Shaman still being paying for the sins of Midrange Shaman I see.
What? How? No other class has a 2 mana deal 8 spell, it's very good.
It's 5 mana counting the overload which is worse than Assassinate, a card that doesn't see play. The overload cards that have seen play either affected the board in a big way, e.g Volcano, Elemental Destruction, Lightning Storm, or they were face cards e.g Crackle, Feral Spirit, and 4 mana 7/7. And the latter were mainly great because of Tunnel Trogg.

That's not really how overload works though. The fact that it is 2 mana when you play it means you have more mana left over to do other stuff on the same turn. If you use this on turn 5 you still have 3 mana you can use to bring out a minion or use another spell. Overload provides flexibility at the cost of having less mana the turn after. This card also has synergies with other Shaman cards because it overloads, making it much much better than "just 5 mana" and Assassinate. In other words, you're dumb.

"I don't agree with you, so therefore that makes you dumb" Please enlighten me what viable Shaman deck this fits in? Also what 'Overload 3' card has seen competitive play? Only Earth Elemental has on occasions and it was never even close to one of the best decks.

In wild could be played in some control shaman builds. It kills most thing that could be on the board during early and mid game.
