2. Dragon priest is quite viable right now, don't look at tier lists for they are relevant to tournaments not ladder.
3. The upcoming nerfs to alot of classes is going to leave priest with the best removal in the entire game against shaman and it stands exceedingly solid against any type of freeze mage which I think will be a dominent deck after the nerfs.
So you are spamming, you aren't using any kind of logic and is also quite, QUITE wrong.
if you want to prove me, just saying... bring me numbers.
Do you even know what the nerfs are? It's only nerf to execute and rockbiter.. druids, warriors and mages still got way better removal than oriest.. and the priest match up against freeze mage is like.. 10/90.. favorable to the freeze mage. Priest is too slow and doesn't have enough heals to beat freeze mage.
I don't see a reason to play dragon priest over dragon warrior .

You are joking right? Priest outlives the freeze mage about 80% of the time, and if you add onto that the removal that priest gets, the mage isn't going to be able to deal enough damage to you to actually do anything useful. Meanwhile you are going to be silencing anything useful they put out that has 4 attack and rezzing your guys to keep tempo constantly in your favor.
As for mage having better removal? Really? Really? Unless the mage is stupid enough to waste his fireballs, portal, torches, ect on your minions (which you should be so lucky...), the priest takes mage by leaps and bounds. Hell, does he have a minion you envy? Take it for your own with entomb and some draw. Seriously you have to be playing in rank 15 or higher to be encountering mages that spam their spells. My guess is, you don't know the other decks well enough to know what is a threat or not against your priest, and as such are losing to those decks by spamming your removal on anything it fits on, which is the WRONG way to play period.
Clearly you have not heard of the Unicorn Priest, if you want to win as priest use the decks that I have made, if you can't craft them, you're a filthy casual
I had to laugh at "druids have better removal than priests. Yes, I wish I had Recycle and Mulch and Naturalize. Such epic removal options please nerf Blizz.

Not really a spam thread, i am just feeling frustrated after trying to play Priest (in rank 20 I shall say) only to learn that he seems the worst class ever.
What do you consider best removal in the game? Really?
About numbers, try to show me some yourself. Have you seen a legend Priest lately? Or even a priest deck in *any* tournament?

Well, I guess those facts speak for themselves.
I can't speak for Tournys, but in Legend, i see plenty. Granted I'm nowhere near the top 100 currently, but I see rez priests, dragon priests, and the occasional silence priest in Legend all the time when I try to play my mage (I swear it knows what decks to throw at me to counter me ;-) Anyway, as for removal, Excavate is easily one of the best removals in the game, but I can list all of priests good removals if you like, and they are both plentiful and powerful. Not to mention that Priest gets both direct damage removal spells as well as a ton of instant removal with zero damage which messes up warlocks and warriors a lot of times.
Priest has it's problems right now, sure. There's a lot of fun in the challenge of crafting a good/semi-functional Priest list, though.
Speaking to the comments about Priest being solid against Freeze Mage... In what world has that ever been true? I've played hundreds of games as Freeze Mage and I can probably count the number of games I've lost against a Priest on one hand. It's such a skewed matchup that I almost count almost every encounter with Priest as a free win as soon as I see Anduin's (and now Tyrande's) face. Unless they run an inordinate quantity of healing (I'm talking double Flash Heal, double Darkshire Alchemist, maybe even more on top of Justicar Trueheart's upgraded heal), which would be fairly poor in general, Alexstrasza into burn should be adequate to demolish any Priest through their heals, especially if you run Archmage Antonidas. As a Forgotten Torch variant, a decent Emperor Thaurissan discount and Bloodmage Thalnos should be enough as well. If the Freeze Mage knows what they're doing there's almost no winning for the Priest, barring the absolute garbage draw from the Mage.

