I dont know much about the actual game storywise/casual play, but from what I have heard from friends, this is the easiest game ever, barely a graphic improvement from last gen, very colourful game but some bugs (like most games these days) and almost no shadows ingame. This game programming has been the worst since the programmers were inexperienced, duplicating THOUSANDS of files making the actual game be x2 its intended size.
DIN A4 max is actually busted/broken beyond limits, Zmoves & mega evos were broken but understandable to break some stalls, but Dianamax is actually 2x base hp + 3 Z moves combined + many perks (immune to flinch, roar, etc), which turns a dinamaxed poemon into an unstopable train with no brakes.
From the competitive aspect, that I actually play at showdown, this is one of the worst games ever, maybe as bad as gen 5 sand meta.
This is the first time a pokemon game has less pokemons than the last, they actualy cut the number of pokemons from 800+ to half. They also cut items and actual pokemon movements/attacks. Which makes the combats very predictable.
Good points: New attacks, items and abilities which is always nice, mostly from hackmons meta. Although any other pokemon game also did that.
Due to the tremendous backslash received, Blizzard has flinched and backed up in less than 24h. We cant truly say for now how real it is, if its all a smokebomb facade or what would the finl consequences be. A similar situation ocurred to an asian player about a year ago due to his declarations about the Hong Kong- China situation, Blizzard banned him, but due to the negative reviews of the community readmited the player after a month.

Forcing yourself to only play standard is one of the biggest mistakes you can do in this game. F
1
It will end up in wild after year rotation to never be seen again (in standard), just like C'thun.
3
Would it technically work? Yes.
Will it work? In wild meta, no.
2
The more you play it, the more you realise its rolling dice.
