"Evil will be purged!"
- Arthas, right before hitting a Quest Mage in the face.
Yeah, just got me a golden Light's Sorrow! Or I should say, more accurately, just got me 1/4th of The Lich King!
magma rager: the weapon
is this Weapon exist in Wow?
It doesn't, but the art represents Hailstorm.
I opened 36 packs, got 4 epics, 4 times this weapon. Thanks for nothing.
This belongs in a museum.
I see some Blood Knight potenitial here.
Just like Bolvar, IF Divine Shield Paladin does become a thing, this will be in there. There's 2 main problems I see with this card. 1. The mana cost. The 4 slot is already very overcrowded for Paladins and justifying playing this might be hard to do unless there is a lot better synergy to do so. 2. There are a lot of new, potentially powerful weapons and weapon removal is probably going to be very common, especially in the first month or so. This having low attack and 4 durability gives your opponents a couple turns to destroy it before you get full value.
SHIELDS UP red alert for crappy paladin cards
we tgt boys
works great with the new paladin spells summon 6 shielded minibots for 3 mana
A sorrow for an epic slot in paladins
If you're playing a more aggressive divine shield Paladin, then your minions are hard to kill and you're probably winning on board by turn 4. Since you're winning on board, you don't need to immediately get value out of attacking opposing minions with this weapon and you'll be able to increase its value over time. And for those who say the healing from Truesilver Champion is too good to replace it with this, let's not forget that Wickerflame Burnbristle and Corpsetaker can provide plenty of healing while synergizing with this new weapon.
Where I get worried about this weapon is not that it costs too much or that it's "objectively worse" than Truesilver Champion, as many have said here. I'm more concerned about your opponent using weapon counter cards like Harrison Jones and Gluttonous Ooze to turn your investment into massive value for themselves. Particularly with exciting new weapons like Shadowblade and Blood Razor (and maybe even Ice Breaker if Freeze Shaman is a thing), the likelihood that your opponent will be running weapon counters is going to be high.
Alright it looks like shit.
But what really takes the cake is that it's fkin FOUR mana. Just why
Such garbage. Truesilver Champion, from the basic set, is vastly more reliable and a much better weapon overall. I guess this is intended as a Rallying Blade replacement for divine shield decks, but rallying has MUCH better base stats and is a lot easier to control than this card. The closest card I can think of with a similar effect is Bolvar Fordragon which saw (and continues to see) basically no usage.
Badly designed. Instant dust.
It is just a bad card. Paladins have already good weapons for 3 and for 4 mana. I don't think this could be useful in any deck.
On paper it seems ok but in practice it looks too unreliable. I think pallies would still want to use Truesilver Champion because of the heals.
Potentially a strong weapon. This feels like it would be best used when you already have a lot of Divine Shields on the board.
Erm, question: Was it confirmed that it only gets attack when it's equipped, or is it for all lost Divine Shields lost this game? I know it was not mentioned in the card text, but maybe that is the case? If so, then the card (And Bolvar) become much better than they seem right now.
If it's only while equipped or on the board, then yeah, the two are pretty bad.
I think it needs to be equipped. It's text (and new bolvar's) are laid out like Flesheating Ghoul's and that card only gets the attack buff if it's on the field so...Yeah. Also it's 4 mana cost means it not only needs to be okay to see play, it needs to be AMAZING in order to get paladins to throw out a different 4-drop. Paladin's have and have always had a choked 4-drop slot and it baffles me that Blizzard keeps giving Paladin interesting cards, but then makes them four mana thus guaranteeing they'll never be played effectively. At the very least, WHY WOULD YOU RUN THIS WHEN TRUESILVER CHAMPION EXISTS!
You need it equip it first for its effect. That's why it sucks.
