New Keyword: Recruit
Cards with the Recruit keyword immediately summon minions from your deck and put them into play. Some cards recruit minions that match certain conditions; others recruit randomly chosen minions.
Spellstones
Spellstones are a new type of card which can be upgraded during play! Once you fulfill a listed condition, such as playing two Elemental minions, the card upgrades into a more powerful version.
Unidentified Items
Unidentified Items are cards which when put into your deck don't have a predetermined effect. When the card is put into your hand, the effect of the card will become known. Each item has its own pool of effects that it can randomly choose from.
New Cards
So far, 135 cards have been revealed out of 135.

It's great for F2p players when neutral cards are strong. It allows you to play multiple decks with them (and plus epics are cheaper than crafting loads of class legendaries if you want to play more than 1 deck).
Razadragonpriest Dk combo at the end of the catacomb tunnel.Fear those who wield it.
so far so good
a lot of card seems fun and creative
they have a ball to design such a meme stuff
Not some seriuos OP shi+in tFT
Put your spoiler here.
I only could ted 6 cards that have uncontrollable RNG affects, I did not count recruit cards because you can control the randomnes by building your deck right. But aside from the RNG cards this expansion has offered a lot of interesting cards, with fun debuilding skills required. So I think this expansion will be great.
I want an expansion with skeleton themed cards
The deckbuilding argument is actually somewhat complicating since, yes, you can put only high cost untargeted spells in your deck for Spiteful Summoner or Grand Archivist but it's unclear how good that type of deck will be since you'll have a really high curve as a result with no early removals.
I'm not quite sure why I took the time to count this, but these are the amount of cards with random effects per set.
Basic: 6 / 133 (5%)
Expert: 18 / 245 (7%)
Kobolds (released so far): 17 / 44 (39%)
Give or take a few, but you get the idea. Plus the fact that many of those other 27 are pretty meme worthy as well. Seems like Blizz is betting their money on Memestone. So long for Hearthstone's chances at becoming an E-sport.
i count 3 or 4 truly random effects and maybe 10 more cards that highly incentivize you to build your decks a certain way by using controlled RNG effects like recruit and spell-joust. Even Grand Archivist could easily be considered a deckbuilding card. the problem with Blizzard not printing random effects is that games get stale for their casual audience. it's also just a big part of the whimsical Hearthstone experience. If you actually look at the cards and their effects, you realize that the biggest problem with the game in recent times, early game stat-based RNG, just isn't there in this set. Wandering Monster and Raven Familiar are the only 2 drop random effects and while you can highroll a Giant Wasp/Emperor Cobra or lowroll a Pantry Spider, the reason you play Wandering Monster is for lategame healing. You're not going to be playing it turn 2 as a tempo play, you're going to play it turn 8 against a lich king to heal for 8. Same with Raven Familiar, you're jousting with spells, meaning you want the biggest, most late-game spell you can possibly get, which incentivizes you to build your deck that way. The 2 mana 2/2 isn't exactly the most threatening body early, so you play it for the late-game draw. Even the unidentified items are easy enough to play around as they only have random secondary effects. In short, turn 5 is the earliest point where game-changing RNG can come into effect. so you always have time to play around it. The meta has been stale as all hell for the past few months, and I for one am glad to see some new effects that can create swing turns back and forth. Everybody seems to forget that to be e-sports, not only does your game need to be competitive, but it also needs to be enjoyable to watch. Hearthstone has not been since Un'goro, and it looks like that's going to change.
This Expansion will reward good deckbuilding
No, lowrankies and noobs netdeck. Decks don't just grow on hearthpwn, there are actually good players who make the decks and then share them. So yes, this expansion will reward good deckbuilding done by good deckbuilders.
I hope they actually give us some worthwhile demons this time.
I'm not getting my hopes up. We had it too good in KFT. Even without using the discard mechanic, I'm sure they've cooked up all sorts of ways to make the warlock cards suck. (See: Rin.)
I kinda appreciate the amount of meme cards in this expansion. It makes up for all the must-have meta cards from the last expansion and allows people to save some dust
People only accept positive feedback here in comments lmao. Duskbreaker and dustspear says it all. Peace.
Not seeing many trolls - I bet they're holding them back for one of next year's 3 expansions. Zul'aman or something.
This expansion has my favourite theme so far
Memestone is why this game is fun to watch and still has a strong viewings on Twitch. Compared to Overwatch which hardly anyone is watching anymore.
bit of an RNG highroll fiesta so far
