Fractured in Alterac Valley: Horde or Alliance?
Fractured in Alterac Valley: Horde or Alliance? Which side will you be on? Hearthstone's newest expansion will have players pick between the iconic factions from World of Warcraft. Joining the Horde will instantly grant players Golden Drek'Thar, of the Frostwolf clan. Players who choose Alliance obtain Golden Vanndar Stormpike, leader of the Stormpike Dwarves.
From December 7th to January 11th players will be tasked with earning Honor to achieve ultimate victory for their chosen faction. Honor can be gained in Traditional, Arena, and Duels Modes. As Honor is gained, you'll progress through a Legendary Quest chain that rewards cards from the expansion (rewards to be announced at a later date).
So Horde or Alliance which is better? All players will receive the same total end rewards, including a Golden copy of the enemy's faction leader, so just pick the faction that speaks to you most or the card you like to play with most!
At the end of the event, all Honor points will be tallied and all players will receive a Diamond copy of the winning faction's leader -- to be forever enshrined in Hearthstone lore!
- Honor points are earned by playing and winning during the event:
- 10 Honor for every game played
- 10 more Honor for every game won (20 total)
- 20 more Honor for every game won versus an opponent from the enemy faction (40 total)

Game Board
The Cinematics
They missed an opportunity to print a card like:
"Alterac Campfire", 1 mana 0/3. Your minions cant be frozen. Restore 2 health to friendly characters at the end of the turn.
With all the freeze effects in the new set it's (potentially) going to be pretty frustrating to have board after board of minions stuck doing nothing and a card like this would provide some tech options if it became oppresive (but probably wouldn't see much play otherwise). It would also provide some synergy with the frozen Mammoth for non-frost spell containing classes (and the shaman spell).
Well one, there's still the mini-set. Two, we have a no freeze minion. Three, if this were to be made I would make it for adjacent minions since to get unfrozen you would need to be close to the campfire.
I like that idea about adjacent minions - really fits the theme! As for point number 2 - do you mean Living Dragonbreath because that's not in standard anymore I don't think.
As for the mini-set - I personally don't think Blizz should use it to introduce cards deliberately designed to shift the meta; much better (imo) to include some sort of balance in the original expansion release and tweak cards which are overperforming. The mini-set should just be some new cards and the players should be the ones creating the meta.
I think thats one of the real disappointments with HS for me over the last few years. By and large the viable decks are basically designed by the HS devs by introducing obvious, powerful synergies. The quests are a prime example of this, no minion mage and corrupt were basically similar (albeit much lower power). As much as I hated Zephrys, the highlander decks really made for some creativity and variation i deck design and game play.
Can anyone buy it from android? When I try to login on mobile game crashed?
So the all powerful rogue hero is just a significantly worse version of what Vanish used to be?
Not a single Overload, Totem, or Murloc card for Shaman... and no Nature spells....
Frost frost baby~!
Warlock got the weakest set, but at least Shaman looks promising.
There're a lot of amputated synergies here but also some cool new things and the Hero cards will have some impact at least :)
My fast set review
https://youtu.be/A-rZMHDTQOQ
Deathrattle synergy for rogue yet no new Deathrattle… why? Even for neutrals there’s only like, 1 new Deathrattle minion that could maybe fit into the list and that’s popsicooler, but likely won’t make the cut anyway. Rogue’s new Deathrattle is… a maybe good Deathrattle from another class. Great.
I should add that if Korrak +shifty information interaction actually summons a korrak, then dr rogue has a chance, but that’s pretty much the only way
Damn, Warlock actually for once got shit cards in expansion (except for Hero card of course)
Feels that way for Rogue too. Good Hero card, pretty much everything else is pushing for a meme archetype. Some promising Deathrattle synergy but no good deathrattles to use it with.
Warlock usually gets shitty sets, the good ones are actually rare exceptions. This one goes back to the roots after pretty solid United in Stormwind and Forged in the Barrens, which gave Warlock some viable and playable cards.
Now everything depends on Quest Lock, if he fails to stay relevant in the incoming meta, Warlock will be busted for couple weeks (again)...
The powercreep of this expansion is very noticeable kinda makes me wonder why they even bothered reworking the basic set at start of the year because 90% of it probably won't see play when this expansion goes live. But ah well lot of interesting concepts to test with these new cards.
Actually Whispers of the Old Gods has some sort of singing. Way more subtle than usual, but everything Lazul said rhymed and had a sort of metric.
Hearthstone had really few non-singing trailers, and those were some of the weakest imo: Un'Goro, Barrens, Frozen Throne (yeah, I said it, you can't just slap Arthas My Son to something and call it a day), vanilla, and we could argue about Blackrock and Naxxramas (and the first Outlands trailer).
Meanwhile we have bangers like League of Evil, Saviors of Uldum, GAdgetzan, Karazhan, Kobolds and Catacombs, Trial by Felfire, League of Explorers, Rastakhan Rumble and Descent of Dragons.
Actually the only trailer that I remember it was great and had no singing was Wizard Duels.
If they don't release more SI:7 cards I will be really sad... :(
I throw it like this: I predict that the warrior will have a new spell that doubles the armor points earned by each source. Last 3 turns.
Just want to say thanks to whoever is adding the cards so quick on this page :) you're the bomb
