Brawl summons the Taunt after the effect.
All of the big paladin spells are calling.
Idly you cast Libram of Hope or Dimensional Ripper.
People that compare this to spirit of the tiger are actually narrow-minded. The librams (a spell paladin archetype) exists in the same year as this weapon that compliments spells. When spirit of the tiger existed, nobody used it bc 4 mana is expensive for an effect like that and couldn't really combo w/ anything. Not to mention there really wasn't a spell paladin (libram) archetype during the lifetime of spirit of the tiger. Not to mention that this thing also impacts the board right away. Spirit of the tiger never survived past the next turn it was put down from so saying this is a 'one-time spirit of the tiger' is blatantly stupid.
I just realized, Spellburst triggers AFTER the spell resolves, so the student summoned will take the original cost of the card into account, rather than the discounted cost (At least that's what I assume). So on turn 8, say, you play this and a 5 mana Libram of Hope. You get an 8/8 taunt with Divine Shield, and a 9/9 taunt with it. Not too shabby. Unfortunately, this card has 0 synergy with Libram of Justice, as Justice will destroy the weapon before it can summon the taunt. Shame.
So SPELLBURST use the ORIGINAL cost? Librearm Paladins NEED to reduce the cost of Librearm of Hope to work, so I think you'll get the 5/5 taunt guy instead of a 8/8 taunt.
Spirit of the Tiger also doesn't do anything on its own, has many more removal options, costs 1 more mana, and didnt exist during libram paladin.
For Warrior useless because lol imagine building Control Warrior in 2020... maybe Quest Warrior as value deck, but Priest can do everything Quest Warrior can and better.
For Pure Paladin it's still pretty weak and you already have tons of weapons to use instead of this. If this for whatever reason became good, people would easily counter it with Ooze so 1/5 star from me, won't see play in both arena or contructive tier 1-2 decks. If I open this epic in packs I will be very sad.
Remember that it will summon for whatever the cost of the spell is, so Libram of Hope will summon a 9/9 Taunt, regardless of the discount.
Spirit of tiger didn’t see any comp play. And this thing has the same effect but once. Bad card
Big Warrior and Big Paladin will be a thing with this. It's a Spirit of the Tiger that only activates once.
