posted a message on Nozdormu change wish

Regarding control vs aggro on time issue. I play almost exclusively control decks on both mobile and desktop, right now I'm ranking with Hakkari quest priest. Last expansion I played odd warrior eg to rank 5, and mostly test subject priest up until rank 1. I don't agree with the idea that aggro is always less about thinking than control, depends on the deck. It is a huge difference between pirate warrior of old, and experimenting with a new pirate-rogue. Likewise, there is also a big difference between playing last seasons taunt druid and this season's Da Uundatakah taunt druid. Net decking requires less thinking, and there are also differences within the different net-decks. The idea that playing slow is somewhat more skillful is as misrepresentative as asking someone to name the moons of Jupiter as a predictor of their IQ.

One could propose that this change would promote netdecking, which would be a valid critique, and the bugging out is also relevant in the case that this would not be addressed. Other than that I think it will only promote a more skill-based hierarchy within Hearthstone ranking system, but that is also of course not necessarily what people want. Eg. SC2 died for multiple reasons, but one of them was the lack of accessibility for new and casual players, which is in many ways the polar opposite of Hearthstone.

Personally, I think Nozdormu should be changed to a 10 mana 8/8 with its effect being: Start of Game. The effect in itself does not give any competitive advantage, so the drawback of having a very weak 10 cost card in your deck should more than makeup for the advantage one would sometimes get playing against the "low IQ-high knowledge" slow players. It would still probably not see much play, but could be nice for skilled players to rank up faster.

Alternatively, the effect could be made a battlecry-> for the rest of the game, which would make the card at least somewhat decent.

Attached a super biased poll for the change :P

posted a message on Game destroyed by to long turns punishing high IQ players

    Hi,

I'm enjoying hearthstone less and less because of the incredible long turns of simple plays. It's understandable that you need time for a long Lyra turn, to Miracle with Auctioneer or playing some innovative meme combo, but for the most of the time, people use 30-50 seconds for incredibly easy plays playing net-decks. At this point, I can't play Hearthstone without watching tv or doing something else at the same time, or I'll die of boredom waiting. Add to that a game ranking system who is not based on MMR until you grind to legend, and very few decision cards (In MtG many cards have multiple options each turn to choose between etc), it is a game who becomes less fun as you get better.

Wish they would invent a speed run version like chess, where you would have a total time limit so you would weight how much time to waste each turn. Or possibly make Nozdormu a start of the game permanent, that would be fantastic:) (Though possibly unfair the other way again)

posted a message on Hunter mentality problem?

This is my first expansion being active on forums, even though i've played this game for 2 years. I usually have most the cards and play all the classes.

For this expansion there has been such extraordinarily complaining about the hunter cards/class, without any real reason. 1 epic was printet, To My Side!, that was expected by many to be very bad. Some people though the card had some potential for a fun deck and I even crafted it.

While the card might end up being bad, I do not get the outrage.

Last expansion had epic Glacial Mysteries which was insanely shitty, much worse than To My Side!.

During this year we have also gotten Snowfury Giant, Spectral Pillager, Light's Sorrow and Cryostasis which are at the moment all worse than To My Side!. Some cards are good, some are not, but they all have purpose because of arena, discover, (de)evolve, random summon and special circumstances. Furthermore it's extremely high maintenance to expect and demand that all cards are perfectly balanced while remaining innovative and varied...

Now there is a new tread going on about Deathstalker Rexxar. While I was also a bit disappointed that it didn't use any new beasts, which they might change with next update as far as we know, the tone on the tread was that this was supposed to be expected. There might be numerous balance and workload reasons for why they might have chosen not to include all the new <5 beasts in the hero power of the strongest value card ever printed.

Hunter is probably the class who has, hold on to your seats, gotten the most love from blizzard. This simply because it doesn't cost enormous amounts of $ to create high tier decks. Some of the cheap hunter decks have been extremely strong in the past, and while hunter is not at the top of the latter at the moment, cheap hunter decks still have over 50% winrate.

Personally, and to the point of this tread, I feel like the bad attitude of entitlement destroys the enjoyment of the game for the players that buy into the nonsense. And that we should be better at checking both our own expectancies, but also others, when complaining about cards being printed to weak. Lastly that this sort of pitch fork online mentality might get blizzard to do changes to the game, which is unhealthy for the game and motivates even more entitled mob mentality.

I'll might get some hate for this, but i think it's worth mentioning :)

I think you should have traded into the dragon, and used corrupted seer to keep you taunt.

its not possible for this to be an android app. Mac is something we -want- to do, but its not simple.

