The Gadgetzan Deck Recipes - They're Actually Preeetty Gooood
A user on Twitter asked Ben Brode who was responsible for the deck recipes because they felt that they were not good decks. Ben Brode gave us some insight into their winrates though and said many are at 50% at Rank 5.
Maybe they aren't that bad for climbing up the ladder after all. Check out the quote and all the deck recipes below! As always, if you're looking for some of the best decks, our site has you covered through our hot decks listing! Play around with the filters to find something you'd like to play.
Ben Brode on Gadgetzan Deck Recipes
Quote from Ben BrodeWho builds the suggested deck recipes? Why are they all so bad?
how do you define bad? Inaccessible to players with smaller collections? Can't make it to rank 20? 10? Legend? Bad theme?
FWIW I am F2P since before Naxx. I try the deck recipes that I have most or all of the cards for, and they perform terribly for me
at what rank? They aren't intended to be legend level.
low level. 20-15
we've seen 50% winrates at rank 5 with many of them. Which ones are giving you trouble?

Yes you can. It would take a lot of games, but it is doable. Even without bonus stars, a win streak could get you there.
Trust me as a legend player my self 50 present win rate on average will do it go and ask every streamer thats what they will tell you
Perhaps you should check your math. The expected number of steps it takes to reach a value of x in a one-dimension random walk starting at zero is 2x^2 (go google it if you don't believe me). So starting at rank 5, you would need an expected 1250 games to reach legend (actually a bit less, since that's disregarding win streak bonuses if you drop to rank 6 or below). A far cry from a billion.
pirate warriors r cancer my friend, i myself ( multi legend player ) i play either buff pally, midrange/aggro hunter, secret mage im at rank 4 atm i prefer these decks better than reno's or druids meh.
I think that's reversed. Kappa.
Still not good enough to get you an xpac release first.
Well, this is how I look at it now I want to build a deck focused on an archetype say jade or N'zoth I just go to the class get the deck recipe but change about say 8 to 9 cards.(helps with time). :)
Paladin deck contains 2x Ancient of Blossoms
Well, that summarizes everything.
It's a hand-buff deck. AoB is amazing with a couple buffs on it.
A wisp with +9/+9 worth of buffs on it is a 0 mana 10/10. What's your point?
I play it in my hand-buff deck. It's been pretty great. Maybe your play experience has been different - YMMV.
The recipe isn't bad other than that though.
"50% winrates at rank 5" doesn't necessarilymean you can climb to rank 5 with them, to be fair.
You get win streaks to be fair
Rogue is pretty disappointing though, using only 3 Gadgetzan cards in the deck. They really failed to showcase the new cards here.
