The brawl is not the more interesting one, but I think is for them to try deck restrictions code in order to be able to be safe when they push standard.
There are other interesting things in this brawl, that should be occurring on standard:
No 9-mana combo for Druid (awesome!)
No BGH (interesting)
No Silence, except for Priest. (all silence minions have even attack). I don't know if Silence is getting nerfed, but I think that Ironbeak Owl and Druid of the Claw are getting nerfed (probably Claw is getting only 2-dmg option, or something like wrath-1 (2-dmg or draw a card).
Paladin loses Shielded Minibot and Muster for Battle.
***
Mid-range hunter loses a lot, though. No UTH, no Savannah, no Mad Scientist, no Animal Companion. Paladin loses more than he would in Standard: No Tirion, no Mysterious Challenger, no secrets at all.
***
This brawl is really interesting for having a taste of how constructed will look like in standard, with less Silence, no BGH, no "you have 16 life only against druid".
the idea is just use minion to hit the face while using spells to remove opponent's minions. hero power is used to heal your minion so they can last longer.
Weird set of rules. Ok brawl for people with a large collection, pretty brutal for f2p/new players. I really struggled on my secondary accounts to get my free pack.
I noticed that 60%+ of people were playing the same Patron Warrior list found here on Hearthpwn. I made a Control Priest deck with 2x Circle/Auchenai, 2x Lightbomb, 2x Entomb, 2x Shadow Madness, 2x Ooze, Harrison. Currently 5-0, with 4 incredibly easy wins vs Patrons.
I don't know who thought it would be interesting to just make the same game with less stuff... But that guy needs to be fired from Blizzard.
You do realize that Standard, coming at the end of this month, is just "the same game with less stuff" right? And that we just had a brawl recently where you could only put 7+ mana creatures into your deck, which is, you guessed it, "the same game with less stuff".
In this brawl there are tons of archetypes that work, and it really tests your knowledge of what's in and what's out - like knowing when your opponent is setting up for a Blizzard, because they couldn't play Flamestrike.
Sure, RNG fests like the Portal one have an allure, but how can you not like a format that actually rewards smart deckbuilding and solid play?
This has to be the laziest one ever. They just took away some cards, that's it! Really bad. I guess they are all busy getting ready for the release. You can't even use the summoning stone! What in the aaaaaaaaa?
So much whining. Stop crying and try to craft a decent deck within the parameters. "The same game with less cards" is exactly what standard will be, so start getting used to it.
Do you realize you don't have to play around FON + Savage Roar anymore vs Druid? Holy Nova vs Priest? Flamestrike vs Mage?
Do you know that the cards that used to be "almost-there-but-not-quite-viable" are now perfect for this brawl because half the minion pool has been "banned"?
That this brawl (like others before it) has its own meta that you can figure out?
Pause to think about what the implications of the rules are before calling this design "lazy". If anything, it's YOU who are lazy by not trying to figure stuff out on your own.
Terrible, lazy brawl. At least with the over 7 brawl I saw a lot of unusual strategies and minions you rarely encounter outside of wallet warrior. This is basically the same old crap minus 1 or 2 cards.
Used a Mech Rogue with Tomb Spider. Terrible deck, still won.
Tried druid 3-0 with a lot of cards replacing value ones someone played priest, stole my cenarious and recombulated him, he got majordomo xd easy win.

I built a 10-1 Rogue deck for those who enjoy playing Rogue. I'm tired of facing Druid and Mage in this Brawl :)

have yet to play a lot of matches but i actually like this. less randomness but it does depend quite a bit on what you have in your collection.
just sharing my own Priest deck for this brawl, though I'll probably try something else later this weekend:

my decks (comments appreciated):
Lyra's Dragons (standard) | C'Thun Druid (standard) | Lyra's Prince (standard) | C'Thun Undead (wild)

Fairly classic mage with arena juggernauts is just fine. Antonidas ftw. The brawl is not worth replaying imo.
This is heavily anti-newbie
[Edit: I lagged out and posted twice. Sorry.]
Super boring.

Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.
To many netdecks to enjoy it ehh, back to accumulating quests and play in 3 days.

I got super lucky and ended 5-1 with this stack of cards
