I just realized, there's no zero cost neutral minions in this expansion and only 2 1-cost.
They must have learned the lesson about the risk of over-printing solid 1drops ^^
there is also no hero transformations
After having some look to the hs source code, some hacker thinks that the 3rd expansion of this year might be full of playable heroes
Bizarre that people are irate about the lack of dragons when we never heard a similar demand for large numbers of mammoths or ravens. Dragons are big and dramatic; you should only see a couple per set at most, lest they lose their luster. Unless the entire set is based around dragons, of course...
given they have some dragon stuff for paladin, you may well see some dragon neutral (or maybe just for paladin) next 2 expansions this year. Dont forget we have quite a few dragons in classic (though they are mostly legendary)
Am I right in thinking that if you want to build a competitive deck after rotation you will need to include a couple of Spellbreaker or Ironbeak Owl in your deck, i.e. more than you would want to include atm.
Removals and AOEs seem weaker and there will be many targets to silence, so you will want to draw those cards quickly to keep the board.
Happy to be proven wrong though...
To be fair, there are always targets for silence, and I also would say, at least in my opinion, that it depends on the deck type.
Control usually gets away without silence often enough due to having a lot of removal, but yeah, those could use a bit more of it, bar priest who always has Mass Dispel. Handlocks, too, commonly have a silence or two, so they should be mostly the same.
Aggro is probably the most common one when it comes to taking silence, so I don't think they'll build too differently since they run it for taunts mostly, and most of the new silence bait is on the higher end of the man spectrum. It's possible some more people will look at Shieldbreaker due to some of the taunts with good abilities, or just as an alternative, leaving their other silence for the non-taunt targets.
Combo rarely goes for silence and rarely needs it as well.
Midrange is very similar to aggro, having some silence more often than not, and should build mostly the same as aggro, too.
That all comes to mind when I think it over, anyway. But it probably doesn't matter in the end, since everyone will be dying to Bomb Warrior. And silence, card draw or whatnot? Well, Mass Dispel might keep you alive for another turn or two against a Boom Bot swarm, but yeah... :D
i can't for this expantion
Me neither, I can't.
But you must wait.
Who said anything about waiting?
Wait! what?!
All the legendaries look at least fun (when not really good). That's good in a way but it makes the expansion very expensive ...
Is there a card missing here? There are 134 cards above and all recent sets have been 135. More specifically there are only 8 neutral epics instead of 9.
Edit - Looks like they dropped one epic and replaced it with a rare for whatever reason. Probably doesn't really matter, although I am sure if it was the other way around there would be a massive thread about the 'stealth price increase' by now.
Ha, I just noticed that too. But it has always been 135 cards (since Un'goro at least), this time there is one more rare, on fewer epic. Which is sort of good news for everyone who wants a full collection, saves you 600 dust.
That'll come when they put it back next expansion.
Disaapointed that there will be no new hero cards, they were the best feature is KotFT. Maybe not for every class but 1 new hero per expansion could be optimal.
hero cards are the problem of the actually meta
Well, what hero card was the problem during RR besides Rexxar? Maybe Boom? Or Hagatha? Or Zuljin? Properly designed hero cards allow you to play a completely different archetype with the same class, they just don't have to be some crazy shit like Guldan or Rexxar.
