Yep, that's kinda how the world runs. Thanks for your constructive contribution to the site!

Allow me to add some constructive criticism then fanboy. It's shitty of Blizzard to spread out Hearthstone related items to games that some of us have no interest in, and it's even shittier to know that Blizzard won't make them available again. Thanks for playing Hearthstone everyday, this isn't for you and you can't get it ever again through any method that might suit some members of the Hearthstone fan base a little better. Is that how the world works? No, I don't think it is. Just look at a game like Mario Odyssey that gives everyone the cosmetics because you play their game and support them. Blizzard is money hungry in the sense that they put making money before pleasing their player base. Only companies who are up for the golden poo award operate like that. So no, that's not how the world works. Was that constructive enough for you? How about you add something constructive next time instead of a snarky comment. Practice what you preach.

    Quote from Zkaletus >>

Blizzard: "We don't want to give players the ability to discard opponent's cards, because that might take away the fun of the game."

Also Blizzard: (Makes spell which literally destroys half of opponent's deck)

I mean, did their design philosophy change when I wasn't looking? What is this?

Are you retarded or what? People want a card like Duress or Thought Erasure. No one was asking for this card. It's not neutral. It doesn't help any class but warlock which is the only class that has hand disruption. It's way too expensive and slow to be reliable. It hurts your own decks and pushes warlock further into fatigue than their opponent if they have used their hero power at all. You are being deceitful as fuck with your argument here. People wanted Dirty Rat, and now you are like "well blizzard printed an 8 mana warlock card that destroys half our decks so what's the big deal!?"

That is not what the community was asking for dumbass. It's like comparing Fan of Knives to Twisting Nether. Just because both of them are technically aoe, doesn't make them somehow the same.

    “We want a combo counter!”

    ”Here’s a niche counter card.”

”This makes us angrier for some reason!”

Calling it a counter is being generous and acting like this is even close to anything people were asking for is being flat out disingenuous. People want neutral hand disruption or at the very least, more hand disruption spread throughout the rest of the classes. This card is garbage, that is why it makes people angry. Anyone who thinks this is going to break the meta or stop combo decks is a moron.

posted a message on How to FIX the content droughts

The problem isn't content droughts. It's stale content, namely the entire evergreen set. The data out there suggest that at any given time throughout the year, the meta is more than 40% classic and basic cards. How can your refresh period not touch almost half the meta and expect to actually refresh anything? We have several old expansions to pull cards from now and the possibility to create a yearly rotating core set. Magic has proven that it works. Not only would it allow stale cards to leave and bring new life into the game but rotating old cards back in allows for Blizzard to update the art. That is what this game needs so bad.

The other thing I want to state is this. Hearthstone's card design quality is absolutely abysmal. The amount of cards that are simply nonviable at every point in their life span in standard is much higher than the amount of cards that actually find a home in tier 4 or above decks. Hearthstone feels creatively bankrupt.

As I see the new cards revealed, everyone is rushing to comment on whether these cards are good or bad, but I think that discussion is meaningless. The discussion we should be having is whether these cards are fun or not. How do these new cards offer new ways to play? In my opinion, that is what matters in a time where good and bad cards already exist but fun is the problem. So I ask you, where is the fun in the new cards? The last honest to god fun card was Academic Espionage and Blizzard ensured that it wasn't good enough to be competitive. If Hearthstone is to succeed it needs to put fun first. Right now, Team 5 is not doing that and that is why Hearthstone is stale.

posted a message on Serious question

I mean, there are only 30 cards in their deck, there are duplicates of each of those cards, they have multiple turns to draw those cards and they have a mulligan to find them that doesn't punish them with card disadvantage. So no. There really isn't anything going on here. They have the cards they put into their decks. The math is in their favor without any artificial meddling.

When I got the ninth one I was glad the slog was over. Your prize is freedom.

Likewise you could just earn legend once. It's much easier and there is the same lack of gratification waiting for you. I would imagine most people disillusioned with Hearthstone are those of us who have finished high legend or who have went to the extreme and found the bottom of this shallow pool. The people still defending this game are those who think there is some unexplored depth or those with ladder anxiety. This is the kiddy pool folks. There aren't any gold medals or trophies coming your way for putting your time in.

It makes the mage hero power scary. Let me ask you this. Is it fun for a player to worry about an infinite value effect that is always available from the start of the game? Hero powers suck and cards that assist them suck even more. You want it to be something that allows a player to do something so they don't feel awful when they are out of cards? Fine, but don't make them a central game play mechanic when by design they are non-interactive.

A boring card overall that isn't going to change how it feels to play against control mages. We should be rating these cards on whether they are boring or not considering the fact that plenty of good and bad cards already exist, but the consensus is that we are not having fun. What does this card offer me that makes Hearthstone fun to play? It's text is unique but at it's core it just generates a bit of value. Yawn.

posted a message on New Priest Spell - Surrender to Madness

This is one of the worst cards I have ever seen. Why is it that in Hearthstone, cards are printed with text that basically counters themselves? Have you ever noticed that it's the cards without any downsides or at least minimal risk that are what see play, while trash like this is forgotten? In Magic, WotC print cards that allow you to counter or answer anything in the game. I can't think of any card in MTGA where I thought, "that is terrible and it defeats itself." In Magic, when you see a card there is probably a place for it. Whether that place be competitive or budget lists. In Hearthstone though, we get actively bad cards that protect us from themselves and serve as nothing but filler. Maybe it's time to start printing good cards and good counters to those cards? Nah, this is Hearthstone and what would Hearthstone be without unplayable shit that shouldn't exist as it is.

This card screams magic the gathering design.

Eh. Compare this to Fiery Cannonade. A three mana consecration that can be used in pirate aggro decks and I think you will see this is nothing like MTG design. Of course in Magic, pirates actually have abilities that allow them to raid, steal, and plunder. Hearthstone has some nice artwork, "yar har" voicelines and their only ability is to hit face, because you know. Hitting face is so fun and unique, no other tribe in Hearthstone does that.
