Friday Fun Decks - Week 7

Friday Fun Decks

What's better than after a long week of grinding things out at work, school or Ranked Ladder to kick back and relax with some Friday Fun Decks going into the weekend?

Well, we brought you a selection of decks to do just that. There's some standard decks, some wild decks, but most of all these are decks with interesting cards that haven't seen much use, Archetypes that have been forced out by better competition in the same class and combos that are often too unreliable to see play on the Ranked Ladder, but they are FUN. Truth be told though not everyone's idea of fun will be the same, so we cast a wide net and hopefully brought something for everyone.

Let's dive in!

Quest Steal Priest

"Anything you can do, I can do better. I can do anything better than you." That seems to be the theme of this Standard deck. It's a little tricky to set up the initial thievery, but when you have the quest, the fun begins. And honestly, 1 in 5 times it works every time.

This is not the only highlight for user MarkMcKz lately. We already showcased his Highkeeper Ra with every class video in a previous Friday Fun Decks , but he followed it up with something even crazier: Summoning Highkeeper Ra with a deck that does not have any Mogu Cultist in it. At this point he is just lapping the field in the crazy deck ideas and execution competition. Check it out!

Reno Mill Mage

There's no guide for this Wild deck, which is definitely a shame, because the idea caught our eye. We just had to spend some time looking through the decklist to figure out what the likely plan is.

By our estimation it is intended to first complete the Quest and have the reward. Then have Archmage Vargoth and Molten Reflection in hand for the first turn, putting a bunch of Vargoths on the board, and then on your second turn to play Drakkari Enchanter, Violet Illusionist and the actual Mill trigger Research Project. If we did the math right this should be some 16 cards drawn for both sides. That's a lot of potential damage!

Kingsbane Rogue

Here's a throwback Wild deck, Kingsbane Rogue. We at Friday Fun Decks feel it's a shame that even though the Warcraft franchise has so many iconic weapons, that the card game version seems to have an aversion in making actual weapon decks viable and fun.

So hopefully this deck scratches the same itch for you that it did for us: spending some time making a powerful weapon and hitting people with it.

Budget Murloc Shaman

Cheap fun! This Wild deck clocks in at less than 1000 dust total and has a really awesome guide to help you understand how to play it and what upgrades can be made to the deck if you like it and at what cost those come.

You just know that in a week where we get to fight the Plague Lord of Murlocs that there had to be a Murloc deck in the Friday Fun Decks. Mrrggll Mrrggll Mrrggll!

Hir'eek Zoo Warlock

Handbuff Warlock, the archetype we never knew we needed and the archetype that Blizzard also basically never really gave to us. Still people try every so often to build the deck list that will finally make this work.

This Standard deck is one such attempt, and we loved it. The basic Zoo shell keeps the game on track, while new Saviors of Uldum addition History Buff is a new way to potentially make Hir'eek the formidable threat that he is supposed to be.

Aggro Quest Hunter

Often times trying out a deck comes at a cost in dust that is hard to justify if the cards are not fairly universally useful. Trying out Quest decks typically means also investing in several other legendaries and epics, which can be a problem if you want to try some of the less used Quests.

This Wild deck doesn't have this problem. The only real cost is the actual Quest card, and we are going to assume you at least have that if you want to try this deck. So, have some fun with an under used Quest in a dust friendly way!

Mana Addict Paladin

"I CAN TASTE THE MANA!". Some things never leave you, and Mana Addict has one of those sound effects that are intertwined with the early days of Hearthstone for us. It will always be a nostalgia trip hearing it.

This Standard deck tries to use and abuse both Mana Addict and Questing Adventurer (another old favourite) with potent Paladin buffs to create an aggressive deck meant to overwhelm. "WHAT A RUSH!"

That's it for this "Friday Fun Decks", hope you find these decks as fun and interesting as we did when we put this list together. If not, why not post your idea of a fun deck in the comments, for future inspiration to us and the rest of the community!

Cheers and have a good Weekend!
