Super swingy, extremly RNG-based cards are bad design competetive scene in mind.
1 of 7 options isn't extremely RNG-based.
And who said Hearthstone is designed with a competitive scene in mind?
I think no one said that? Unless you or someone else did.
What I meant was that if you keep competitive hearthstone scene(eSports) in mind, CARDS(not just tuskar totemic) with swingy, RNG-effects are bad design. I am not claiming this to be their design philosophy, this is just my personal opinion.
I probably should be more clear with my posts in future.
This is silly. Tuskarr is not a problem by itself. The four hero power totems are all terrible results. The non hero power totems are really good results. If you don't like RNG, then this really is the wrong game for you.
There are issues with Shaman (and by issues, I mean Flamewreathed and Thing from Below); but saying Tuskarr is one of them is like saying that Shielded Minibot was the issue with Secret Pally. It was a good card that was part of a strong overall curve that made on-curve games feel impossible to win. Aggro Shaman really isn't any different.

Without tuskarr, mid-range shaman would actually have big weaknesses, today it has none barring zoo. That's how strong the card is.
I do want to say that despite it being the same total stats, Tuskarr Totemic giving only hero power totems would make it flat out worse than a vanilla 3/4. A 3/4 can at least trade with anything with 3 attack and leave you with a 3/1, but with Totemic you'd only be left with a 0/2 (or a 1/1) that can be easily cleared and pose little threat (barring some inconvenience say the taunt totem would give).
Also people seem worried about there being no new totems because of Tuskarr Totemic, but that only be true for the next set. After that it rotates out, and Blizzard's made it pretty clear they don't care about wild (where arguably a higher amount of low quality totems would water down any powerful totems anyways).
It is hilarious how they release this, then 2 years later realize their design mistake and release Wicked Witchdoctor which is hilariously worse.
Hehe, yeah... I chucked a fair bit when I saw that card. the sad part is that it is a strong card, it is just hilariously weak compared to the alternatives for shaman.
Another idiotic need thread. If you get a hero power totem you played a 3 mana 3/2 and a useless body, and if you get a better totem then RNG is with you. What separates professional designers and amateurs like you is that a pro could see this card has an obvious downside: IT SUPER PLAYS INTO A BOARD CLEAR. Aside from that, it is a good card. But nowhere near nerf worthy.
If there is something what is certain, then it is the fact that Blizzard actually will nerf cards (to oblivion) which "tend to limit future card designs", like Warsong Commander for example. And if there comes a time in which the ability of the Totemic poses the same problem (a quite probable situation, unless they decide that there will be no higher-costed totems for like forever), then they will make that card useless.
PRO TIP: Keep every copy of Tuskarr Totemic you get, so that you can cash in lots of dust when the card gets nerfed.
Anyone else see an insane amount of flamewreathed totem spawn with Totemic? I would have thought it was bad luck, but over the past couple months I swear that Flamewreathed comes out MINIMUM 50% of the time. And no, that's not because those are the only ones I remember, it's because it really happens ALL THE TIME. Anyone else see this? Or anyone else see a certain totem spawn more frequently than the others?

No it bloody well doesn't. Half the totems survive all early AoE, and the split protects you from single target removal. Your post makes absolutely zero sense.
As far as i understood brode, they make these cards to asure bad players can beat good players in this game. Because without that they would loose the fun in this game because they stay bad.
To Summ up his show about RNG and Stuff.
RNG is for the baddies and noobs to have moments of false success to make them feel better and purchase packs.
I just wanted to post in the Group therapy salt thread about Tuskarr Totemic when I saw this thread in the most recent ones lol.
I´ve lost a game a couple of minutes ago because some shaman got Tuskarr Totemic into Totem Golem. Classic scenario we all know it. Pretty hard to deal with and often loses you the game but ok.
He then continues to play Brann Bronzebeard the turn after which I could not clear because I used my stuff to deal with the Tuskarr and his buddy from the previous turn. The next turn he plays an other Tuskarr Totemic into a second Totem Golem followed by a Flametongue Totem thanks to Brann Bronzebeard. No surprise that I had to concede there.
Nice card design Blizzard 10/10 for sure. I mean Tuskarr Totemic would be a fairly decent card if it was only able to summon basic totems. You would get a 3/4 with one beneficial effect split across two bodies most of the time or "worst case" 4/3. But the way it is right now is just retarded RNG.
For the person saying no one complained prerotation. We had alot more options to deal with situations......ie. Early taunts and chow. Give us good minions a taunts early and let us battle it out. May if he was 1/3 minion or 1/2. Or maybe mini belcher or more annoytrons.

I dont like the fact that he narrows down the future totem possibilities so much.
At least give it a limit like ''Can summon 2 or less mana totems''

Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
Im just angry because it makes Blizzard unable to make a giant totem card for like 6 mana....

Flamewreathed Faceless should have been a totem imo.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.

Not only badly designed, but actually buffed in standard.
