Welcome. I'm Le Dawg. You maybe know me for my Thief Priest decks I used to play a couple of years ago. But things change. And today, the Thief Druid is born.

DISCLAIMER : The last updated decklist is the version I like to play at this moment. Since it's very challenging to handle aggro decks, I've decided to give up and accept defeat against them, instead opting to create a deck that's enjoyable to play against everything else. So if you play it, don't expect to have a crazy winrate with it since it's not as effective as it was before the Twig nerf.

I managed to climb legend with anti aggro of this meme deck during Titans expansion (right before Rake and Titan Yogg nerf) 👇👇👇

With this deck, you have a lot of tools to steal or copy your opponent's cards, and either kill him with them, disrupt his win condition, or fatigue him to death. This deck is based on an old @MawksHS mill druid decklist but with neutral minions allowing us to card steal.

 CORE OF THE DECK

We will define the CORE of the deck (19 cards) being what helps us to survive and win with fatigue. From this core, you will have 11 open slots to add Thief cards or more survivability cards if you want. Remove some of these cards at your own risks !

CORE only code (missing cards replaced with 10 mana minions you will have to remove) :

Since the nerf, I don't use Twig and Sphere anymore.

Prince Renathal

Why Renathal ?

  • More protection against fatigue and mill effects such as Movement of Envy
  • You get more room to include cheap cards such as Far Watch Post to have a better early game, and fun cards for better combos.
  • Extra health can sometimes win games.
  • You aren't Jade Idol dependant to win a game, and you can run a Skulking Geist if you want to mess with other druids.

BUT : If you build a Renethal deck YOU MUST BE SURE TO HAVE :  Sir Finley, Sea GuideMoonlit Guidance x2 and Aquatic Form x2 because it will be way harder to draw Wildheart Guff and Dew Process.

Let's review the best cards and combo you can add to the Core to build your own deck

SURVAVIBILITY CARDS

Target Dummy : If you want to include a 0 mana cost minion to break Objection!

Forbidden Fruit : Can provide a crazy amount of armor when you'll have 20 mana and a good card to have if you managed to steal and play Odyn, Prime Designate.

Armor Vendor

Lesser Jasper Spellstone

Chitinous Plating

Solar Eclipse

Flipper Friends

Scale of Onyxia

Doomsayer : Perfect with Silas Darkmoon

Street Sweeper : Can board clear after you Poison Seeds

Prison Breaker : Good but sometimes it's too slow.

Spammy Arcanist : Can combo with Lingering Zombie

Loatheb to have 1 free turn before a quest mage finish and plays Time Warp so you can set up Theotar, the Mad Duke or something else.

Smothering Starfish : If you are afraid of paladins, aggro druid, and discolock

Malfurion the Pestilent : Play it AFTER Guff and your opponents will cry

Eonar, the Life-Binder : Should be auto included in every decks.

 THIEF CARDS

Tier 1 cards (The most efficients)  :

Yogg-Saron, Unleashed : 9 mana Mind Control. Dangerous to play now it casts random spells but still worth it I think.

Southsea Scoundrel : If your opponent hand is full when you play her, it's just discovering a card from his deck and stealing it, since you'll burn the original. When your opponent has 8 or 9 cards in hand, you can use it to force him to draw something he doesn't want, such as Arcane Intellect, so you may mill something he absolutely needs (and then you give him your own copy of Arcane Intellect with Theotar, the Mad Duke later). Amazing to play when you already have Keymaster Alabaster on board.

Keymaster Alabaster : With Naturalize and Dew Process you can get a lot of 1 mana copy from your opponent's deck. Be careful, because with Dew Process on, you risk to mill yourself if your opponent draws too much cards at the start of its turn.

Theotar, the Mad Duke : No need to explain.

Silas Darkmoon : Great card to steal something strong or clear the board with Doomsayer

Kologarn : Weaker than Silas because of the mana cost and the fact it can't steal something protected by a taunt minion. You can use Youthful Brewmaster or Recombobulator on him to avoid to trigger its deathrattle.

Tier 2 cards (can be dead in hand or not always worth it) :

Sylvanas, the Accused : You can easily fed her with Scale of Onyxia and Spreading Plague. I only play her in a renathal deck.

Infinite Sylvanas, the Accused combo (19 Mana) : Play Sylvanas, the Accused to steal an enemy minion, then play Barista Lynchen. After this, use Zola the Gorgon on Barista, and then play Barista again. After this you will have 2 Sylvanas, the Accused, 1 Zola the Gorgon and 1 Barista Lynchen in your hand. Then you can loop.

---------

Mind Control Tech : No need to explain, best card ever printed in hearthstone.

Disguised K'thir : A spy to get informations about what your opponent has in his deck. I like the card a lot, but be careful, it is useless the turn you draw it since it won't transform until the start of your turn. The mana cost and stats are the same than the copied card. So you get reduced mana cost and improved stats from effects such as Celestial Alignment and Blackrock 'n' Roll.

Arfus : Because he can get us a Death Grip and Frostmourne.

