Just curious. I played some games against me with this new guy and surfed on the forums. So far, I found crazy interactions that might crack the Wild format:
Mage: Three Turn Kill shenanigans by abusing Time Warp
Priest: Big Priest can cast Resurrect spells twice
Shaman: Dane has found Eveyfin Spellstone Shaman that boosts your board like crazy
Druid: Double Recruit ability thanks to Oaken Summons
Maybe other classes have crazy shenanigans with Vargoth, but this is all I can think of. I can't say that I hate this card, but with these combinations, Vargoth goes beyond broken. Maybe his effect should have been "at the start of your turn", rather than "at the end of your turn". What do you think?
Priest and Mage can abuse it, especialy in wild. I run one in thief rogue in off chance that i will steal 1 cost free from amber into double 8 cost minions on turn 5. I bet kingsbance can abuse it to get triple buff with tinkers shar oil and kingsbane
Archmage Vargoth is broken in Priest because Priest is already broken on its own.
Elsewhere he's just a top tier card, but possibly more like a winmore than anything else. (if you get an Everyfin is Awesome, you already lost most of the times, it's not the second one at the end of the turn that actually kills you).
PS: Quest Mage still has to complete the Quest while surviving, and that's the hardest part of the deck, not pulling out the Combo.
No. Speaking of broken in terms of wild has no sense. In standard after rotation it will be mediocre card.
There’s nothing wrong with speaking of broken in terms of wild. Many of us play wild and the Aviana nerf showed that Blizz also is somewhat concerned about power levels in wild. That being said, I doubt anything will be done about it. If anything, they’ll nerf some card in Big Priest or Barnes in general.
With all of your comments, I believe there is nothing to worry about. Still, if Vargoth really goes beyond broken, his effect should be "at the start of your turn", which would be a perfect nerf idea.

By "perfect nerf" I assume you mean completely rendering it useless?
Any counter argument attempts can be referred to Nat Pagle where they will be promptly and irrevocably shot down.

I doubt it will ever be nerfed since it was given for free to every player. I mean, its not impossible, but i think its very unlikely.
Mage: If a Mage ever gets to the point where he can play Time Warp, the game is probably over, anyway. And Vargoth isn’t played until the Time Warp turn. It’s just an alternative to the Antonidas Exodia variant.
Priest: Obviously double resurrect is powerful, but you can’t play Spellstone and Vargoth on the same turn (without a Thaurissian tick), he takes up a spot on your board that you’d rather reserve for a big minion, and he’s a terrible pull from Barnes.
Hunter: Feign death x2 is obviously a powerful play, but you can’t play Vargoth and Kathrena/Cube on the same turn, so you have a turn to kill / silence / whatever. Otherwise feigning death twice on a board of Goblin Bombs or Spider Bombs is strong, but not broken.
Druid: Of all the broken Druid things in wild, double Oaken Summons isn’t one of them.

No, I am not rendering it useless. I am just trying to find fair and safe balance, if at all, Vargoth became broken at one point. And, btw, your argument related to Nat Page is irrelevant. Like, seriously?

It is broken for the priest yes.

Good but not broken. All spells have you talk require that archmage stay on board at least one turn. He is a soft taunt.

Same as Brann, it allows powerful plays the same turn they are played, but if you leave it alive, it becomes a snowball.
For me this card is in the same level of Brann or Zilliax, pretty strong but fair.

I like it in Academic Espionage Rogue :p

If only they would release some new cards and retire some old ones to re-shape the meta. Let's start a petition.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
No!
Always expect the unexpectable!
Just another win more card, nothing special
It enables some strong combos but I don't think it's broken.
My current jam is Vargoth and Avenging Wrath.
Broken AF with Mass Resurrection
...but he does have to stick for that
