Overload is more valuable than playing the cost upfront so that you can create a swing turn and play this along with other things. Plus possible overload synergy.

It's not 5 mana though, it's 2(+3).

I know that seems.... pedantic? but the main difference is that you can cast one of those on the same turn as Al'Akir the Windlord to clear a taunt and the other you can't.