Sketchy Stranger : There's a lot of useless and thief themed secrets we can get ! Unfortunately, sometimes you will discover 3 trash secrets. If there wasn't also such bad secrets in the discover pool, this would be a tier 1.

Tier 3 cards (Situational, useless against some opponents, can fail) :

Azalina Soulthief : Powerful minion we can play when our hand is empty. The only problem is it may be a dead card until the end of the game. Hard to set up since Twig nerf.

Mischief Maker : I love this card but it is really hard to play it correctly. With dredge effects, or with Sir Finley, Sea Guide (to know the order of the bottom of your deck), you can kinda choose what card to give during the swap. If you are afraid of giving something powerfull to your opponent, you can play it when his hand is full and pray to get something good.

Murloc Holmes : No need to explain. Cards like Keymaster Alabaster, Theotar, the Mad Duke and Mischief Maker can help your for the 2nd clue.

Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate : You have 19% chances to take control of 3 enemy minions.

•Kezan Mystic : No need to explain.

Kobold Stickyfinger : No need to explain. Can be fun if you can steal a weapon to break your Twig of the World Tree.

Faceless Manipulator : Only valuable if there is something good to copy on the opponent board. I think it's trash because of its mana cost.

Cover Artist : Cheaper than Faceless, good to copy a deathrattle or a titan.

Creepy Painting : A cheaper alternative to Faceless Manipulator but you need to combo it with a kill or Naturalize.

Fate Splitter : Can be included if you like it, as a copycat card. You can combo it with Animated Broomstick or Fanboy to suicide it to a minion you'd like to get a copy, or use it with Naturalize or Poison Seeds to duplicate these spells.

Tony, King of Piracy : Interesting if you can shuffle a jade idol in your deck after playing it, but be careful, Steamcleaner will destroy the entire deck you get from Tony.

SUPPORT CARDS (to support your thief cards)

COMBO :

Brann Bronzebeard : Combo with Dirty Rat and Mind Control Tech.

Dirty Rat : Pretty cool to combo with Mind Control Tech,Sylvanas, the Accused and Silas Darkmoon. Or right before casting Poison Seeds if you have enough mana.

Shadow Hunter Vol'jin : Very interesting to disrupt your opponent board and hand, and can also be used to put a battlecry back in your hand, for example if you desperately need to play Theotar, the Mad Duke a second time and are out of Youthful Brewmaster. You can also use it to summon something big such as Kologarn or Eonar, the Life-Binder from your hand while getting a battlecry back.

Deathlord and Hecklebot : Can help you to fatigue your opponent a bit faster. Hecklebot can summon something you can directly steal with Sylvanas, the Accused and Deathlord can set up a big board for you to use Mind Control Tech or Poison Seeds after your opponent killed it.

King Mukla / Pozzik, Audio Engineer : A mill card you can combo with Southsea Scoundrel to steal a card from deck when the opponent hand is full.

Sheriff Barrelbrim / Maiev Shadowsong : You can use this on minions such as Kologarn or Keymaster Alabaster to protect them, or to disable something on your opponent board until you are ready to steal it.

Tuskarrrr Trawler : Combo with Mischief Maker.

DUPLICATORS :

Flobbidinous Floop : To clone one of your minions, or a copied/stolen minion from opponent.

N'Zoth, the Corruptor : An interesting option if you want to build around deathrattles minions such as Kologarn, Arfus, Fate Splitter, Deathlord ...

Zola the Gorgon : To pull up in hand a battlecry minion you stole or one of yours.

Barista Lynchen : Absolutely amazing in a Sylvanas, the Accused based deck, and with Mind Control Tech and Dirty Rat. Need to be played with Zola the Gorgon for infinite value.

Saloon Brewmaster / Youthful Brewmaster : Cheaper than Zola the Gorgon and can help you to to get Kologarn back in hand to protect his deathrattle.

Dryscale Deputy : Duplicate one of your spells, and you can choose wich one by using Aquatic Form and Moonlit Guidance.

Sathrovarr : Expensive but very interesting to duplicate a titans or a good battlecry. If you reduce Yogg-Saron, Unleashed cost to 0, you can set up something big. Might be interesting to combo it with Aviana and Zola the Gorgon.

Photographer Fizzle : The card is good but sometimes you will have too much cards in hand to correctly unbundle the snapshot. I think it can be good in a 30 deck card, but not in a renathal deck.

Baleful Banker : Considering we can draw a lot of cards per turn because of Dew Process, the blanker can help you to duplicate a good minion without filling your hand like you do with Zola the Gorgon. Also, it will reshuffle your deck, which can be useful if you need something that is at the bottom of your deck. And it protect the duplicated card from Dirty Rat and Mutanus the Devourer.

Gaslight Gatekeeper : If Finley is not enough for you. Can combo with Augmented Elekk for a Dead Man's Hand effect.

Nobleman : Something you can drop on board during the early game to trade, and sometimes it can create copies of useful cards. Not very good, but can be considered.

Freya, Keeper of Nature : Can be considered but I feel like the mana cost of this is a problem. Never tried it yet.

