This doesn't feel strong enough for the deck building and play demands it makes on top of the RNG in its bonus.
I think it could have been a 4/3 or a 3/4 without being broken, since power locked behind that many conditions should feel ridiculous.
I have yet to play Thunder Lizard but it looks like a good minion that can help you adapt, pun intended, to various situations. Thunder Lizard passes the vanilla test of having 2 stats per 1 mana cost, so anything added on top by adapt is extra value.
Funny enough, adapting was being called evolving at early development, but would be confusing since there's already an evolve mechanic. But yes, queue the Pokemon evolving music :D
Chances are you won't get an elemental to play on 2 then it's just a 3 mana 3/3
I feel like this is a reference somehow.
I think that Thunder Lizard is strong--it's somewhat like a Kabal Talon Priest that buffs itself as a 3/6. That alone is a powerful board presence, which should average two trades if played on curve. If you can squeeze him out in wild with Brann Bronzebeard, though? This would make for some fun combinations--a 6/6, or perhaps a 4/4 with divine shield. I like how dinosaurs are able to be situational Swiss army knives--this lends itself to more creative decks and gameplay than simply facedeck vs facedeck.
A good filler if you miss some cards for your elemental deck, and can be fun in arena if you manage to get a decent ammount of elementals.
Why does the art look so low quality?
the images on hearthpwn arent always cut and crisp like the art in the actual game. Wait till the release, then the card art will be clear
Yeah I figured
Pretty strong, not sure if the 3/6 to say wouldn't be a bit over the top in power as an adapt but well i don't care really, i mean we finally got thunder lizards in hearthstone, took em long enough XD.
Wow...nice community predictions. A 3 mana 3/6 is going to be powerful in any situation, not just in Arena, and a 3 mana 6/3 is still going to give you a lot of value on board even despite the low health. A 3 mana 3/3 with Divine Shield is also really strong - I mean, think about the raw power of Shielded Minibot all those years ago - and giving it Stealth gives you a tool to remove enemy minions while leaving the opponent powerless to stop you. 3/3 with Windfury may not be the strongest, but it's still good value for the cost in nearly all situations (the only one not giving you a ton of value being the Taunt, but even then it's good to have a Taunt body up your sleeve for the hell of it.)
Am i the only one who thinks this card is a good example of why the Adapt is a little unbalanced? I mean a 3/3 taunt will never see play, however, giving it 3 extra health would give it more stats than Blackwing Technician even in a dragon deck. I get that the ability to sort of choose which adaptation can be advantageous in the right scenario, but shouldn't it be balanced so that if given the same senerio, the card designed for only that purpose have a better outcome?
Most adapt buffs on it are not that impressive.
Best you can get is 3 mana 3/6, 4/4, stealth, divine shield or deathrattle. You can go +3 attack or windfury if you built it in an aggressive deck but it won't survive easily.
I am underrating it because I think playing an elemental a previous turn is more "difficult" than holding a dragon. This can be a better Blackwing Technician but Technician wasn't that impressive either
lmao all your comments get so many dislikes.
Early to know how good is it, we need to see some 2 mana cost elementals before we judge.
People saying this is bad...lol. If you are running an Elemental Deck, this card is great. Solid 3/3 that gets to do something if you play your deck correctly.
I'm struggling to see a single connection between this and Frost Elemental. You're just talking out of your ass there.
Blackwing Technician is a 3 mana 3/5 with a significant drawback, and it is still played in constructed quite often. Even if you don't get the +3 health, which might not be the ideal result either way, there's enough good results that you'll want to play this on turn 3, and that's all that really matters.
