We already have a meta where silence and polymorph effects are great. With Magnetic about to be released, Spellbreakers are going to running rampant.
When they release cards that make silencing one of the strongest things you can do, they're creating a really awkward situation. Having your party trick silenced is no fun, but the problem is they're making a large selection of ridiculous party tricks that are countered by silence and really hard to face fairly.
Game design rant for Blizzard ********* The worst of the party tricks have or generate ridiculous health taunts (Voidlord, Hooked Reaver, Hadronox, Dragonhatcher, Lynessa). If you don't want to create situations for aggro where an Owl/Spellbreaker deals 12-18 damage, better than anything else they could play, don't make your party tricks have taunt! Make them aggressive or proactive.
You know the zombeasts from Rexxar? I'm pretty sure they'll act like that - a single entity of two minions staped together that silence won't affect, other effects aside. I don't think magnetic will = Blessing of Kings.
I wish that it was like the zombeast thing. I think it was previously clarified that the entire second magnetic buff would be removed because it acts as a spell, buffing the Mech. OP is right, silence needs to be dealt with.

In all the times we've seen something get magnetized so far, it's all been with turning the stats green, showing it is some form of buff. I'm pretty sure it will be able to be silenced.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.

I doubt it. Rexxar zombeasts when laid on board, their health/attack are shown in white. Essentially flagging their stats at base. Magnetic however shows them in green, flagging them as a buff.
That being said, if mechs rule the roost, yeah silence will be popular for a while. But there are lot of combo decks where silence is practically useless, and they look strong as well. It's very difficult to tell.

Nope...
Magnetic Keyword
While Magnetic is a new mechanic, it actually works very similarly to buffs. Cards with Magnetic can “fuse” with another Mech you already have on the battlefield. For example, fusing the new Spider Bombwith Mechwarper would end up creating a 4/5 Mech with “Your Mechs cost (1) less. Deathrattle: Destroy a random enemy minion.” Mechs with Magnetic can work on their own, or they can be used as a way to buff a Mech! Here’s what we know about the mechanic so far:
Cards with Magnetic can be played like a normal card too, ignoring the keyword.
In order to fuse, play Magnetic card to the LEFT of a Mech. If you play it to the right, nothing happens.
Fusing counts as a buff. The resulting Mech will have combined stats of both minions, as well as effects of both.
If the card gets Silenced, the extra stats and all of the effects disappear. You just get the base, Silenced Mech. It works exactly like you would Silence a regular buff, such as Spikeridged Steed.
You can fuse a Magnetic card into any Mech – it doesn’t have to be Magnetic too.
If a Mech on the board can attack, fusing a Mech into it won’t change that (it will still be able to attack). It doesn’t create a new minion, but rather buffs the existing one.

You know what's not affected by silence. Combo decks. You know what just got buffed in this expansion? Combo decks. I would suggest rethinking your strategy of running mass amounts of silence.
You can only realistically fit 2 silence effects in your deck... Some Classes maybe a bit more but it gets clunky at some point. The skill will be to properly play around them. I'm not too worried. Playing silence is nearly always a tempo loss.
I wonder when people will get tired of this fallacy. The "SILENCE META!" was supposed to be a big thing for the last 4 sets. And when Cubelock was at its height, it was arguably the worst. And how many silences did I see in even high running decks? Four. A whole 4 of them. WOOOO!
You seem to think that Silence will fix everything. You will run out of silences before you run out of targets. It's okay, really.

Silence meta will counter the timmys who try and magnetize one giant minion. Furthermore, if you suspect silences you can actually use your brain and play magnetic minions by themselves, making them much better than buffs. Also, silence cards are generally speaking weak, few decks play them other than to finish through a taunt. Playing more than two spellbreakers (which is already a lot) to counter mech decks when there are tons of other decks seeing play is a bad idea.

Well said! If you want to buff targets with the Magnetic guys spread them out. Or save the Magnetic effect for a final burst of lethal damage.

Standard cards with silence...

Counter the Meta!!! Chillwind Yeti and Boulderfist Ogre, FTW!
Why the hell would silence them when you can outright kill the minion, not all of them that have busted effects that demands silence.

Well dang haha. Annoying but not wholly backbreaking at least. Although Spellbreaker does make Beryllium Nullifier significantly worse.

Yeah, then you lost against my Elemental Shaman.
I like elementals and totems.
Deal with Silence by playing your magnetic minions to the right. If you do, you've played around silence.

Many of the magnetic effects are intended for making trades, so silence will have no impact.
I don't see how this keyword is any different from ordinary buffs, taunts and deathrsttles in terms of the effectiveness of silence.
If your strategy entirely revolves around a single big mech, you would lose anyway, since all classes have plenty of removals.
