As usual, a card that's decent for mage in standard adds to the heap of degenerate cards in wild.
Cost reduction and cheap draw is why were are in this mess... STOP IT!
*audible sigh*
We never learn do we...? This card alone will bring mage back to the top tier competitive. But wait, there's more! Opponent doesn't play minions? Wand thief becomes premium, alongside discoveries from arcane studies.
Horray for MORE mana-cheating!
Kind of frustrating to see them supporting the archetype almost no one wants them to, but this card is much better balanced than incanters flow. Completely broken card in wild though, jaina basically has infinite mana there at this stage.
This is a quite suitable substitute for Incanter's Flow if you are playing minions in your deck because you don't lose as much tempo. Effect is weaker but it is cheaper and kills you a minion. I think this is great.
The entire hand and deck will be 0-cost Pyroblasts.
Oh great, a mage direct damage spell that can both hit face, OR cheat mana!
STOP PRINTING THESE KIND OF CARDS
I don't think this is like... crazy-crazy. 2 damage for 2 mana is *so weak* on a card. Lining up 2 damage isn't that difficult, though, so you're pretty likely to get the HK proc.
Ehh... the Quest Mage nerf makes sense if this is the sort of cards mage is getting this expansion.
Runed orb is already run in quest mage decks and is very similar to this card in that it deals 2 damage for 2 and covers the arcane school requirement. The question is if this card deserves the slot instead of Runed Orb or if it’s better to reliably discover a card. I’m leaning towards just running both, or maybe 2 orbs and one of these.
I mean generating a spell is *a lot* better than potentially discounting your hand. But we'll see.
EDIT: Never mind, I didn't notice it could go face. Why can it go face.
Broken as hell. As always.
Finally! Mana cheating for mage!
Mage was missing mana reduction Kappa At least this reduces way less spells than your whole deck.
