How would I do the monetization (assuming cosmetics are not enough)?
When you start you get 1 hero, no selection at all. At X rating you get your second hero. At Y rating you get your third hero. At Z rating you get your fourth hero. Alternatively, you buy the pass and get 4 heroes immediately
Still P2Winish, but not a strict P2W and more like pay to not grind.

If there is enough outcry, I could definitely see them going something like this route, especially since they already say in the blog:
“Purchasing the Season Pass will also immediately unlock the option to choose from two additional heroes at the start of each game.”
See? They have the language all ready to go…

This is indeed disappointing, Call me a cynic, but I'm predicting this will follow the usual pattern:
Step 1: Release news that adds monetization to a beloved game/feature or new game (e.g. Marvel Snap) that is bound to be taken poorly by the community
Step 2: Amid the outcry, back away from the initial news, maybe even throw out a half-assed apology
Step 3: Release the "compromise" that gets you what you really wanted/expected anyway and tries to make you look like the good guy for listening to the community
I'm guessing Step 3 in this case will be allowing the 2 extra hero choices to be eventually bought with Hearthstone gold, or maybe a compromise of offering 3 choices to everyone but 4 to the Season Pass holders. The way this stands now will kill the casual player pool for BG.

Fun deck! Zola the Gorgon onto a 0-cost Shirvallah, the Tiger can help you rapidly flood the board. This is my kind of paladin!

Chuck Norris, is that you???

Nice deck! I got the quest to play 15 demons today, and this deck easily reached it in 3 games. It can hold its own against aggro and control... I happened to win all 3 games in this small sample size, but I was admittedly at pretty high ranks. I did switch out one Flame Imp for Mal'Ganis, and that definitely helped when I played a murlocadin that was trying to rush me down.

I normally don't complain, but I really didn't like this one either. It seems to me the player going second has an advantage (they are the first to get the taunt minion). Small sample size, but the first four games I went first and got my butt handed to me. The fifth game I went second and won handily.

Should give the ladies equal time at least. Snake Trap, anyone?

Your point about card draw is a good one. I just had what I thought to be the best Mage draft ever - multiple Fireball, Flamestrike, Polymorph, etc.... pretty much a dream deck. Except I found myself blowing out early and praying for a top deck. I went 6-3 but, in better hands, it probably would have went much further. And if I had an Arcane Intellect or two, things might have been vastly different.
One thing you should be happy about is your rewards. I believe you have 2 legendaries in 14 runs now? I have done many more runs than that over the last year, and I cant remember the last time I have pulled a legendary.
I appreciate you keeping up with this thread. It's fun to follow along with the ups and downs all of us experience in the arena.

Like hintM mentioned, rogue decks have the ability to surprise and go far without having obviously awesome cards. I am in the midst of a run now where I had what I figured to be a pretty average draft. A couple of Eviscerates a couple of Deadly Poisons and not a whole lot else. No legendaries, no Backstabs and no Assassinates. I'm currently 8-1, and having a lot of fun playing the deck. The trick with rogue is to use your weapons to keep the enemy minions off the board as long as you can, but know when it is no longer safe to trade your own health to do so.
One card that I've been absolutely loving is Dark Iron Skulker. In arena, it's awesome to have what essentially amounts to a free Consecration. You pulled one as well, and I'm betting you will find it extremely helpful. At least 2 of my wins in this run can be directly attributed to putting him on the board around turn 5 and wiping out several enemy minions in one shot. Good luck!
P.S.: Here's my current run if you want to have a look: http://www.heartharena.com/arena-run/4994hs
Edit: right on cue, I lost the next 2 arena match ups, going 8-3, proving hintM was right - you can only go so far with an average rouge deck.

on a quick look, it seems like you did pretty well with what you had to work with. What jumps out is the Reincarnate pick at #17. You don't have enough deathrattle minions to really make it worthwhile, so it will likely be a dead card. Pray for your Piloted Shredder or use it to "heal" a wounded minion. Good luck!