Celestial Projectionist : Can be used to duplicate Yogg-Saron, Unleashed or Eonar, the Life-Binder.

Starlight Whelp : Not sure about this one but why not...

Mark of the Spikeshell : Can combo with Ironbark, Germination, or Sunfury Protector, and even Plaguemaw the Rotting if you really want to make a taunt meme deck.

OTHERS :

E.T.C., Band Manager : To protect your Jade Idol from Skulking Geist and from being stolen or copied with a priest spell. Don't play ETC until you need the Idol or you are sure you won't need it. If your ETC get stolen or copied, your opponent cannot access your sideboard cards by using its battlecry so your Idol can't be stolen in anyway until you get it out of ETC.

Far Watch Post : An early drop that will slow your opponent and force it to kill it fast, extremely annoying and good.

Widowbloom Seedsman : Give you mana and helps you to draw one of your nature spells you may need, especially Dew Process

Fungal Fortunes : If you play a deck with only 3 or 4 minions, this card is very interesting. It can save you during the early game if you absolutely need to draw Poison Seeds or something like that, but also because you can give it to your opponent with Theotar, the Mad Duke, and it will piss him kinda hard.

Life from Death : Better than Fungal Fortunes but you need to infuse it. I think it can be a good card if you want to build a no duplicates deck.

Kiri, Chosen of Elune : Can be interesting since it will grant a bit of board presence and grant 2 spells to reduce Yogg-Saron, Unleashed mana cost faster.

Sesselie of the Fae Court : I like the idea of drawing a 0 mana cost Kologarn or Keymaster Alabaster, but it's a bit random.

Coldlight Oracle : It can help, depending of your playstyle and deckbuild.

AvianaForest Warden Omu / Ysiel Windsinger : Can help you to mana cheat a combo if you need to.

Vanndar Stormpike :  For a deck with expensive mana minions only, but not sure about this

Pilfered Power : According to everyone this card is extremely bad but I'm sure it can see plays to ramp hard after you played guff and filled the board with something like Spreading Plague.

Meme Tier (Funny / Interesting but not reliable)

Grizzled Wizard + Sir Finley Mrrgglton : To disrupt a hero power from quest reward, hero card or Genn Greymane, or just to give warlock hero power to your opponent

Translocation Instructor : Maybe it can have a play if you combo it with Silas or Sylvanas but complicated.

Sylvanas Windrunner : With Spiritsinger Umbra, Tomb Lurker and Hedge Maze, you can make a classic Sylvanas version of this deck, if you want to focus on board stealing. (Edit : I tried it and it's very very bad. The odds of having a good set up and taking control of the board with it are so low, it's not competitive at all)

Soul Seeker : An amazing but complicated card. Because it force us to reduce the amount of minion in our deck, or maybe play it when our deck is empty so the opponent can't steal  back from us. You can also run it with cards like Fel Reaver or Octosari if you want to set up a trap for your opponent and hope he will play your Soul Seeker, but it's complicated.

Lorekeeper Polkelt : Combo with Mischief Maker to give your opponent something that cost 8+ you can force summon with Dirty Rat : Octosari, Majordomo Executus..., Hakkar, the Soulflayer (then get Wyrmrest Purifier into your deck). After you played Polkelt, don't forget you can re-shuffle your deck with Jade Idol if you want to.

Magtheridon : You can use it to summon 3 minions on the opponent board and then play a Mind Control Tech to try to steal 1 good minion if you are lucky. Also, the 3 Hellfire Warder will disrupt the graveyard of a big priest, so it can be funny in some matchups. Be careful, Hellfire Warder doesn't wake up Magtheridon if it's on your board so be careful with Mind Control Tech

Battleground Battlemaster : To give windfury to Kologarn or somehow set up lethal if you manage to get a strong board. Bad but funny.

Unseen Saboteur : A disruption card your opponent will NEVER EXPECT.

Hipster : Very random, but why not

Paparazzi : Not really themed but can be good and funny if you have luck

Doomkin : Sadly this card is very bad because of its mana cost.

Patches the Pirate : Considering we play with Southsea Scoundrel, Patches can help you to empty your deck faster, so you can set up Jade Idol faster, or if you want to directly steal from deck with Mischief Maker (if your deck is empty when you play her)

Miracle Salesman : To get an useless card to swap with Theotar

High Noon Duelist : A disruption card you can combo with Lorekeeper Polkelt

Flint Firearm : You have a small chance to get Benevolent Banker from him

Let's talk about King Togwaggle :

King Togwaggle isn't in the deck because I see him as a very specific win condition and it doesn't fit the deck theme. Because when you play him correctly, the opponent will concede directly, and we want to be able to play with the opponent card, not making him quit.

However, I thought about this stupid combo using Togwaggle and our deck with 20 mana Guff :

Start with Naturalize to be sure your opponent hand is full. Then :

King Togwaggle + Solar Eclipse + Fungal Fortunes + Flobbidinous Floop. Draw 6 cards from opponent deck, then give it back.

Edit : I made this Togwaggle play and even if it's fun, it's not worth it, it's just meme tier. You can check it on this video if you want :
