What iteration of priest can beat a quest rogue that completes her quest in turn 3? Next turn prep into Cavern and 5/5 charge minion. Did blizzard even test play their games I mean com on.
The problem with priest is that he has no buffs at all. The buffs that he does have like Divine Spirit and Inner Fire require that you have both in your hand AND they take up two card slots. That is not even remotely fair, considering every other class has buffs that only require one card. It's total fucking bullshit, but it wouldn't be so bad if priest had an actual draw mechanic that worked. Northshire Cleric is an absolute worthless card that, while it worked well in vanilla, no longer has a place because there is no way to adequately buff her to make use of her.
Priest desperately needs a way to cycle his deck. It's utterly ridiculous when you play against classes like rogue or mage and you have 18 cards left in you rdeck while they have 6. Totally fucking stupid.
Ben Brode and Team 5 need to be fired ASAP because they continue to show their incompetence over and over again. I mean, seriously, little third graders could design a game better than they have.
Sounds like you played a couple of games with Priest, had Northshire die on turn 1, and concluded "Priest sucks." There are a lot of ways to cycle with Northshire (Cleric + Pyro + PWS + Circle has and always will exist), and you don't always just drop Cleric on turn 1, you have to use it strategically. Watch some of Kibler's recent games with Lyra Priest. Speaking of....Lyra is also a great card draw/cycle engine.
The drawback to having zero buffs is having the best mid/late game hero power. Aside from Warrior, no other class can stave off lethal, and aside from Dinomancy Hunter, no other class can use their hero power to make efficient trades and keep the board.
Priest is my main class, bub. I don't play anything but priest, even in its shit state. The northshire combo with pyro and circle of healing require 4 cards to get off. FOUR! That's 4 card slots that could be used for USEFUL minions.
And you just lost all credibility by calling priest's hero power good. It's not good and never has been.
Priest's hero power is better than ever in the current meta. It's only bad when you can't stick minions, which is really easy for priest right now. Being able to value trade repeatedly is bad?

I know this was rhetorical, but it goes back to the priest having no buffs, no card draw, no AoE, no single target removal (the power words are conditional and don't count), and his cards cost too much for what they do. Priest has no high health minions to utilize his worthless hero power, nor does he have any taunts to delay the game to allow him to set up the board. Priest will always be bottom of the barrel trash until his crappy basic and classic set are removed and replaced.

Healing for 2 health on minions is SHIT, ESPECIALLY since other classes have exclusive minions which have high health AND high attack. Plus the other classes have removal that has no conditions, whatsoever - unlike priest, where everything he does and has is conditional. Where are my spells that hit both face and minions? Where are my endless heal spells? Where is my card draw and non-conditional AoE? I mean, only a masochist would play priest because he has literally nothing to work with. If you win, it's because your opponent is experimenting or they suck or you were just lucky. I guess that makes me a full blown masochist because regardless of these huge deficits, I continue to play Priest.
Maybe one day he will be good, but I doubt it because his basic/classic cards are so bloody awful.

So for whoever hit Rank 1-5 or Legend this season with Priest, I guess 100% of their opponents always suck or experiment or they were unlucky..
Priest is not top-tier or OP like Rogue/Warrior, but it is a viable class and doing fine in this meta.
What iteration of priest can beat a quest rogue that completes her quest in turn 3? Next turn prep into Cavern and 5/5 charge minion. Did blizzard even test play their games I mean com on.
None of them. But what iteration of priest can get beaten by a quest rogue if they don't open literally perfect?

Pretty much any since priest is so damn slow at killing their opponent the rogue has the luxury to complete quest and draw into vanish which means you not only lose board but also a flood of 5/5 are coming your way. It's even worse if they prepped it.
Pris is in a better position now than even Dragon pris was in the reno meta (thanks to lack of warlock/jarraxxus). And even miracle rogue isn't that bad of a matchup now due to lack of conceal & Azure drake. The Nuts Bet streamers tournament today showed a lot of players bringing pris. On ladder, however, pris doesn't see much play at high ranks due to the fact that it's a pretty difficult class to use. Most players like to use straightforward or OP decks, and they'll just netdeck the most OP deck to climb ladder. Doesn't mean pris isn't viable. It's easily tier 2 atm.

