The idea of this deck was to work with the synergy between Frost Lich Jaina and Sindragosa. I think the base is good; but it may need refinement.

    Frozen Drakes
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (21) Ability (8) Playable Hero (1)
    Loading Collection

Glacial Shard was one of the last cards I added into the deck. Mostly as an enabler for Coldwraith; but also as an Elemental; and a 1 health ping target if need be for an 'upgrade' to a Water Elemental.

    Frostbolt is just good.

Arcanologist is in the deck to fetch Ice Block; thinning the deck while doing so

Netherspire Historian can discover numerous lategame cards; most notably extra copies of Sindragosa

Pyros is in the deck both to give an earlier minion; and because it gives midgame and lategame as well. Also; 10/10 Lifesteal.

This deck is pretty reliant on finding Frost Lich Jaina so Arcane Intellect is included for draw.

Coldwraith has a good body; and it's situational draw is an upside; especially with Shard; Frostbolt and Water Elementals.

    Volcanic Potion is anti-aggro.

Tar Creeper is more anti-aggro; as well as being useful later in the game with Lifesteal.

Water Elemental is a solid 4 drop; 3/6 body that freezes things. This helps control the board; delay for lategame; andenable Coldwraith. Also; being a bulky 4 drop helps...

Cobalt Scalebane is a great follow-up to Water Elemental turning it into a 6/6. This is also useful later in the game where Elementals have Lifesteal.

Bone Drake cycles itself and has an acceptable body. The dream is Sindragosa of course.

Primordial Drake is a boardclear and a stalling card

Sindragosa is an 8/8/8; which is alright. But it's real shine is the Frozen Champions; which can be pinged with Frost Lich Jaina to spawn Water Elementals; AND giving a random Legendary.

Alexstrasza can either burn down the enemy or help stabilize after Ice Block

Frost Lich Jaina is the main reason for this deck! It gives the elementals in the deck Lifesteal; making it pretty hard to beat this deck lategame without bursting it. It also works really well with Sindragosa; which is the reason for the Dragons in the deck; to find additional copies of Sindragosa.

This deck is obviously theorycraft at this point; and could use with refinement, but I think it's a good concept and starting point. Feedback would be appreciated!

posted a message on Few days after ! Who is the best Hero ! [Thousands VOTES and going...]

I'll rate them all from 9th to 1st in my eyes:

9th - Bloodreaver Gul'dan - The only one that I would call bad. You glance at the card and think it's good; before you realize the conditions it would need to be any good at all:

    • Make it to at least Turn 10 as Warlock
    • Not discard this card
    • Actually play demons. Note the vast majority of demons either hurt you; making the first condition harder; or discard cards; making the second condition harder
    • Actually draw the card; which means tapping and more selfharm
    • Actually be able to play the card for 10 mana without dying. Note unless you have played Doomguard [Discards 2] Lakkari Felhound [Discards 2] or Felguard [Breaks a mana crystal]; which can actively hurt you playing this card in the first place; the only immediate impact on the board this card will give you; for 10 mana; is Voidwalker.

8: Shadowreaper Anduin - There are situations where this card creates dreams and memes. However; that is the key; situations. This card's battlecry is easily the most situational of the Death Knights; which is why; despite it's rather strong hero power; it is 8th.

7: Deathstalker Rexxar - Rexxar actually has a pretty good battlecry. However; it is build-a-beast that actually falls short. It's unreliable; and costs 2 mana to put a rather high cost beast into your hand. Usually; you will struggle to play the Zombeast and the card you draw and hero power. This loses you quite a bit of the value of Rexxar. It also plays for a control hunter; which is unclear if it's viable. Don't get me wrong; Rexxar is good. The others are just better.

6 - Valeera the Hollow - Stealthing the face is powerful. Shifting Shade is also very powerful. However; this is still in effect '9 mana do nothing'; and if you do not have Vanish in hand; you almost certainly immediately die the following turn; and even then; if you cannot capitalize on Vanish [Which also borderline requires Preparation in hand in order to do so...] you might be dead anyway. This card seems to require specific cards in hand [And a large hand size] to work. But IF it works? It's strong.

