Welcome to the Big Recruit Warrior deck!

A special thanks to the user Darkseeker83 and his YouTube Channel for the awesome gameplay video! Be sure to check it out below! (Note: as of 4/13/20 this deck has been updated from it's previous version. The deck in the video is the original deck string but works and functions exactly the same)

Introduction:

Previously in the past, Big Recruit Warrior has been more or less a joke. With the Descent of Dragons expansion, I got bored and decided to throw together a similar deck just for casual play and for the fun of it. Needless to say, it actually exceeded my expectations. While that may have been the case, it still sucked (as expected), but what matters is it was actually pretty fun to play now and then.

The only thing that a big recruit warrior deck like this has struggled with in the past is early game board control and stalling until it can get some solid minions out. With the new cards for the upcoming expansion, I decided to take what I learned from the last deck and apply it. This time however I made sure to take advantage of a few more spells for early game, and a few really nice synergistic cards from Ashes of the Outlands. So, without further ado, let's get into the guide:

Deck Guide:

Mulligans:

Early Game and Mulligan Explanation:

It's pretty simple really, you want to take advantage of your lower cost spells and damaging cards to stay alive until you can get some bigger minions into play. Cleave and Sword and Board are great cards to get rid of tiny but aggressive minions like Crimson Sigil Runner or Flame Imp. For minions with more health, such as Northshire Cleric or Stonehill Defender, cards like Bladestorm and Kargath Bladefist (which also shuffles in Kargath Prime) provide quick fixes, or help finish off minions previously damaged. During this time, taking advantage of your hero power and cards that gain armor like Iron Hide, Shield Block, and Sword and Board are extremely helpful too. Bulwark of Azzinoth is nice too since it's a 3 cost weapon that can be used early game to prevent damage coming your way, pretty nice for a little bit of stalling until you can get some big boys in play.

Mid Game:

Hopefully by now you have a mulligan Gather Your Party or drawn it. The faster you can start recruiting minions the better. If this isn't an option, minions like Damaged StegotronZilliax, and Mountain Giant (assuming you've accumulated enough cards in your hand to decrease it's cost enough) are effective of enough plays too. Always always always pray for minions like Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, Silver Vanguard, and Scrapyard Colossus or minions like The Lich King to either recruit more minions at the end of your turn/once it dies or to add more play options to your hand. Other good recruitments are walls like Damaged Stegotron (which gets it's full 12 health) or charge/rush minions like Charged Devilsaur or Burly Shovelfist that can attack face/clear out some minions.

Late Game:

Dimensional Ripper is as good of a card in this deck as Meta Knight in Super Smash Bros Brawl. It doesn't recruit minions, it summons copies. Imagine playing this and getting two Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbounds, or two The Lich Kings. Even if it doesn't summon two big players like that you can still get two great minions from this deck. Two full health Damaged Stegotrons, two Charged Devilsaurs, or two Kargath Primes. Woecleaver, an 8-cost 3/3 weapon has insane value too. You can deal damage while recruiting and still have all your mana for other cards. The Boomship is absolutely insane in this situation too. If your hand is a little too full of high cost minions, you can basically throw 3 of them onto the board and give them rush to clear out minions in the way too.

This is an extremely expensive deck! If you don't want to devote a lot of dust for this deck, I will have a lot of suggestions at the bottom. However to have the most fun with this, Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, Woecleaver, and The Boomship are absolutely essential legendaries and the most crucial parts of this deck. Since this is mostly a fun deck, I recommend crafting legendaries that you will find use for in other scenarios (i.e The Lich King you can use in a Hadronox deck or Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound in a Big Priest deck).
