This deck had a very high tier list from HearthArena, and my success was due to the high quality of the cards. I had a good curve, buffs, spot removals, and board clears. https://www.heartharena.com/arena-run/yze2pz
I only fought one Warlock, but five Mages. Haven't people gotten the message? It was an easy win, too: the Warlock got Howlfied from Bane of Doom, and I then proceeded to make him discard four cards including Despicable Dreadlord and Twisting Nether. Tsk, tsk.
Lightspawn performed surprisingly well. I was able to buff it with Temple Enforcer and Power Word: Shield to destroy seemingly impossibly tough minions. Dragonslayer was also great - besides dragons it also slew Tar Creepers (with a little help). Having that 4-attack in the early game is often so important.
I never got the healing from Omega Medic. It was a great early tempo play, but I never drew it in the late game. Usually the healing wouldn't have mattered anyway. I think I used Power Word: Death once or twice total.
Again, more stinky cards as rewards. 200 dust, blah. They could at least give you an epic you don't already have.
I've just made my first 12-2 and I HAVE TO share my happiness :D
12-2 mage mid-range, tier only 67.9. I did choose witch cauldron instead of suggester faerie dragon and it was very good decision - spells from cauldron saved two of my games. Also black knight was life saving too. Ruby spellstone gave me crucial meteor in one of games. Many many luck this time :)
I don't know how to make nice table with mine cards though :(
Good job! It was interesting to see that 1/3 of your choices were not HearthArena's. With your drafting skills, you'll have more 12-win runs soon. It was interesting how you prioritized getting random spells by choosing Shifting Scroll, Ruby Spellstone, and Witch's Cauldron. It makes sense, since spells are not available as you'd think for Mage . Then you went all-in with the elementals for your Spellstone by choosing Frost Elemental over Sated Threshadon, which is usually the safer pick. I don't have the guts to pick Cauldron myself. Nice!
At 7.5 average wins in 28 runs this month, so the leaderboard should be within reach for the first time.
Almost same for me, that arena was 30th, and now my stats: https://imgur.com/a/iP5Bnlh , so I also hope to get into the leaderboard for the first time :)
This deck was pretty interesting to play. I went for dragon synergies and it paid off - both Scaleworm and Wyrmguard were quite useful in my playthrough and pretty easy to activate due to large amount of draw tools class and this deck specifically possessed. Triple Wasp was also very useful in getting back on board since my earlygame was basically non-existent most of the games. But of course everyone who will look at this decklist will notice whats what - yes, having triple Fungal was indeed exceptionally powerful.
Finally got back on track with my Rogue game. Centerpoints of the game were Slayer, several granular burst cards (2+2+2=dead face) and very solid lategame punch with Sprint/Onixia/Mastodon/Wyrm. Cannot stress enough how important it is to have a 3-drop in a deck like this, I had 7 and at no point of my playthrough I felt that it was too much. Strong 4- and 5-drop lines felt pretty good too, abscence of 6-drops in Rogue is basically irrelevant cause of 3+3 and 1+5 math coming together. Deadly Poison is not a great card by any means, but I think its undervalued in Heartharena tierlist, same as Cold Blood and Shadowstep (though, those are considerably better than Poison).
Your regular run of the mill Control Priest. Quality minions, healthbuffs and boardclears. MVP of the run was definitely Squashling, that little guy turns in a real beast in lategame, vomiting 10-5 in five bodies worth of stats even if you disregard battlecry effect. And obviously its very flexible at any other point of the game. Hoarding Dragon turned out to be not a disaster, if its not getting hard removed coins usually doesnt make much of a difference.
Got a pretty interesting Control Rogue deck here. Ysera and bunch of taunts were carrying me quite often, but there is also some burst with double Crazed Alchemist. And deck is pretty good in late game, against warrior I got blink fox into The Boomship and next turn boomshipped out Sleepy Dragon, Damaged Stegotron and Crazed Alchemist. So yeah good tempo starting from turn 3 and nice end game value carried me all the way. Sprint was a dead card in hand most of the time though, used it only once.
Kinda interesting deck. It had several 1-drops and Backstab to compliment my early-game, but its real power was in the lategame, where after Hemet or Minstrels/natural draws my hand was stacked with value and agressive on-board plays (Bonemare, Cold Bloods, Chemist). Used Spellshifter for spell damage only once, when I needed to kill off my own Blightnozzle with Hellfire, Shadowstep was pretty awkward in midgame. Otherwise just regular Rogue things.
I Was surprised by the overwhelming success of this seemingly ok'ish deck. During draft I skipped 2's due to hero power and focused heavily on 3-drops, which got the board, and were then buffed and healed. always saved the removals for premium opportunities. I was very surprised this deck won easily against the notable final opponent which had 3xGiggling Inventor and a bunch of other magnetic minions, and crazy quality of cards overall.
MVP's: *Envenom Weapon - my trump card. held it in my hand as much as possible to bait my opponent's big dudes, and it was table turning when they did. If no big minion arrived, it was used to great effect on 4/5 drops as well *Betrayal - people didn't seem to consider this card a lot, usually they played around Fan of Knives but didn't expect this one, which resulted in quite a lot of damage and a few 2-kills-per-use
saw little play:
*Giggling Inventor - Don't think I drew this more than twice, and it didn't perform insanely well (still good though ofc) *Shadowblade - Again, played this only 2 or 3 times, but it was super effective. *Sap - Never had much use for it. on the few times I did use it was on medium sized minions like Rotten Applebaum or Deathweb Spider
suprises:
*Sunborne Val'kyr - allowed me to make surprising-trades with minions quite a lot, and also has a decent body. I guess people don't expect rogue to have buffs -which is a very useful fact to abuse. also allowed for healing later with Darkscale Healer and Shroom Brewer which made my minions keep taking value trades and eventually winning the game. *Stormwind Champion - see above^^ *Frostwolf Warlord - I expected this card to be the worse in deck after War Golem but it surprisingly manged to become quite a good value minion since I always had 1 or more minions on the board. a discounted big body which dealt good damage, traded 2 for 1 or ate up removal. very nice surprise
I managed to get 12 wins in Arena for the second time! Drafted an insane 73.3 Warrior deck and went 12-2 with it. Would have gone 12-0, if I could have drawn one of my Supercolliders against a Rogue and if a Warrior wouldn't have gotten extremely lucky. The games were generally pretty comfortable but I had incredible games against 2 Warlocks where they had answer after answer after answer...
Got my first ever 12 win, only planned to start one so i can get a free ticket for the event, was surprised i got to 12-1, not even sure how good was my deck haha! Only did arena probably 3-4x times since i started playing last year, realized it was pretty fun, more fun than constructed, would do it everyday now!
