first of all: this isn't a "mimi" thread. I Just want to collect some deckideas and want to start a discussion on how we get Priest to work :)
I really love playing Control Decks and Priest was always one of my favorite classes for this archetype. However I dont like this hole Ress/OTK stuff that has been around for the last months.
So maybe just ignore these typs of decks for a moment, because they already exist and doesnt work that well in the "current meta" - I know its only a few days, but we all know that at least tempo rogue and token druid will be around for some time.
I dont want to talk about what we have lost with this roation...because it doesnt matter and wont change anything. - but what did we get instead?
Forbidden Words I absolutely love this card, can kill every minion without much preparation.
Hench-Clan Shadequill back at classic every Priestdeck played Injured Blademaster and I think this is just a better version of him, easy to keep him alive and his Deathrattle isn't that much of a downside.
Madame Lazul tried her a few times, seems pretty ok but I dont think that its good enough to see much play or make a difference. It should be "steal the card from your opponents hand" then it would be really good.
What about Omega Medic as a 3-drop, that is also really useful in staying alive later?
If you're running Sand Drudge, your deck has a different goal entirely, and you should also be running double Grave Horror and probably double Seance. But you probably shouldn't be running Drudge anyways because it's not a good card.
In terms of survivability, draw, and AOE, maybe the Auchenai + Circle package is good, in addition to the Cleric + Pyromancer + Divine Hymn package, but that depends on what we're actually drawing to.
In a world of Token Druid and Murloc Shaman, I'm wondering if just one copy of Mass Dispel is enough or if two is better.
I'm experimenting myself quite a lot with priest. Amidst the bad things that the rotation brought to the meta there's one key element that priest can benefit: the meta is slower than a few months ago. Cards that were too slow to matter, now can have their moment under the sun
Spirit of the Dead is atm the most powerful card avaible for a control oriented priest. The downside is that, even with the stealthed turn, it's quite easy to remove.
Seance it's another great card, with both offensive and defensive capabilities.
Omega Medic is insane in the current meta and helps a lot against bomb warriors.
I'm experimenting with the combo generated by those cards and Dollmaster Dorian, that can make your deck go infinite on value, since every minion that dies creates a copy, and every time you draw, you create another 1/1 copy. When the 1/1 dies it creates another normal copy that costs 1.
It comes with the ressurrection package, but instead of going for the dine spirit combo, it goes for the infinite value generation. I also want to try adding Jepetto Joybuzz or Hakkar, the Soulflayer. I'm even tempted by Shadowform , but i think it'll need more testing.
Anyhow, priest is in a bad spot atm and that opens the door to every sort of experiment. I suggest you to reach some kind of safe spot on ladder and start experimenting yourself. :D
I shared this in another thread earlier, but this is what i am running. It works pretty well except against aggro that draw the nuts because of the lack of early board presence, but late game is king if you get your gallery out with plenty of deathrattles still in deck. Welps, Cairn, Coffin Crasher, & Safeguard hold board presence. While undataka + shadowy figure is a great reload combo since most decks are currently only running one spellbreaker that they likely already used.
This is what I have been playing, have tried a few different versions so far, Safeguard will work in this as well, but for some reason I opted for Big Bad Archmage for the fun of it. I like the Reckless Exp. can give you some immediate value if needed, whelp for quick board or Applebaum/Doctor for quick heals. glhf
Well for me a combination on otk and res. Can't go full otk because of all the agro I'm facing. Have tried it with less taunts, but that's just not viable. Jepetto is a liability, but most minions you draw are not bad as 1 drops. With all the aoe and taunts you are able to stand a chance against token/murloc (the decks I'm facing the most currently). You don't always win through otk (velen + malagos) but summoning a massive board and having 2/3 vargoths blasting a mind blast is enough as well.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Hello there,

Convincing Infiltrator seems pretty good to me, a cheaper Obsidian Statue
Forbidden Words I absolutely love this card, can kill every minion without much preparation.
Hench-Clan Shadequill back at classic every Priestdeck played Injured Blademaster and I think this is just a better version of him, easy to keep him alive and his Deathrattle isn't that much of a downside.

Lazul's Scheme pretty decent, great to play with Cabal Shadow Priest or Shadow Word: Pain
The current metadecks are Bomb Warri, Token Druid, Tempo Rogue, Murloc Shaman and a few Control Shamans/Warriors
Bomb Warri shouldnt be that much of a problem for a healing class.
Control Matchups really depend on Archivist Elysiana so I guess you have to be a little bit lucky.
But Token Druid, Murloc Shaman and Tempo Rogue are a bit tricky I think.
so what do we need? - board clear, be able to create a decent board because non of them are playing aoe removals and out value them in longer games.
So I thought about a more "classic oriented" Priest deck with Wild Pyromancer and Cabal Shadow Priest
What do you guys think? how to impore this deck? or even how to improve the current situation of Priest :)
I think Ysera might be too greedy, and maybe you can add me later and we theory craft it. I also want to see a control priest see play.
Sand Drudge is useless in Control Priest, replace her with Acolyte.
Random ideas.

I run a deathrattle rez priest deck that includes Recurring Villain, Zerek, Master Clone along with Banana Buffoon and Da Undatakah. Those Recurring Villain, once buffed, can outlive any Mass Hysteria as well as insuring the Undatakah will multiply upon dying. Using Seance & Vivid Nightmare also help multiplying them as well as triggering Zerek DR.
The deck does relatively well, for as long as you draw your early deathrattle early on. Convincing Infiltrator also help keeping board control. Finally, Dead Ringer helps you cycle your deck, looking for your cheap spells and buffs, Power Word: Shield, Extra Arms & Bananas. List is completed with Mass Resurrection, Catrina Muerte and Forbidden Word.
Hoping this deck shell can inspire you
"What have you got there,
PinocchioMalygos?"this is what im doing atm...no not that Original but why change a winning format if you can add to it (Catrina Combo Priest)

Well, I have already opened a thread for my deck but wanted to share it here too.
I am sitting on %60 winrate with this deck on rank 4;
If you want to check it thread is here;

ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
so I made some test games yesterday and you guys are right
Sand Drudge is bad...really bad xD and Ysera is too slow and greedy and doesnt do much most of the time
also I excpected Cabal Shadow Priest to be better, but it doesnt make a difference if you steal one of the 6 murlocs on the board :/
so also cut Lazul‘s Scheme
Convincing Infiltrator wasnt that good either :( damn it I thought he would perform better
that would leave the deck with 7 slots to fill :)
Omega Medic sounds pretty good for me, but only as a one off i guess
Tunnel Blaster and Grave Horror sound good. maybe a 1-2 split.
and then? one more Holy Nova, Mass Dispell and Seance
I will definitely try out the decks you guys posted thank you :) keep it going
Also made one. Not enough time to test all the decks but looks decent.
Let's build OTK Priest together!

Hey guys, I saw this deck in a video of Kibler:
https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/deathrattle-priest-rise-of-shadows-kibler/
Its a 100% deathrattle priest type of deck.
I have a lot of fun with it on ladder.
Good luck out there !
Damage dealt in the face, is damage dealt in the face.
This is my version on control priest. Simple and effective against most decks.
Is that a murloc? Yawn....conceede!
Very cool, I've been playing around with something similar. Shadowy Figure + Mechanical Whelp on 8 mana is kind of nutty!
Also noteworthy about SF, it works on Da Undatakah, which is also kind of nutty.
