it's intended, no one wants to see Haunted Creeper or Piloted Shredder ever again, you can say that hunters got Infested WolfRat Pack, Kindly Grandmother and all the deathrattle sinergy but tbh, sticky deathrattle should be class restricted, if they want hunter to be the sticky deathrattle class so be it, but no one wants to see sticky deathrattle minions across multiple classes ever again.
edit: if you really want a sticky deathrattle minion just use Harvest Golem
Well I am not asking for sticky minions (some would be nice). I am just curious if this archtype is viable with the amount of low impact deathrattle creatures available for Priest. There are various other deathrattle effects that could be interesting: AoE (better than sgt. Sally), the shuffle a minion into your deck thing like warriors 3/6 taunt deathrattle guy etc. But I may be wrong about all of this and this archtype will be perfectly fine. I guess time will show. :-)
But as far as I'm aware, they never said it was the strongest faction.
Well, I don't think that they would try to make one faction better. The thing is, it was absolutely trash when it was suposed to be balanced. In MSOG we also had the STB/patches, in TGT we had Mysterious Challenger, in BRM we had patron warrior, in GVG we had Dr. Boom and in Naxxramas we had deathrattle hunter. All of this was balancing errors and it may, and probably will, happen again.

Have we had 2 months where a deck isn't broken in Hearthstone yet? Having faith that this expansion will be the one that kills aggro decks that have been rampant since April 2016, seems laughable at best seeing how "good" Team 5 is at balancing this game. I wouldn't be so hard on them if it didn't take them so many months to nerf STB, take years to add 9 deck slots by deleting the default 9, and not moving problem cards like Leeroy Jenkins and Gadgetzan Auctioneer to the hall of fame. We have had 1 Rogue weapon in a year since the Blade Flurry nerf after they opened design space up.
Think deathrattle minions were and will still be pretty solid and reliable. Even if people start including more and more silence cards to deal with adapted minions and deathrattle, knowing that N'Zoth, the Corruptor will still bring them back means late game won't be an issue ; that is, assuming the meta slows down. But anyway, having Spiritsinger Umbra That was my two cents
In terms of Priest, I think the ones we're getting plus what we already have will be adequate to run in Quest/N'Zoth Priest decks, especially with Spiritsinger Umbra, Barnes, and Mirage Caller to pump out extra value.
In terms of Deathrattles in general? Sated Threshadon has some interesting potential in terms of cheating the Shaman Quest with 2 of these + 2 Call in the Finishers. Volatile Elemental might be fantastic in some sort of Elemental Buff Paladin alongside Igneous Elemental, Glacial Shard, and Fire Fly generating momentum and card advantage, something Buffadins sorely need. Eggnapper might be run in Token decks because it's a sticky high attack body.
Be wary of devilsaur egg, it may not look like much but if a warlock plays ravenous pterrodax the next turn, you could be staring at a 5/5 and a potential 7/7. Also umbra can turn your devilsaur eggs into 3 mana 5/5's. I think there are a lot of cards in this expansion that should not be underestimated.
I think that a nzoth priest with small deathratle minions and another synergy like elementals, big dragons or some kind of combo could be good. The deathratle probably wouldn't win the game but they can build you time with the quest in orther to stall in the game.
Here it is my list of priest deathrattle with dragons as a secondary win condition.
I would like to see a N'Zoth Priest but I don't get how that would win against Jade Druid. I play a N'Zoth Priest now and not even with Sylvana and Chillmaw I have a chance against Jade Druid. The 40 HP quest is pointless, it could have been 400 and still would't help when Druid can put a 30/30 Jade on the table for 1 mana. But well, I hope you are right and I'm wrong.
My N'Zoth Deathrattle deck in Wild wins more often than it loses, even in single digit ranks. It will be even stronger with the new Priest Deathrattle cards and I'll figure out a way to incorporate the Quest if I can. By the way, one of the superstars of my deck is, gasp, Herald Volazj. 1/1 Deathrattle minions aren't so bad.
I really want there to be a decent Standard equivalent but I just don't see it. I agree with the OP, the collection just isn't strong enough, especially considering what other classes received this expansion. And 40 Health only buys you time; it's not a win condition.
On the other hand, I see that three of the new Priest minions, including Lyra the Sunshard, are Elementals. Food for thought.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
Herald Volazj might be worth it if the meta slows down enough.
Going double Oracle -> Voljasz will give you a huge hand advantage and will immediately finish the quest if it's not done already. (Granted that's super greedy)

While that's true, it does give you a lot of room to play around while generating your board, and the 8/8 for 5 does give you board control ideally. Especially since you've just been playing deathrattle minions on curve up until that point most likely.

Twilight Guardian is from The Grand Tournament. It will NOT be available in standard after the rotation.

Yes, priest and common death rattles mostly sucks!
Look at Warrior. Millions taunts added this expansion. Look at priest. Fuck up!
Priest got dumpstered this expansion. Simple as that.
