This would be DOA without tradeable.
WITH tradeable, it’s actually very good.
Does casting it with the clumsy courier prevent you from making the picks too?
This is clearly intended for these big mage decks, but autocasting this via the many intended ways to cheat it out mean you don't get to choose.
10 mana 2 faerie dragons, value city
I wonder what the three worst dragons are, so you're forced to pick the third worst each time.
Looks like a solid Arena card, at least.
This is the sort of card I've been waiting to see in mage, but the anti-synergy with automatic cast effects is frustrating. But it's also just likely insane if you cheat it out anyway. Even like... Brightwing and Circus Amalgam is just a lot of stats.
Also because you can put it back into the deck, you can make your Iceblood Towers not totally useless.
AND it's a fire spell, so there's that synergy with Dawngrasp. It also means you're not necessarily running like... Flamestrike and Mask of C'thun which can have anti-synergy.
I think this has potential.
Also by process of elimination, the last legendary is a mage card. So probably we'll see Onyxia and the Mage Legendary tomorrow or later today.
why would mask of c’thun have anti synergy with this as a shadow spell?
He’s saying Mask of C’thun and Flamestrike don’t run well together. Many board states that can to Flametrike’d can also be dealt with using Mask, and when using Dawngrasp Hero, it always sucks to have Mask cast first, only to be followed with a flamestrike that does nothing. This being a fire spell allows you to put some stats on the board with Mage Hero.
Yes exactly. Mask of C'thun, Flamestrike, and Arcane Overflow override each other in annoying ways all the time.
Granted you USUALLY prefer to just... clear the board with Flamestrike. But getting Arcane Overflow and a pair of dragons is potentially going to be pretty nice.
Such an expensive, clunky card is perfect with Tradeable. Draw it early, you can easily cycle it back in for when it'll be relevant later.
That aside, Dragons right now are very, very, very top heavy. Of the 17 Dragons Mage has, 7 of them are 8/8 or higher, and only 4 of them cost 5 or less. Real highlights of the pool include: Plagued Protodrake, Runaway Blackwing, Sleepy Dragon, Deathwing the Destroyer, and Onyxia the Broodmother.
There is a glaring flaw, however. This pool is mostly filled with big stat beatsticks, and a lot of those cards don't have Rush, Taunt, or effects to be immediately relevant to the boardstate (you're looking at 3 - Blackwing, Sleepy Dragon, and Amalgam). And of course, if you cast this off Iceblood Tower the odds of getting garbage is much more likely. I don't think this card will make Big Spell Mage good, but it certainly does look like a ton of fun.
Seems good for big spell mage, maybe not two in deck. Expensive spells is really good with tradeable ;)
