I play exclusively Wild; and most of my Wild decks are Reno. This card could screw up the Reno state of my deck. So unless I find a really compelling reason to add this to my decks I very sadly will ignore this card. It desperately needs Taunt or Rush to make it worthwhile.
So did I. I've no idea why.
Lightshower Elemental
has Taunt, +2 Attack and Heals for 8 (wich is 2 x Trade with 4 Attack Divine Shield Lifesteal) and it has better Synergy with Xyrella imho.
More like Meh'da.
Lightshower Elemental stops damage, removes threats plus heals your face AND board for 8 at the same turn. Meh'da just drops on the board and does nothing. If you somehow survive though it's a prime target for Elekk Mount which would also work nicely with the Quest.
Spirit Guide synergy? Kinda but I don't think you want to play the curve 6 -> 5 if you want to finish your Quest. That's just bad in general. Besides thanks to divine shield Meh'da might not die soon enough for that anyways.
This card could be nuts in a different time but right now I don't see it work out.
I dont know why people compare this card to Lightshower Elemental if they serve very different purposes. One is good vs aggro, the other is good vs control. Decks that win from hand usually ignore Lightshower (seedlock, any spell mage), but they cant ignore Mida. It also provides infinitely more value on longer games,
Clearly this is a 6 cost fill in for questline priest. This goes good with the new 3 cost card Horn of Wraithion, and also compliments Insight, Thrive in the Shadows, and Devout Dungeoneer to quickly draw the right cards.
Doesn't help against OTK nor impact the boart the moment it lands.
It is essentially useless in our current (standard) meta, but who knows. All solitaire archetypes got nerfed and despite of the OTK still present we have some board centered strategies once again. If we ever get back to a value town meta this dude will definitely helps alongside Xyrella's hero card and stuff.
They really never make decent Priest legendaries do they. Way to slow. Will only be used in DR decks and even then its not needed.
Would you play this over Lightshower Elemental?
Probably not.
this card does not solve priest's problematic matchups like going against OTK or infinite damage decks, priest was already decent in slower matchups, the card that really helped priest (Illucia) was unnecessarily nerfed, this new generation of HS developers are incredibly stupid and incompetent and it shows
I think it's important to note that the shard is holy, so there's a few ways to reliably draw it in a deck with no other holy spells. Ironically enough, might work really well in a shadow big death rattle priest.
It has fantastic synergy with Spirit Guide in Shadow Priest. After your Mi'da, Pure Light dies, Spirit Guide will always summon (her?) back on deathrattle, which will help you trigger the deathrattle additional times, making your Xyrella, the Devout shuffle several copies into your deck eventually, making a pretty unbeatable control endgame.
Realistically it probably won't be all that amazing right now, since we still have too many combo decks, but I wouldn't be surprised if this deck becomes a staple after the rotation.
This card can snowball quite fast if you get it back with Raise Dead, dupe it with Psyche Split, or get multiple ones out from Amulet of Undying.
The problem is that when you spend that 6 mana for the first summon, it does absolutely nothing for you. Without Taunt, your opponent can just ignore it and smash your face in. Even if you revive multiples of it from Amulet or by drawing the fragments, they just sit there for the first turn, not exerting any pressure at all.
I'm not very optimistic on this card really.
I really like this, it's a great addition to any midrange priest deck. I think primarily it'll find it's home in deathrattle priest, but hopefully we'll start to see more variations of that deck.
Waxadred *cough*
This is much better, though. In a class that can make better use of it.
This has immediate impact when played, as well as being in a better control class. It's just an obviously pushed and good card that'll see play in any slower priest deck.
ETA: Somehow I parsed this as having taunt. I be idiot sometimes.
Better control deck when compared with other classes, but Rogue vs Priest control or whatever style you want, Rogue wins the priest assuming decent draws for both.
No my dear, it has NO immediate impact when it's played! If it had Taunt, it would have in a way.
How did I parse that as having taunt? My bad there.
