior.
Overall, boring expansion that brings very little to the table. 4/10.
Stop hyping
So, do you feel like a 10 years old being told off by your parents for having fun?
The funniest thing here is that you somehow managed to completely misjudge which decks people believe will be strong in the new expansion.
Of the three decks you say will be strong, only Implock is one that pro players who have participated in the theorycrafting stream believe will be good. Skeleton Mage and Enrage Warrior are both seen as memes and very weak (Warrior especially is seen as potentially the weakest class this expansion), whereas the other strong decks seem to be Miracle Rogue, Wildseed Hunter, Agro DH and Tempo Priest, with some potential for a good ramp druid with Denathrius.
Not all of that might be accurate (we'll see in a few hours), but everything you said was just completely wrong.
Dear "StormwindDisappointing", already a stupid name:
1. You were and are objectively completely wrong about the deck placements, so first of all what the hell is up with that in the first place?! You can't be spreading around misinformation like that man! :D 'Tis not healthy!
2. Who hurt you?
Ty for boosting my end turn decks three expansions in a row and also Tome tampering is absolutelly NUTS!!
sooo where are the deathrattle druid cards? Was the location really printed just with legendary?
This is the equivalent of thinking battlecry needs its own deck archetype.
Will there be a reveal stream showing the rest of the cards?
I doubt it. Unless they come up with more support for the archetype I don't see it happening. There are not so many minions that can go wide and create a solid board.
Isn't it funny how they are holding off on the Druid reveals till the end because they want as many preorders as possible. They know once they reveal their pet classes new busted deck people will not want to buy the set because we are sicka nd tired of Druid always being the best class in game. Really want to see druid as a dumpster fire class for 2 or 3 years.
Exactly! The devs just like malfurion so much that they deliberately try to ruin their own game and risk losing their jobs in order to make him appear as the ultimate character from WC3 and WOW. No way that they're just having difficulties with balancing a class with mana ramping as his core strength.
