Edit: Would be better if the indication that you will have overload next turn also counts for the buff.
It counts. Overloaded crystals count as overloaded on the turn a card with overload is played and on the next turn as well.
Interesting. Do you have any official statement? Or are there any present overload benefitting cards that indicate that this mechanic is working that way?
Just because I understand the wording "while you have overloaded mana crystals" means only the turn after you overload them (i.e. when they actually are overloaded).
I want an official clarification regarding the subject as well.
This is pretty nuts for even shaman. It's really important to get the board early and some decks can out tempo you while you try to do so, this is good for aggro mirrors and cleaning up early board stuff from control.
It does need some more support in the form of overload cards but I think they'll print at least one. thunderhead is a great overload 4 drop, this is a great overload 2 mana card, but you really only have zap to work with because beakered lightning is ass against non odd paladins.
If you curve this on t3 into thunderhead + zap on t4 you can clear most aggro boards completely from an empty board on your side, and that is something the deck just cannot do right now because you don't have the cards to come back on board.
Meh, can’t play it as a 3 attack weapon turn two because you need to overload the next turn, and you obviously can’t overload turn one and still have two mana turn two.
So most of the time it’s a ping weapon for one round and then a single swing of a three attack unless you want/can play two overloads in a row.
seems to situational, and not great for tempo. don’t think it will see much play
I think people are under-valuing how deck-warping this card is. Fulfilling this condition to have a 2 mana 3/3 weapon is the kind of effect a deckbuilder would be willing to bend over backwards to accommodate. We haven't been lacking overload cards, and this helps cover the weakness of dead overload turns by still having the ability to answer the board. And 3 attack that early is incredibly important for dealing with early game boards.
Pre-emptive as this is, I'm going to say this is probably the best Shaman card in the set, easily.
Good controlled 3/2 Weapon that's not that great in aggro because you don't want to be overloaded. Playable for sure
Why wouldn’t you want to be overloaded with Aggro? Historically, the aggro shamans are the ones that use the MOST overload cards because they take the board earlier and can still have reasonable plays with less mana because all of their cards are cheap.
I voted bad since you generally want to have an early game weapon to control the board and remove 2 & 3 drops like fiery war ax of old. But maybe this can see play in a more agressive shaman as a 2 mana 6 dmg over 2 turns with burn spells.
All in all not too great though
I respectfully disagree. Well, yes, I agree that you don't want to drop this and overload right away, but if you need to, this and a Lightning Bolt or Zap! can get the board even in a jiffy. Where I actually see this coming in most handy is how flexible it is. Could be played early game as mentioned, but also a nice mid-late game drop when you can overload with less draw back this seems to give you nice tempo as well.
I think this card probably needs 1 more playable, even cost, overload spell/minion. Zap and Rain of Toads probably isn't enough.
I don't think Rain of Toads is a spell that will be particularly useful with Likkim . A 3 damage weapon has the most impact in the early game. To make Likkim a good competetive card, it needs to have the 3 attack on turns 1-4. And for that, you need 0-2 mana overload cards. In particular 0 mana since you want to use it immediately when equipped (since I learned that the pre-overload apparently also counts for the attack buff).
I mean, since the pre-overload crystals (the ones that indicate the overload for next turn) also count for the buff, the weapon seems to have potential. But when I look at how you can activate it on turn 2 or three, I am not convinced that it will complement the respective spells beneficial. In contrary, it seem mostly redundant in the early game. Sure, later on it will still be a good combo. but a 3 attack weapon is at the strongest on turn 1 and 2 and it will be very difficult to bring it to reasonable use in these turns.
I think Shaman needs a 0 or 2 mana overload minion with good stats or another reasonable non-damage spell to make this card really viable. Maybe even two of these to make it consistent enough for the early game. But I am wrong and a 3/3 weapon for 2 mana is also good enough for turns 4-6. Then it will be played...
Gives you more interaction and things to do in early turns when your mana is overloaded. That's one of the big downsides to playing overload Shaman, if you overload early you often have to pass the following turn which makes you lose all the tempo. When you're overloaded, this is a pre-nerf Fiery War Axe. That seems pretty good to me.
Idd it is effect kinda like spirit claws but its easier for shaman to overload than hit 1in4 or get sd minion on a board (thalnos rly). You can use this on t2 and hit 1hp token and on t3 you have spirit wolfs which give you +2 attack immediately and for the next turn as well. I think this is a good tool for the deck i'm currently using.
Is there any answer right now if this works with overloaded mana crystals next turn?
If yes: quite strong weapon; but not in the early game, since when you play it on turn 2, you almost always have 1/3 weapon. If no: quite weak. Don't think that this is then even playable.
Edit: Would be better if the indication that you will have overload next turn also counts for the buff.

Are you sure about that? I mean, about the first part: "Overloaded crystals count as overloaded on the turn a card with overload is played"? Because I have my doubts about that...
They explain it quite clearly in the reveal video for this card. You equip and cast overload spell, then weapon goes to 3/3 for that turn and the next.
Oh, thank you good sir.

I just think this weapon is strictly better than Spirit Claws but i guess it does not say much considering claws used to cost 1 Mana.
It is much easier to combo it with some Overload cards though i say its a very good card.
Actually I think King’s Defender did see some play. Sometimes running a third or fourth copy of war axe for one more Mana was worth it.

There's Zap! , Lightning Bolt , Voltaic Burst Crushing Hand Beakered Lightning and Forked Lightning . Plus a potential new card. Except voltaic burst, all of these cards are removal themselves so it might often not be necessary to also hit something with the weapon.

For those reasons you said, that's why I said I think more is needed.
You want this in even shaman.
Spirity war axe
Ligma
What a cancerous weapon for aggro shaman
Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!

Spirit Claws but more reliable in current builds of Shaman. I think it'll see play if a deck runs enough Overload.
7/8 Earth Elementals.

spirit claws was good for a while, so this has a chance Especially with Zentimo making spells cool in shaman again
With all the beneficial overload cards coming out lately, I'm hoping that this will make those decks viable.

Yes, watch the reveal video. They explain it quite clearly.