Arcaine tracker does screen overlay, with autopicking of the deck you've choosen and opponent tracking. Doesn't find the deck automatically though like innkeeper, and no collection-synch or anything like that. Would think that it should be possible to make an app for android, just not ios, but i know less than Snow about how it works :) Hope you make it for mac, that would be awsome!

posted a message on How is yoir Dungeon run progress going?

I think it's great that they made this mode, but i am a bit disappointed with the difficulty level. I've completed 3 runs now with two mediocre and 1 decent deck, and I am now doing rogue. For me this seems way to easy, after Lich King in last xp i was expecting something that would take at least 4-5 rounds for me to finish an entire 8 boss rund. Only boss who was somewhat challenging was the darkness because of bad draw. The LK had great ai, these bosses are innkeeper level.

Idk, maybe they will increase difficulty / buff ai in the future. I understand that some are struggling with the bosses (probably becouse of non-tactical loot picks), but i think that we should not expect these modes to be over in 1-3 hours of gameplay.

Might just be me thinking this is supposed to be a lasting gamemode not a 9 class run trough adventure.

I only have innkeeper on my work computer, wish they could make it for android and/or mac.. :( Use arcane tracker on android and HStracker on mac, but would have been nice to use the same app, and also only use apps that communicate with this site.

posted a message on Why Paladin is at rock bottom and How we got here

I don't get how someone who only plays one class, and to that extent as-well, thinks he has the ability to conclude that his class is the worst of all the others. Have no one ever heard about fundamental attribution error? While you might be right, your complaints should not hold any credibility as long as you are not coming from an informed position.

Btw, I agree with the others that say its more likely that your tired of paladin, why don't you try another class or worst case; another game?

posted a message on I hate priest (and its my main class)

I understand that razakus priest feels frustrating to play against, just as the quest rogue and quest mage, because you feel like their draws, are more important that both your skill and your own draws. Losing to a combo that you're struggling to stop is always annoying. Losing to OTK/combo feels frustrating even vs extremely skill intensive decks like the old maly-mircale rogue, which was in no way solitaire.

Only decks that I have ever really hated was quest rogue (which is the only arketype i never played even though I pretty much always have every card in standard) and to some extent jade druid from early MSoG (before it became tier 1). Not because these decks where mindless or top-tier, they where not, but because they where auto-win vs certain archetypes limiting deck creation and created extremely boring matchups. Not a huge fan of exodia mage either, but its not comparable to cancer quest rogue.

In MSoG i played mainly Renolock and lost a lot to pirates getting lucky draw or me not drawing reno. While no one likes to lose, I did not see it as a great problem that people played pirate-warrior, it just forced control and midrange players to build and play in a certain way.

I don't think priest is or will be a cancer, razakus priest is a pretty complicated deck to play, and there is a lot of new tools against it. I've beaten razakus priest with bring it on dead mans hand warrior a lot where you can easily get enough armor to be able to live through their velen combo, with my own zoolock and even my tier 4 controllock. All this above rank 5.

I think you're confusing Hunter's Mark with On the Hunt

Haha, yeah true! For some reason i though he was talking about On the Hunt, my bad for presuming without bothering to mouseover!
Talking the real Hunter's Mark, it could possibly be good in combination with Candleshot ironically, but i don't think spellhunter needs a debuff semiremoval over a playable turn 1 card. 2 x Candleshot are the only real 1 drops in this deck (Tracking doesn't count). In general I have always felt that Hunter's Mark does to little for using up a card in a class that has so limited card generation and draw. But I might be wrong.
Edit: changed the word combo to combination to avoid confusion.

I made this one right after release. I don't think any standard spellhunter deck will be especially viable with current cardpool.

That being said, To My Side! is probably a pretty strong card when the condition is met (in-counter to all the rage). Animal companion is a really strong spell at 3 mana, and while doble the cost for doble the effect isn't necessarily what a aggro class wants, its still cheap enough to be great. There is a 2/3 to get a huffercombo, a 4/2 charge + a 4/4 taunt to protect it for 6 mana is really good. Furthermore a (4+1)/2 charge + a 2/4 with an upside is also pretty good. Worst option is (4+1)/4 taunt + 2/4 with an upside, which is fine for 6 mana. The weapon is insane if you can pull of the effect. It doesn't matter if you get 1 or 2 uplayable spells, hunter is usually low on cards lategame, and you will usually play this so you get at least 6 spells for it, thats great value, and could fuel a finish.

Might as well play some Hunter's Mark if Candleshot.
I don't know, feel like Candleshot gives both more control and tempo, since its almost like 3 pings (except can't ignore taunt). Hunter's Mark is by comparison one full on ping (can ignore taunt), and a 1/1 beast which has to do a lot of damage to face, or stop a high damage attack to be better. Hunter's Mark would have been a clearer choice if there was a Crackling Razormaw followup, Kill Command synergy alone is not enough.