Slow? What are you talking about? Silence Priest can kill an opponent by turn 5 if they get lucky. Did you even research what the deck does before you made this curious statement?
And I have yet to see a Quest Rogue who wins by turn 3, all his lucky stars have to align somehow for that to be possible.
There are 5 viable Priest archetypes right now, Silence being the best. No, Priest is not dead, Priest has a big influence in this meta.

You are talking about a deck that's less consistent than quest rogue. Turn one my cards are divine spirit, divine spirit, inner fire, PW:Shield Didn't draw any of my minions until turn 5 and by then I am already so behind on board it's auto lose. Sometimes you draw your minions but no silence effect. Multiple times I have faceless shambler in hand and just spells and nothing big enough to make taunt. Not to mention silence priest sucks against control decks and even hunter with deadly shot kills your minion two for one trade. Warrior can just execute or brawl your minions and if you don't kill fast enough the constant taunt and quest hero power will wreck you. And you say priest has big influence in this meta but have you been watching HGG tournament? How many silence priest do you see?
Priest is so fucked right now, it's not even funny. No card draw, no AoE, no decent spells, no taunts, no decent minions. Blizzard just needs to get rid of the class entirely if they are going to continue to give priest this kind of treatment.

Amara is a fucking joke, btw.
Based on what I bolded, you should just stop playing Priest.
Deathrattle Priest is the worst Priest archetype now, learn how to play Dragon/Elemental/Spell Priest with Lyra instead.
Priest is doing fine, many people have played Priest and went to legend or rank 5-1, otherwise.
Priest is actually medicore (but still good in this diverse meta). Most of its decks (Silence Priest, Dragon Priest, Miracle Priest) are Tier 2 (Warrior and Rogue decks are taking the Tier One spot. No surprise, so we can use Tier 2 decks as your average "good" decks). It's doing pretty well if you like to play Priest, and Priest decks are pretty fun to play!

You obviously have not tried the elemental deck with Lyra the Sunshard . Try below deck. It's working wonders for me. And to be honest. If you don't get a deck like this to work, you should take a look at your own gameplay instead of a class as a whole.
All in all I feel you don't need more than 1 AOE, as the board with this deck is very strong.
p.s. I agree on the Amara part. The quests between classes are very, very off balance. The Roque quest is much more powerfull and much easier to complete.

That's a really good deck. But you aren't listening to what I am saying. Priest relies on Neutral minions more than any other class because he has no good minions. He has no taunts, no card draw (northshire is still shit, even in your deck), and no reliable AoE. He needs better EXCLUSIVE cards, not the ones he currently has. Lyra is a great start.
Priest has a really good taunt with a deathrattle this expansion. Also in the dragonsdeck priests has a class taunt. For this deck I don't use them, as they are not needed with the other 4 taunts. Even though Priests class cards are not used as much as other classes, priest currently has at least 3 different types of decks that can be played fairly well. I don't think you can say that for many other classes.
If you think Northire is bad in this deck, think twice. She has amazing potential if you consider all the many heal spells you get from Lyra. And apart from that, you can hide Cleric behind the 4 taunts, which usually gives you several carddraws.
I just really think you are not playing it correctly...

Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.

Silence Priest is competitive and exceedingly fun.

Priest is "always" Tier 2 and never Tier 1, so priest is "great" now.

2. It has 4 taunts!
3. It has 1 AOE, which you can build up to a maximum of 3 with Shadow Visions .

Hit r2 standard this morning beating 3* quest rogue and 2* pirate warrior from r3.
Priest is far from dead.
you are crazy if you think priest is anyhow dead
