It's better than Volcano in a lot of cases. And absolutely viable in quest Shaman to keep them alive.
Seems good for quest. Shaman kinda lacks good mid-game board clears and this is extremely versatile.
Too expensive. Even lightning storm is better than this
its better than lightning storm against a midrange or tall boardstate.
Unless you wanna destroy something with 4 health or pop a divine shield.

Probably too expensive to make it into quest but good for general control. Problem is, it does not fit in any current archetypes
It's not actually that good for control/combo. Against three minions, it deals about the same damage as lightning storm, which is notably cheaper. It overloads into your massive stall turns. It's a relatively weak wipe, functions better as ST removal, honestly - would improve, say, paladin MUs, if it could remove two of their minions. Which it can't.
I don't see this fitting into current OTK lists.
This is better than Volcano in every aspect. Sure it doesn't deal 15 damage, but it allows you to have minions on board as well.
Not every aspect - control would far prefer Volcano. As would combo, honestly. I don't see Bolner/Y'sharrj OTK cutting anything for this.

I hope so too. Shaman needed a fire spell for clearing in standard. I also wish shaman gets a cool weapon or new totem too!
