I just opened a golden Thekal in the free pack today, so might as well give this list a shot.

posted a message on [RoS] Control Fatigue Value Shaman *UPDATED*

I've been trying out this deck list and haven't had much success with it at all.  It seems like its way too easy for my opponent to cheat out a massive board with something like cairne into khadgar and suddenly I lose because my opponent has a full board of midrange minions for 7 mana.  Hagatha's scheme can work, but only at that point if I've had it in my hand since turn one.  Same thing happens with a resurrect priest, where they get a full board of minions with 12+ health each using a single card, and then play something like divine spirit/inner fire the next turn for an OTK if I can't deal with everything right away.

Have you considered adding more card draw methods to try and get to these cards faster?  Maybe adding in spirit of the frog and some more lower cost spells in order to help cycle into answers like hex and hagatha's scheme more easily.

As a side note, Proud Defender seems kind of anti-synergetic with the shaman class, considering how likely it is that we will have one of our totems still alive on the board when its played out.  Sunreaver warmage also feels underwhelming, since it's so reliant on getting either hagatha's scheme or a rain of toads to be useful.  And even then it just doesn't feel quite good enough.

If you're light on dust, give it at least another week before crafting anything.  Then you'll have a better idea if bomb warrior is really the deck this meta or if its just the thing that works well in the first day or two before other decks figure themselves out.  If after 2 weeks its still strong and blizzard has made no indication of nerfs, then I'd say its pretty safe to craft.

I tend to figure that these cards are going to be in standard for the next two years, and there is a high chance that the vast majority of them will find their way into some meta deck at some point.  So I'm not too concerned with whether a particular legendary will be in a tier 1 deck or not, if it looks interesting I'll give it a shot.  But I did also start this expansion with 33k dust, so I have a bit more freedom to try things out than some might.

Aggro decks don't really need to worry too much about this.  Midrange and control decks will want to run ooze or ford as techs, most control decks will probably want to run elysiana.  But it does say something when you need to include 2 or 3 cards in your deck just so you don't lose out right to a particular deck.

posted a message on Silence Priest is back (OP)?

I've also been playing silence priest and find it quite powerful.  I've won most of my games at rank 4 and 5 with it.  My decklist is a bit different though, instead of trying for a divine spirit/inner fire combo wombo, I just fill the board with over stated minions, hit face and follow up with mind blast/leeroy.

That would basically destroy the playability of secret mage in particular and really secrets overall.  A better option would be to either a) increase the stats on eater of secrets or b) improve the quality of secrets in both Paladin and Hunter so that eater of secrets is relevant in more matchups than it is currently.  Secrets are too key to the mage class right now for a single card that destroys all secrets AND deals a significant amount of face damage to be included.

What about replacing hungry crab with golakka crawler?  I feel it would help against the mirror and do quite strongly against pirate warriors, which seem to always be quite common.  Or is it better to just have the 1 drop?

I'd say if you don't have any other decks in particular you want to craft, you likely aren't going to regret crafting whatever you are missing and it will help you get up to rank 5 very quickly.  If there is another deck that you want to craft though, a midrange hunter will serve the same purpose while likely being cheaper.

This is definitely my case. I have all the decks i want atm even midrange hunter which you mentioned. The only thing i doubt about PW is it competitive right now on rank 13-5 this season.
Well, taking a look at the vS Data Reaper Report from last week, pirate warrior has the highest win rate of any deck until you reach legend (where it is 4th).  So it sounds to me like you shouldn't be worrying much about its competitiveness.

posted a message on What do you think of the Un'Goro meta
    Quote from oddlyshapedlamp >>

Why should how long you have been playing invalidate your opinion of your enjoyment of the meta?

New players can't really compare the current meta to older metas they didn't play in, so they are just comparing it with perhaps mean streets or even old gods.  A comparison between just Un'Goro and mean streets will obviously lead to people believing the current meta is amazing, considering how bad the last one was.  It wouldn't be particularly accurate to say that this is the best meta ever or better than average without actually having experienced a majority of the metas the game has experienced.  It isn't that new players' opinions aren't valuable, just that when the question is essentially asking us to compare with past metas, a new player's opinion won't really accurately reflect the quality of this one compared with much older ones.

posted a message on Biggest misconception in UnGoro

I like the randomly generated card mechanics.  It tends to make the games more interesting and varied, rather than having very similar outcomes in any particular match-up.  It especially makes games against mages interesting, since they have so many cards based around creating random cards (or discovering).

I also feel it is another way to allow players to differentiate themselves by skill.  Even random cards can be played around to some extent, and discovered cards can totally be played around, so the people who are more knowledgeable about the cards available in the game and more skillful at deciding when/if they are able to play around a card will do better than those who don't.

I've never played it myself because I don't have patches and don't have the southsea captains.  I was considering crafting them, but decided to go with midrange Paladin instead.  I like the deck a lot more, even though I'm not winning with it.  The games are just a lot more interesting and fun to play.

I'd say if you don't have any other decks in particular you want to craft, you likely aren't going to regret crafting whatever you are missing and it will help you get up to rank 5 very quickly.  If there is another deck that you want to craft though, a midrange hunter will serve the same purpose while likely being cheaper.
