Easily the most oppressive card in Standard.
There's exactly three ways playing this card can work out:
The fact it needs to survive the spell is the main thing holding it back. Mage runs so many deal 2 effects being able to kill it is a non-issue. It only starts to get scary if you toss high value buffs on it, but that seems too specific to justify running.
I agree with most of what you said, except the its only scary with high value buffs. If you can get it up to about 4 health or higher this guy becomes a problem you can't ignore as 3 damage is usually the breaking point for a lot early game spells. Paladin, Druid, and now Priest can buff this very easily early on. and the high value buffs that are too specific can just be game ending if you manage to pull it off.
Elephant Priest loves this. Stick an Elephant mount on this bad boy and its GG
TROGDOOOOOOOOOOOOR
WE SUMMON! NOT YOU!
TROGG NO STUPID
The art on this card looks sick!
It’s funny because big spell mage is shaping up and this does virtually nothing against that list.
Yes die mage, die
This is so perfect for Paladins. Quest and handbuff will both use this!
Blistering Rot is also good for handbuff and kinda similar to this card as well..
This card is straight up busted in so many matchups. Basically prevents them from using coin if you go first. Gold in handbuff Paladin also.
Blistering Rot is also good for handbuff you know..
This is going to be broken in the current token Druid deck. If you can drop this on turn 1, it punishes the Coin and can create an irritating situation for decks like secret Paladin or quest Mage.
Tech card against mage
