I’m thinking of beginning my journey to 500 wins with hunter. Not being a fan of SMORc at all, I was wondering if there are any viable non-aggressive decks for Hunter in Wild. Even if it’s a total gimmick, I’d consider playing it. So if you have any cool ideas, please share your wisdom about the class ^_^
Spell Hunter with BarnesY'Shaarj, Rage Unbound combo or Mech Hunter: the latter might seem garbage due to the low cost of the deck, but it's really effective with the right mulligan
When I went for 500 hunter wins recently I played a lot of C'thun hunter feat. Emeriss. Not exactly fast or viable and perhaps a gimmick too far, but if you have the cards it is worth getting a couple of wins with it. I also played quite a lot of quest hunter (Feral Gibberer MVP).
If you want a complete change of pace I have more recently made an OTK deck using Knuckles, a lot of hand buffs, Zul'jin to hand buff even more, Emeriss again and a final hoorah with 2x The Beast Within. The deck list is given below if you ever want to try it. Again it would be slow going, but hitting twice with a 40+ attack gorilla is worth doing at some point in one's lifetime.
FWIW - I've played over 3000 games with Reno Hunter since LoE, and the deck is perfectly viable. Last year, DaneHS popularized the deck on his YT channel, and it has seen semi-regular play on ladder ever since - prior to the Even Shaman nerf, Reno Hunter was the most popular non-Kabal class Reno deck. If you fool around with the filters on HSReplays, the win-rate of Hunter decks which include Reno is usually around 51%, which is often comparable to Reno Priest and Reno Mage - currently, it's out-performing the latter, and performing as well as the former.
This is what I use in wild for a control oriented hunter list. You can easily swap a card here or there like flare for a 2nd tracking. I just really dislike being stalled by Ice Block.
Reno Hunter or Spell Hunter are the ones you can try, which are open to new ideas. For example, I play Reno Hunter with Recruit mechanic, Weasels, and Cho for spell-stealing.

Reno Hunter PogChamp
Yogg/Lock and load Hunter
Just add Deathstalker Rexxar to your deck and win any game automatically. No skill needed here.
Control is like Chess - using your given resources wisely.
Aggro is like Russian Roulette - Hope to topdeck the right card/ hope for the opponent to topdeck the wrong card.
Parallels to the IQ of the players of both games are, of course, coincidental ;)

Good luck.
I didn`t really play hunter in wild, but love watching Dane playing his hunter decks. Here`s one of them: https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1047660-wild-play-dead-hunter
If you are looking for fun and viability I think it`s one of the best :)
Thanks for all the replies, guys! Some cool ideas there for sure. As a Dane followe on youtube, I incline towards Reno hunter.
@AngryShuckie your list looks really fun, but unfortunately I lack too much dust for it :P maybe some day!
I'd say Spell Hunter or Deathrattle Hunter.

As for Spell Hunter, I utilize Lock and Load, which brings fun moments.
