Our Draconic Studies program has a high rate of burnout.
I feel this would be a better dual class card for paladin and priest, instead of the other 1 mana spell
Something I've not seen anyone mention so far is the fact that you can really capitalize on the fact that the discount doesn't go away until you play a dragon. And it stacks! You can get a 7 mana Dragonqueen Alexstrasza if you play two of these before playing a dragon! (i mean, if you're running two of these then you probably aren't playing highlander which might make Alex hard to play....etc etc but dammit, the point stands! lol) Considering you can generate this off of Renew and Sethekk Veilweaver, you can discount your next dragon even further. Now granted, as soon as you play just 1 dragon, all those discounts are gonna vanish but this can really give priests some interesting options.
I was thinking something similar. I wouldn't be surprised if this card saw some experimentation in a Highlander Dragon Priest deck. The discount effectively allows you to shave off some of the cost of one of your big dragons and spend that cost on a much earlier turn (1 mana spells really aren't difficult to slip in). Now your big dragon is going to come down on board an entire turn earlier than it should be. Dragonqueen Alexstrasza is a prime example as it can be played on turn 9 again.
It also just puts a dragon into your hand which is important for dragon synergy decks. Netherspite Historian saw play back in the day, and Draconic Studies doesn't even require you to have a dragon in hand to begin with.
A legendary that sinergize with deathrattle without new good dr for priest, and now a dragon card without new good dragon...
And that is what they are doing for years now. Releasing cards without any synergy what so ever, or cards that would have been great four expenses ago and release them at a pointless time.
