priest kinda lost its win condition in rotation. You used to be able to get a really strong nzoth board and ride that to victory with additional threats like rag and whatever you entombed. Pretty much all other classes got a win condition with their quest while only silence priest really gained anything.
Maybe in a few weeks when people figure out good ways to counter quest rogue priest will become playable again, but currently its pretty bad
Nope. They have some decent looking decks. They certainly aren't currently the top of the meta, but according to our almighty overlords at vicious syndicate, dragon priest has an expected win-rate of over 50% against the field. And there has been plenty of experimentation with silence and various control priests.
The reason Priest never gets pushed too hard into meta is because the Priest cards are extremely sensitive, and have massive potential such as Inner Fire, if they push Priest a little too much Priest would be absolutely unstoppable, for example Humongous Razorleaf was enough to push a trash Priest deck to Tier 1.(Some credit to Bittertide Hydra and Shadow Visions). Purify is basically the worst card in the game Value wise, but is insane with some support.
That's why Priest is never meta, because it is too sensitive, and hard to design cards without worrying about the potential of what could happen.
Reach rank 4 today and don't see one priest in more than 40 games...
The decks I see a lot: Rogue quest and garden, Discardlock, hunter (no quest), warrior pirate and quest.
Shaman and paladin I see only one time.
i dont see paladins druids priest and shamans and i am rank 4
Silence Priest and the value priest with Lyra aren't bad. They can both go to Legend for sure.

Sorry, I got caught up in Garden Rogue and the comeback of Pally. I'll try to help populate the ladder with my priests.

Ehhh Priest shits on Warrior and Hunter
Right now, from rank 18 to rank 3 I faced:
6-1 Priest, 2-2 Paladin, 4-1 Warlock and ..
18-16 Rogue, 19-12 Warrior.
Well done blizz.
I hate murlocs.
Priest is ok, what happened to druid though?
Used to play priest. However it's more fun to 1 mana 5/5 with charge. (kappa)
Not sure if hyped yet.
Dragon Priest is still a thing in standard? What is that sample size of 2 matches lmao.

I've been playing a variation of this deck and it's crazy fun and actually quite effective.
Priest is actually pretty good in wild, just not in standard
Good riddance.
