So, it didn't activate when I attacked a minion with divine shield. Is it intended? By the wording of a card, it should activate.
Given this card's flavor text, I propose that we call this card "Bubble Machine", just like how we call Noble Sacrifice "Get Down!"
wild secret paladin auto include
Does anybody know what happens if they attack a creature that already has divine shield? Does this basically get wasted?
Great if you get this from Hydrologist but I don't know if you'd put it straight into your deck.
Ever since Kodo went to wild Hydrologist was a little mediocre. With this, she finds purpose again.
I like it, this will be a fun secret
Great minion protection that will make our enemies trade 2 minions into this little one that they want to remove. Value generating card.
Noble Sacrifice is the best Paladin secret and this thing at the same level. Every Taunt can now have Divine shield. Could be great in Divine shield decks with Bolvar, Fireblood.
Throw this out with a mech to ensure it survives until you next turn for magnetic synergy. Or maybe can be played with the Bellringer Sentry in a secret deck. Not sold on it, just speculating.
Protects early game minions, damages opponents minions, and potential Synergy with Bolvar, Fireblood. With some careful planning this card could be very useful.
I think it would be a decent pick from Hydrologist, but as a standalone card it would just be a more clumsy version of Hand of Protection, which isn't in any deck I know of. Maybe in Wild with Mysterious Challenger, just to mix up the secrets a bit to make it harder to play around them.
The difference with this and Hand of Protection is that the Divine Shield is not visibly on the field. So this is a case where you can actually use Divine Shield defensively whereas Hand of Protection would be used offensively because the shield can not be pinged off as easily. If Druid and Rogue are prevalent in the meta though, then this card is far less useful.
The best thing about this card isn't actually how powerful it is (although the effect is pretty good). The best thing is the psychological impact on opponents when playing against your secrets. It makes them hesitant to drive their lone big minions into your big minions (e.g. you have a The Lich King and they have a Mountain Giant; do they risk the trade or not attack at all?) and makes your average taunt minions (e.g. Tar Creeper) even more annoying to deal with. Also, it could trick mages/druids/rogues into wasting a Fireball/Swipe/Eviscerate on a taunt to avoid multiple chump-trades (that may not actually exist).
Yes! A good Paladin secret! I love Paladin secrets for being tiny and cheap but this is flavorful and useful!
Turn 1: Autodefense Matrix
Turn 2: Anything you want it's not gonna die
Except it's completely useless if you throw out a Divine Shield minion, assuming the secret only checks if the minion's being attacked.
All told, assuming it procs without checking that the minion already has a bubble, Noble Sacrifice works so much better for the same payoff.
Divine Shield Ex Machina
Very strong secret and you could even combo it with Noble Sacrifice. Obviously that is not the best way to use it, but it is almost like having an untargetable Shielded Minibot with taunt for the same cost minus the health.
This is something I have wanted for paladin, for long time. It's not amazing, but it work greatly.