5 - Thrall, Deathseer - Firstly; a question. If you have enough of a board where spending 5 mana to cast Evolve twice is a good play... why not just use Bloodlust and win? Secondly; Evolve itself is unreliable. There's a lot of minions; especially as you go higher in cost; with horrible bodies reliant on their battlecries. However; the potential in Evolve is undeniable; and the fact that this card can just immediately win the game if you have a board already isn't a joke either. That sheer potential to possibly just win instantly is why this gets so high; despite all the flaws.

4 - Malfurion the Pestilent - It just dosen't do enough to be higher.

3 - Scourgelord Garrosh - The weapon and Hero power are basically a death knell for any token based deck that lets a Warrior get this out. In addittion; the Hero Power; while detrimental to the opponent; is very useful for the massive amount of Warrior cards which do something when they; or any minion; are harmed. Expect to see Trolden clips of insane stuff happening. The reason this isn't higher is while this hero is certainly very powerful; it dosen't help you stabilize like the other two.

2 - Uther of the Ebon Blade - This card is insane. There is only one reason why I did not put it as #1. And that is because; against a Paladin; who would almost certainly be running this card; the other player would almost certainly keep back any weapon removal they have for it. Without the Grave Vengance; this card loses a lot of it's stabilization. Seriously; that's the only reason this isn't #1.

1 - Frost Lich Jaina - Control Mage's biggest weakness has always been after the Block is popped. Now; they can heal up. Water Elemental is a 4 mana card in it's own right. Playing a Water Elemental and gaining 5 mana might as well be Shield Block. That's 7 mana of value in the battlecry alone; before you count the value of Lifesteal on a 3/6; AND on any elementals you may have.

But this card also keeps getting value afterwards. If at any point a minion is at 1HP; you get to ping it and summon another Water Elemental with Lifesteal. This is potentially even more value than Uther of the Ebon Blade can create; especially as on Turn 8 [Or Turn 10; to combine it with a ping]; a Mage can play Sindragosa which creates two Frozen Champion [Oh yay there's two tokens with the same name] tokens. Which leaves you opponent wanting to kill 0/1's that give you a Legendary; because otherwise you get free Water Elemental.

This card is crazy. It's reliance on minions having 1HP for maximum value would have put it #2 if not for Uther's weakness to weapon removal however.

posted a message on Disguised Toast: 80% of the Cards are garbage

Reminder that while a lot of cards may be bad now there is only 1 more expansion in this standard format; and after that one; Mean Streets; Karazhan and Old Gods rotate out.

So a lot of cards may become relevant then.

posted a message on What I want to say after the warlock card release in Knight of Frozen Throne recently, by a big fan of Warlock.

    Quote from MojoJojo21619 >>

They didn't solve warlocks main problem.  Lack of a big heal tool.  A 2hp lifesteal single target spell and a demon revive legend.  Really Blizzard?  Why not a lifesteal demon?  That would surely have made a lot more sense.

Warlock is dead in standard.  Whoever is designing warlock and hunter cards atm needs to be fired.

    Quote from Legend_Entomber >>

Team 5 didn't realize how bad the state of Warlock would be after Un'Goro expansion, but they have already designed most cards for KFT earlier this year. If they wanted to fix anything for this class, the better Warlock cards wouldn't come until the winter 2017 expansion or even the spring 2018 expansion....

The cycle of making an entire expansion and balance testing ect is likely long enough that the next set is in production before the previous one even hits live. [Designers are designing new cards; theme; ect while Blizzard is testing/QA].

So Frozen Throne was probobly already pretty far in development by the time the state of Warlock was known. It's the next expansion where you're likly to see Warlock help.

For other examples; see how in Naxx; the dead class was Shaman. GvG didn't help Shaman; and then TgT printed some really strong Shaman cards. Or the state of Priest in WotOG and then Purify happened [Which was a meme card until Un'Goro]

posted a message on My own prediction regarding the Hunter class...

Hunter won't be the lowest class; Warlock will still be.