I'm surprised so many people are convinced Priest has a chance against Freeze... If you really think Priest is favored you either never actually played the MU or always met bad Mage players.... Since new Priest builds run more healing than before the MU got a little better but it's far from being a good one.... Assuming both players know what they're doing, nobody runs unexpected tech cards or gets awful draws I'd say it's at least 70/30 for Freeze... Ofc you can't just play Alex, while sitting there with exactly 15 damage and hope to get away with it, but since Priest can't go over 30 HP a good ET discount with Thalnos should seal the deal...
priest is a bit under tone, we all know it by now.
afaik, there's a few legendary priest decks here in hearthpwn. Jeez, you could ladder through the lowest ranks with purify priest if you *really* wanted to!
So, after a while, continuous ranting that abuse the word unplayable becomes just an unjustified bias. To the point where the only fair answer is: PLAY ANOTHER CLASS.
Recently I got two Priest daily quests and I've been trying to do them, but priest is simply an unplayable class. Every other class seem able to get back into the game, or change it their way, even when priest is ahead on a match.
The only favourable match up I had is against ANOTHER PRIEST.
This is a shame, I've been playing Hearthstone for two years now and I consider myself a decent player, but there isn't a viable priest deck one can use anymore.
This is ridiculous.. Priest is very much dead. It's sad 'cause Priest has already been one of the best classes to play in the game.
Brians Kibler Ressurect Priest,Nzoth Priest,Dragon Priest and sometimes even Cthun Priest are viable in Standart. In Wild Priest ia literally a beast. Stop crying. Paladin and Rogue are on the worse spot.
Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
Nzoth priest is viable in standard , try the list used by a chinese player in the winter preliminaries.. is very good .
Btw since the 70 % of the standard ladder is shaman/hunter i decided to climb in wild this season .. and im using nzoth priest .. 2x lightbomb , piloted shredder, slidge belcher ecc .... this deck is a top tier in wild.
So if you love playng priest go wild , in standard its still playble but its not easy to climb with fast.

It is also a really good idea to switch to wild whenever you encounter a quest that wants you to play your "problem" class (and everyone has one, though for some people, their problem class just means they don't make it to the top 100 legendary for the area with it). In wild every class has a viable playlist for ranks as high as 5 (and should be able to get you to legendary if you really want to do it).
Oh wow, such a lot of smart persons consider priest as very competitive class. Let me please underline one think, dear priest masters.
If once in a blue noob you met priest who was very Lucky with draws and made some problems for you, or it was you Lucky enough for a couple of time. If so - it doesnt mean priest is competitive. Not 100% unplayble, but not competitive.
Lol, before saying, please check ladder 15 to Legend, then say.
It's not competitive because it's not represented by a large enough percentage-margin on ladder? So every deck that isn't shaman, hunter, or tempo/control warrior aren't competitive?

I'm guessing that this is the product of public schools. At least 3 different people (including myself) have made mention of legend priest decks out there, and more of us related our experience in 5-legendary running priest with few issues (though some decks are harder than others). That doesn't mean that the priest is an easy deck to run like it used to be. You actually have to use your head on the fly to come up with potential combinations that benefit the situation based off of what cards you have available while not wasting cards that you NEED for certain later plays that you know the enemy deck will try to make. It is much like playing a rogue ever since the fall of the miracle rogue, you have to do stuff like THINK, and not netdeck your entire deck (preferably come up with a new deck concept, but most of the time the core netdeck is where you want to start from).
Now if for some reason you can't do that or don't like running priests when they require the extra effort, then just play an agro shaman and be done with it. If it is because you are on a quest, then try doing that quest in tavern brawl if that week allows you to pick a class, wild as every class has a perfectly viable deck to win up to 5 games to get domination, or try being more fun and making more friends to sacrifice to the RNG Quest gods.
Pretty much this. Priest has a tier 1 deck in the wild format and is doing perfectly fine there due to access to strong class cards like Lightbomb and Dark Cultist.
I won't deny that priest is preforming a bit poorly in the current standard environment but we will be getting the nerfs this week and if that doesn't help than we will most certainly get some strong priest cards in the next expansion which comes out early December (most likely the 8th of December just like Goblins vs Gnomes). At this moment I would defiantly not call priest an unplayable class.

Nope, I still use my old Nzoth Elise priest with tons of removal and only pre Kara cards. Everyone now expects the Rez package.
Exactly, Druid has the worst removal in the game
