Hey guys, this is my take on Highlander Paladin. It's called "Noble", as it doesn't do anything unfair like finishing a quest on turn 4 or summoning 2x 12 mana minions for 6 mana. It's a fair deck, which aims at playing solid cards on curve and overwhelming your opponent during the endgame.
Kangor's Endless Army and Da Undatakah serve this purpose specifically.
The other way to go is to simply play this deck as a midrange one. Archmage Vargoth and Avenging Wrath is often a solid finisher.
Of course, if you're extremely lucky with Prismatic Lens, you can make Vargoth double cast Kangor's Endless Army, which is GG 99% of the time.
As for the start of the game, aim for Call to Adventure to get Finley (50% chance to draw him, since there are only 2x2 drops in the deck) + upgraded hero power on turn 4. Another way is to go for secrets and weapons to disrupt the early turns for your opponent.
Possible Replacements
Cards that I sometimes find awkward to play are:
Bronze Gatekeeper --- good if you topdeck it while having other mechs on the board. If it's just in your hand, not that cool to play proactively (might weaken your Kangor's if cleared immediately).
Faceless Manipulator --- added this one in order to copy big mechs of mine, but in reality it's mostly a reactive card. Sometimes useful, sometimes not.
Your Suggestions
If you're like me and like "fair" decks, and Paladin class specifically, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the deck. Did you enjoy playing the deck, what would you replace etc. etc.?
Yo Beardfasse
Nice deck, took it for a spin in casual, not having The Glass Knight, I slipped in Crystalsmith Kangor, even though it may 'dilute' Call to Adventure somewhat, I found it effective in mid to late game.
Quite agree with you re gatekeeper and faceless. So far it is doing quite well, just 10 more games in casual before it goes to ladder. I feel there are better mechanics for card draw than Hidden Wisdom and swapped it out for Crystology, (thins the smaller minions to bring CTA back to 50% to get Finley if need be). would consider swapping out faceless with Hammer of Wrath as it hasn't come into play in about 12 games, but then the card draw seems smooth and am reluctant to overdraw... Anyways Nice one!!!
Thanks for the feedback, Nulfire! Yes, I considered putting in Kangor instead of Finley (can't say that the upgraded hero power is that good, as you almost always have cards to play on curve). In that case Crystology makes even more sense. The reason I added Hidden Wisdom was mainly to activate Mysterious Blade.
As for Faceless, yeah it's pretty greedy and is a flex slot, you can freely swap it for anything else. Also Wargear is a questionable one for me.
I still farm wins to get golden portrait for Warrior, so haven't played this deck for a while. But once I'm done with Garrosh, I'll optimize the list and update the guide.