Midrange hunter is just as; if not stronger than it was previously; since they can discover additional Highmanes. Hunter's biggest issue later in the game was running out of steam; and Deathstalker Rexxar fixes that.

posted a message on Which deck makes you say "Damn, I will quit this game!"?

Pirate Warrior and Quest Rouge made me basically quit the game during Un'Goro.

If you're not playing a counter to those decks; you might as well concede Turn 1 as soon as you find out it is that deck. And since those decks are quick wins; they become cancer infesting ladder and casual [Quest wins] and playing anything else is a pain.

The fact both those decks basically play on autopilot and take no skill at all to use dosen't help.

posted a message on Cards to watch for the upcoming meta?

Cards on my watchlist for Priest:

Prophet Velen and Malygos - With the addition of Shadow Essence these cards can be pulled from your deck for 6 mana. Why is this important? Because it enables Priest to do 20 burst in a single turn by pulling one of these cards and double Mind Blast. Even if these cards die; Priest can OTK with Eternal Servitude and Malygos with Holy Smite thrown in. And with Shadow Visions and Lyra the Sunshard... don't write off that combo. Even on Turn 6; you can Shadow Essence in your 'Spell Priest' and throw down a 5/5 threat that basically says 'deal with me or else' that then gets added to the Eternal Servitude pool; so it's like a lose-lose for the enemy.

Shadow Ascendant could well enable a tempo priest. Turn 1 Northshire Cleric into this card is 10 stats on the board on Turn 2. And on three there is Drakkari Enchanter which will make this card proc twice. This could very quickly snowball out of control. Remember; Kabal Talonpriest and Power Word: Shield both exist to help this card survive. Worst case; this card's threat of buffing forces a trade or removal. Best case; the tempo you get from the buffs just outright wins you the game.

In a similar vein; Cobalt Scalebane could see play in that same Tempo deck. But it'll also probobly see play in other Priest archetypes. Priest of the Feast has 6 health on Turn 4; so it's not exactly difficult to imagine it being alive on Turn 5. Also; Drakkari Enchanter followed by coin Cobalt Scalebane. Or a Turn 8 7/5 and 5/5. Also; Scalebane is a Dragon. So Dragon Priest. To be completely honest; Cobalt Scalebane is just a good card in general. Pit Fighter is a vanilla 5/6 for 5. This card sacrifices 1 health for the Dragon tag and it's effect.

I should probobly mention Drakkari Enchanter considering I've mentioned two cards that work with it that are good in Priest; but this is also a 1/5; and thus a target for Inner Fire Divine Spirit decks.

Obsidian Statue will almost certainly mean an increase in Stonehill Defender.

Control Priest may run Tainted Zealot to pump up Spirit Lash; Dragonfire Potion and Holy Nova; especially as the Divine Shield lets it survive the prior two. Spirit Lash in particular is far more powerful with Spell Damage; and can be a total blowout against Aggro and Token decks.

Spell-heavy decks such as the aforementioned Malygos/Velen/Lyra deck will probobly run Embrace Darkness because if you're not playing minions; there's nothing for them to trade into to stop it.

posted a message on Top 5 cards from new expansion

5: Coldwraith - 3 mana 3/4 is already a great body that 2-for-1's with almost all 2 drops; and 1 for 1's with all 3 drops that do not have a downside. Then; it draws you a card i anything on the board is Frozen. With Freeze Shaman cards being added; giving two classes the ability to Freeze your minions; as well as Mage itself having multiple cards that Freeze; this card is both fine to just play on curve; but also is great to combo with a Freeze effect later. I expect this to be a 2-of in every Mage deck; and with the meta probobly slowing down; Freeze and Combo Mages will be more common.

4: Stitched Tracker - Helps Hunters keep up the aggro/midrange by looking for the card you need. This can create extra Savannah Highmane. That in itself should say how good this card is. 2/2 isn't the best body for 3 mana; but 3 mana 2/2 'Discover a Minion in your deck'? Kabal Courier is a good card with the same statline and that can completely whiff *and* one slot is taken by [ha] Warlock.

