Honestly, it seems to be one of the worst feelings to draw this floating watcher pirate on turn 1, making it more difficult to win by what I think to be a substantial margin and waste of time. Patches the Pirate may be broken, but I'm not too sure about that when I draw him turn one.
If you have Southsea Captain or Ships Cannon you can still bounce back. If you don't have either by turn 3 or 4, you're probably too far behind in the mirror.
On a serious note, I don't play a lot of Pirate Warrior, but other decks do run the Pirate Package so it's less of a win condition there, so no you shouldn't concede.
Actually the idea is fine for me. They just messed up by addin patches into the pirate tribe. Imagine this card being a murloc or like an elemental, those decks aren't really that fast and won't fit into each class. I can imagine that they will add a 1 mana 1/1 windfury/taunt/stealth (actually 1 man 1/1 stealth is missing lol)/divine shield and whatever more like that
It depends on what you want. If you are trying to climb the ladder, automatically conceding any game where you draw patches would be pretty dumb, since you still have fair chances to win. Your opponent can misplay, have a worse opening hand than you, disconnect part way through, or whatever else could happen.
If you are just playing for fun and would rather only play the patches combo with complete disregard for your win ratio or ladder ranking, then sure, go ahead and concede.
Depends on your hand and what you're playing. If you're playing Pirate Warrior with Captains you can still utilize Patches and win the game. If you're playing Aggro Shaman you should never concede because it's still good with Flametounge.
The only time I would ever concede is if you have no 1,2 or 3 drops (like if you draw all your burn damage which is fairly unlikely)
I noticed that i get patches more often when i play pirate warrior. Prolly just coincidence but from my dectracker stats when i play pirate paladin or shaman it just doesnt happen so often... Maybe because you mulligan more cards as pirate warrior.
About the thread. NO! YOU SHOULDNT CONCEDE!
Why? As pirate warrior you may use patches to activate upgrade or with southsea captian. As shaman you may use it as 1 mana deal 3 dmg with flametongue. As paladin there are many buffs so its always nice to have some charger in hand.
It's funny it just happened to me several minutes ago against wild egg druid. I was doing this warrior victory quest. I won that game. Yes yes I know. 😄
never concede...you can use it later if you drag Cultist and you need a cheap pirate, or if your oppo plays behemot when you were thinking to play Arcanite Reaper...that way you have 6 damages to remove it and swing with other minions in the face...it can still be useful in some way :)
Most PW players I meet in Casual concede instantly when something doesn't go the standard way to their win. And then there's the guy I met yesterday who played Fiery War Axe into N'Zoth's First Mate, this one stayed and fought bravely unto his death, I salute him!

[Insert obligatory Patches hate here]

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
Let the control deck laugh as they realize patches is in your opening hand.
I once drew patches turn 1 3 games in a row. ~1% chance. I just threw my phone and uninstalled.

Just remember the good times!
Of course not you'd still have a 32% chance of winning if you're playing pirate warrior (according to stats reported by Disguised Toast).
I've won many games while Patches was in my opening hand. It's a lot harder and you are not favored to win, but it's most certainly possible.
Edit: I mainly play patches in aggro shaman, and there you can save him to combo with Flame-tongue totem, which is still quite a strong play.
Should you craft/disenchant (Golden) Sylvanas or Ragnaros?

yes please ^^
But now seriously, I've lost games to pirates, even though they had patches in hand. It all depends on whether you will draw better later on.
it does not matter so much if you are playing shaman or rogue...
in PW, it is horrible and you will loose most of the time.

It's still a better turn 1 play than southsea deckhand.
.. no

Death to all who oppose the Horde!

Ofcourse you should, you're playing Patches
