I love the "for free" part, 130$ free :]
Academic Espionage seems a bit overrated, maybe the effect seemed so insane that people thought it had to be good.
It gives miracle rogue 30% more miracle. +20 cards to scroll through basically for free. Sprint and Gadgetzan Auctioneer will draw you all the stuff you ever dreamed about and Tess Greymane will double the value.
Can't wait to see how accurate this is!
Fun scores, we'll see how they hold up.
All the more reason to not rush in and craft expensive cards for a few weeks after release. I made the mistake with Ungoro and crafted Lakkari Sacrifice. People said it was such a good card, 2 weeks later it was said to be horrible. Lesson learned.
I hope you didn't dust it yet cuz new legendary spell is really great for it.
The top ten must be based on fun not how actually good the card is. Some are actually good but some are not that good
How long do you think it'll be before everybody comes back to this page and say "boy were we wrong"?
If you want a good chuckle, look up the previous Compendiums. How about dat Dinomancy 84, or Stampede 86? Possessed Lackey 28? Don't forget Prince Keleseth 36, below Lilian Voss (41), Moorabi (49), and Uther of the Ebon Blade (84, the 4th highest rated card at the time).
Retrospective "whoops I was way off" is half the fun lol
To be fair, Uther of the Ebon Blade is a strong card, just that all the other death knights are absurdly strong. All the other cards have no excuses though lmao, granted I voted very good for Lilian Voss simply because I like the reference and it's a fun card so I guess I'm part of the issue.
Certainly true about Uther - it could really shine in the right situations - but 4th best? Malfurion the Pestilent is below the halfway mark IIRC DX
Well yeah he's horrible. Instead of being able to heal 1 and deal 1 damage, now you have to choose to deal damage OR heal damage? It's pretty clear the basic hero power is just strictly better. es joke
Well. In fact, Uther of the Ebon Blade is great, it just comes out not in the right time when Control Paladin in general is bad. Remember, Control Paladin was a real threat before Old Gods moved out? After N'Zoth, the Corruptor rotated out, Control Paladin had very few win condition while aggro style constantly doing better job in faster battles. He's now just there for the OTK and is rated high for that OTK potential which turned out very true. OTK Paladin even after MSG rotation is somewhat capable of LG rank climbing. I could say that Uther of the Ebon Blade does a great job at what people expect him to do in the first place and truely live up to expectation. When the meta that health is matter, Control Paladin may be better but not today. FeelsBadMan
Uther of the Ebon Blade is a decent card on paper. It's just that most of the other Death Knigths blow it out of the water just with their hero powers. It would have been good, if it came out a year earlier. And there has been no kind of support for the instant win condition since. Shadowreaper Anduin had Raza the Chained already, Frost Lich Jaina got Voodoo Doll along with several other new control tools, Bloodreaver Gul'dan got an insane new demon with Voidlord on top of already being a fantastic card, Deathstalker Rexxar got an important update, and Uther got nothing at all. Generally, there have been very few cards to support any kind of Control Paladin recently.
There are a few options in Wild to use your hero power multiple times, but I don't think the Paladin DK will ever matter in Standard.
Why is Pocket Galaxy rated so insanely high?
Because when people first looked at the card they were like "HOLY CRAP THAT'S BROKEN" instnatly rated it meta defining... then a couple days later or hours they rethought about it and realized it sucked without changing their vote. That goes with a lot of cards that are bad on paper, but great in practice or with more thought. Like how Myra's Unstable Element is rated 53
Weird to see that somehow Myra is better evaluated than her element.
I am very much confused on many of the ratings given. Dreampetal Florist is way overrated in standard, good luck not dying on such a tempo loss card with an RNG component. Wargear is not Magneticificent?
I really don't think the decks that will play Dreampetal Florist will care about a tempo loss. Plus, the RNG component of the card is redundant when the only minions that druid are playing are 5+ mana: any card that it lands on will be a good target.
