According to HSReplay, Giggling Inventor is in approximately 1/3 of all decks and has over a 50% win rate. Based on the numbers, this is reaching pre-nerf Corridor Creeper territory.
Unlike Creeper, Giggling Inventor is not an outwardly aggressive minion. It isn't the same type of tempo swing. And it's not going to dome you for 5.

NO, it doesn't need a nerf. Maybe the brain of the people who doesn't know how to play against it, needs a Buff.
I also think Giggling Inventor should cost (6). If anything, because it is NEUTRAL, and it is currently used in pretty much any archetype from Aggro to Combo. It just feels wrong to me.
(6) would grant that Aggro decks do not run it anymore, maybe Tempo decks at most.
As for the other decks, Control and Combo could still make use of it at (6), since they have recovery tools for lategame.

Not to mention it's used as a glue card in niche rogue decks, so if this card was ruined, and lets get this straight.. if it was nerfed it would be ruined. They would also ruin most of the new rogue cards they put out as they would be unplayable in the aggro meta that is hearthstone.

My logic is that the card, primarily a stall card, can be used by Aggro as well, in particular for Aggro vs Aggro matchups.
But have you ever seen Sludge Belcher in Aggro decks? There. That's my point. The card is too much of a jack of all trades.
Time will tell ofc, I am not here crying for a nerf, maybe meta will adjust accordingly (but the long story of tech cards tells us otherwise) ,I am just pointing out an issue, and possible incoming developments.
Blood Knight is now one of the best 3 drops in game bc of giggling. Giggling inventor does not need a nerf imo bc blood knight hard counters the card, while mossy horror also works.

There are two easy answers to inventor: Blood Knight and Mossy Horror. Blood Knight puts a 9/9 on the board and makes the annoy-o-trons a worse saronite chang gang.
You might not think that a one mana nerf is that big of a deal, but look at Bonemare, Spiteful, and Call to Arms. They've all seen next to no play since their nerfs, because that extra mana point can decide games.

6-mana AOE/removal: Avenging Wrath, Blizzard, Holy Fire, Siphon Soul, Meteor, Spreading Plague, Vanish
(Brawl, Volcano, Holy Nova, and Starfall are all 5-mana see play/have seen play however)

Scorp-o-matic, Mass dispell, Despicable Dreadlord, etc... there's too much to list them all without even mentionning the classic AOEs...

Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP
A very small nerf will be welcome, change the minion from 2/1 to 1/1, this little change put a stats penault for the value.
Right now is a 2/1 for 1 mana and x2 1/2 taunt divine shield for 2 manas, it is 3 cards in 1 slot and not any disavantage for that.
