Dalaran Mage for 1 mana cheaper which isn't bad. 4 Health at turn 2 is far more difficult to answer than at turn one so I'd put this at somewhere between Kobold Geomancer and Bloodmage Thalnos in power level. But yeah, 2nd form is bad. Probably same power level as Tainted Zealot

Every other turn with defile...this card is a monster for control warlock.

Remember when Dalaran Mage had to be nerfed down one attack because it was seeing too much play

Yeah, that first "f" in Spellshifter looked like a "t" to me the first time I looked at it. COMPLETELY changed my perception of the card.

I can't see this one as any other thing than pack filler. But the concept is quite interesting. Maybe with priest legendary that would make it 4/4 it would be good but Lady played on 6 won't be meaningful for 2 drop ;/

this is literally Dalaran mage with the option to be a 4/1 and one less mana, it's okay but it ends up bing countered my classes that can deal 1 damage BUT it can just flip and be a 1/4 which is awesome but... if you draw this in your opening hand it's not gonna be a 1/4 on turn 2.

spell damage never been to intimiating unless it was stated the way Mally is, in the end this is almost a glorified spell totem... Dalaran mage didn't see play or that.. 4/1 stealth spellpower card so i dont think this will be much different

So...barely playable half the time and unplayable the other half.

The only thing he'll be turning into is 5 dust.

So why not use Kobold Geomancer or Tainted Zealot instead?

These are 3 different minions with different stats. One of them have also divine shield. So they serve different purposes. For example Zealot synergizes with Defile while 2 others not so much. Maybe they will be good in other scenarios.

another reason why you wouldn't use him because Tainted Zealot is still a thing and we don't even see her anymore. lol the only spell damage you see currently is the spell totem and sometimes Bloodmage but he ends up being more of a Cycling card and rarely used for his spell power effect, is just a bonus with him

Tainted Zealot is pretty much superior, Its always hard to kill, the health is rarely gonna matter early game over the shield, and late game its NEVER gonna matter and the shield is superior. Plus it doesn't become unplayable every other turn