3: Shadow Ascendant The 2 drop Priest needs. Turn 1 Northshire Cleric turn 2 Shadow Ascendant is 10 stats on board on Turn 2; with the ability to draw cards and snowball even further. Priest can also protect this with Power Word: Shield. I think this is under-the-radar; but is really; really good. Considering cards like Happy Ghoul also exist; as well as the 3 drop Drakkari Enchanter existing; I can totally see this card enabling a Tempo Priest. [If Ascendant -> Enchanter happens; you have a 3/7 Turn 3 and a 2/2]

2: Ice Fishing will probobly be teched into every Shaman deck. Even played outside of Murloc Shaman; Shamans can use this to find Brrrloc; Bluegill Warrior; Coldlight Oracle; Deadscale Knight or Bilefin Tidehunter; all low-cost Murlocs with a utility effect. As a class that traditionally has little to no reliable draw...

1: Eternal Servitude - Priests can get away with running a small amount of minions. Due to this; this card is insanely good at finding the minions you want to ressurect. 2 of in every Priest deck.

posted a message on Warlock Hero Reveal - Bloodreaver Gul'dan

All these people calling this card good need to consider the class it is in.

For this card to be good; you have to fulfill several conditions:

1: Make it to Turn 10; at least [Some Warlock cards cost you Crystals]; with a class notorious for self-harm; and who's primary archetype is aggro.

2: You need to actually draw the thing [Without burning it]

    3: Not discard it.

4: Actually play demons; the vast majority of them have downsides which make #1 harder; or make #3 harder.

5: Be in a board state where you can spend 10 mana to do nothing initially without losing

See the problem here? The dream is you bring back cards like Doomguard that actually have an immediate impact on the board; but to bring back Doomguard or Lakkari Felhound which might save you with Taunt; you'd actually have had to play them without discarding your Hero.

This card is bad. Sure; once in a blue moon the stars might align where the game hasn't ended one way or another by Turn 10 in a game with Warlock; and you've managed to play multiple high-value Demons to ress without discarding the Hero or killing yourself. But the VAST MAJORITY of games; this is useless.

posted a message on So the theme of priest is to play my opponents deck?

The theme of Priest is cheating.

They either create new cards; play multiple copies of cards in their decks; exceeding the 2 of limit; or play the opponent's cards. Even their quest breaks the standard rules of the game; giving them 40 health.

There's plenty of great cards, classes and neutrals are all looking to be interesting this set. Maybe this meta will see something besides aggro every other match and bring some freaking variety into the game.

Hate to break it to you; but regardless of how much Blizzard pushes control [And they have been pushing control really; really hard this expansion] ladder will always be mostly Aggro simply due to game speed.

posted a message on New Priest Card Reveal - Shadow Essence

I think this card will be meta-defining for Preist.

6 mana for a 5/5 in terms of raw body isn't the best; but the thing is; Priest can get away far; far better than any other class with running few minions. This card lets those minions go further; letting Preist pull the high value minions from their deck even without drawing them.

While the obvious might be Obsidian Statue there are other cards which are actually great value if this card pulls them. For example; in a Lyra deck; Radiant Elemental is pretty good as a 5/5; being harder to remove than usual; while you still have said card in your deck. A 5/5 Acolyte of Agony isn't bad. A 5/5 Shadow Ascendant is pretty cool too. Dragon Priests would love having extra Bone Drakes. And whatever the Preist pulls can then be added to the pool for Eternal Servitude to pull. Hell; 5/5 Gadgetzan Auctioneer if you're playing heavy spell Priest. 5/5 Bloodmage Thalnos threatens massive heal from Spirit Lash. You can even pull Malygos or Prophet Velen if you're so inclined, and double Mind Blast on the same turn for 20 damage.

I think this will likly be run in every single Preist deck. Not to mention you can dig up copies of this card with Shadow Visions. Hell; this card may even make a new Priest deck on it's own that runs minimal minions and goes for the aformentioned Turn 10 Malygos Double Mind Blast.
