thanks Wandering Monster
I had a game against Odd Paladin where this happened, and was able to coin out Deathstalker Rexxar to sweep five or so Silver Hand Recruit before he could Level Up!. The Paladin conceded. :D
Will it give excess mana card on 10 mana?
My thoughts about this card:
Keep in mind that even though it's effect is deathrattle, the opponent will more than likely want to remove it, lest you remove his own creatures. It is easily ping-able, however if you're running this, you more than likely care more about the bigger cards than a 3/1.
On the topic of which would be better, this or Mire Keeper, I'd say it depends on two things: how the meta changes, and how fast you need the mana. Meta-wise, it's currently not that good due to a surplus of Prince of Persia rouges. Against them, druid, mage, and evolve shaman, the opponent will easily be able to get rid of them.
A single turn with extra mana may be a huge difference (say, Nourish or Druid of the Claw. For all we know, decks could probably run both for excessively fast mana gain, and then top it off with excessive card draw.
Lastly, if your deck is the type that needs consistent early mana gain, this is for you.
Prefer seeing ramp cards like this. It doesn't have much of a body, which is fine--ya want to pop this thing and slam your big boys quickly. Pretty sure it provides excess mana (correct me if I'm wrong). You can actually interact with this type of ramp instead of just watching the good ol' wild growth, jade blossom, into mire keeper/nourish. You can hit him with a silence, transform, or even steal him away, but what soul would deny this little guy his crystal?
For when only the greediest of cards will suffice.
realy good
I like that 3 attack, perfectly dodged potion of madness! Solid deathrattle card, just not sure if the effect comes with excessive mana.
His real name is: "Rotate out" and you will like it!
Great card for future ramp druid. By "great" I mean good but not OP AF.
I don;t know if this is necessarily better than Mire Keeper because it's a deathrattle, not a battlecry, and doesn't give you the additional option to summon a 2/2 but this will definitly take its place once it rotates out of Standard.
I think it's better than Mire Keeper in the fact that Keeper costs 4 mana which is a VERY crowded slot for Druids, and 3 drops are pretty light for ramp decks. This is a very welcome replacement for Jade Blossom for non-Jade strategies. The Battlecry versus Deathrattle argument is definitely real, but it really hurts to wait for a Keeper if you don't have any prior ramp.
THis card is bad because you can't do anything with it when you have ten mana. For me that makes it worse than mire keeper, wild growth, and jade blossom (in a jade deck).
The card has nearly no value on turn 9 & 10...
maybe better than jade blossom if you don't run jades, mire keeper is a 4 mana 5/5 in the late game (after you got 10 mana) while this is 3 mana 3/1 that does nothing, and getting an understated minion from a tempo card doesn't really look good, sorry
in big druid you run 2 jade blossoms for ramp, so a 1/1 and a 2/2, isn't two 3/1's better? full stop
He's adorable, so I'll use him in my deck.
Will see more play when Mire Keeper and Jade Blossom rotate out in April 2018.
Also good with Oaken Summons in Big Druid.
Shadow Madness is still a thing
id play it if it were a mana rager 3 mana 5/1 deathrattle det an empty mana crystal.
