A neutral Legendary minion with subpar stats that destroys the enemy quest is all we need. More often than not it won't be drawn in time; but the mere threat of its existence will shift the game to a healthier state.

posted a message on The Demon Seed is Killing Wild

It's not that there aren't decks in Wild that can counter the strongest questlines. I've beaten The Demon Seed Warlock many times. It's just that Control is totally dead. The archetype can still prevail with a little luck over other fast questlines such as Hunter and Warrior. But as long as fatigue counts as damage that can be redirected by Blightborn Tamsin games just end too quickly.

posted a message on Why there is so much hate on Mercenary mode or on Hearthstone in general?

Why even bring up Slay the Spire if it wasn't at least comparable? Anyway, there's no way I'm spending money on another game. If they had devoted even a fraction of the effort and manpower working on Mercenaries and redirected it to enhance and improve Hearthstone....

And speaking of money, if they don't nerf the living tar out of questlines, especially the Warlock one, I'm going to be playing Hearthstone a lot less and I won't be spending another dime on it. I have already been reduced to completing the quests and that's it.

Heck, Hearthstone is now a button in the program's main menu. It's an afterthought now.

The new gamemode was described as a "slay the spire" -esque rogue like, but what they now presented is raid shadow legends, but just with the cards slapped on a background and then some ugly abilities.

They litterely said multiple times that it's supposed to be a rpg/pve/rogue-lite mode that is NOT comparable to Slay the Spire.

Your memory is faulty. Here's an exact quote:

"It's more in the Slay the Spire vein, just for simplicity’s sake. It's our own take on it - I think that's our MO, we do our own takes on these things, like Battlegrounds was our take on the auto battler genre. And this is our take on a mixture of strategic RPG and combat elements, and also some wrapping of roguelike levels and progression.

Like Slay the Spire, each run – or level - will have a randomly generated series of events – usually regular fights, sometime elite encounters and sometimes not combat at all – for players to work through, with a handful of branching paths to choose between along the way. Each run will culminate in a boss – perhaps King Mukla or King Krush.

If you have Thrall, let's say, Thrall has his abilities, and you unlock them through various different means, you actually unlock abilities through levelling up. Then those abilities themselves can be levelled up to be more powerful, equipment can be obtained through drops in levels, and also some other means as well."

I play Hearthstone online. Magic in-person. I can't afford a third collectible card game. Best of luck to anyone who wants to go all-out in this new and apparently expensive game.

But this time they are right, dude. Constructed is in such a terrible state it's mind-blowing! :( But as I said in other thread, I'm an arena player, so I don't care THAT much. :P

Greetings Old Friend! Yes, constructed in Wild is brutal. Too many questlines being completed in half the time of a normal quest which clearly defies the entire concept of a questline. And the recent nerfs were laughable.

Very, very sad. And the announced nerfs really don't help at all.

posted a message on Pure Control is dead and buried, nerfs wont change that

There is something fundamentally wrong with questlines being completed faster than quests. Surely the germ of the idea was the opposite. I don't know what the best solution is. Obviously questlines need to be slowed down but that's just one aspect of a larger problem. Power creep has run amuck. And the situation is much worse in Wild than it is in Standard. Oh sure, Wild is meant to be wilder. But the questlines are thriving and completing even faster there. Whimper.

posted a message on Absolute garbage expansion

Well, I'm certainly disappointed with the expansion. That all said, it's hard to quit a game that you started playing during Beta. All the time, effort and money spent adds up. While it's virtually impossible to anticipate every combination of cards during testing Blizzard clearly needs to expand its testing group. They conduct almost all their testing in-house; and that needs to change. Remember when they thought Purify was a strong card? A card so bad, with such a niche usefulness, that Ben Brode had to record an entire video apologizing for it.

No one plays Wild. If everyone who played Wild quit the game all at once hearthstone would see like a 2% drop in revenue. People on these forums obsess over Wild like its the biggest game mode in the game when it might barely make it to 4th.

These forums always bring up Wild balance like it matters. It doesn't. Cards are not balanced around Wild and no one cares what the Wild meta is like.

Literally, every Wild game played since the xpac together according to HSReplay does not even come halfway to the number of Standard matches played with Quest Mage alone. Wild makes up maybe 5% of all Constructed games at this point. Stop bringing it up.

The latest data from Firestone actually has Wild at around 12% of all hours played. Still much, much less than Standard. But here's a stat which blew me away. In the China Region 49% of all hours played are in Wild. And I dare say Blizzard cares a lot about that potential market.

The final boss minion for all the questlines needs to be shuffled into the deck. It needs to be harder -- but not impossible -- for these decks to prevail so early.

    Unpopular opinion:

OTK decks and archetypes should should r0t in h3ll!!

Not an unpopular opinion. As an OTK player myself (who ain't touching current standard), I'd say that they're fine - and required - when they're acting as a brake on greedy control, ensuring that those decks don't just devolve into fatigue with no wincons. When they're reliably going off fast? That's unhealthy for the game. When it's something like old school freeze, or even just janky/shaky/bad OTKs, it's very different to current STD.

There does indeed need to be a balance. And right now the needle is pointing way toward quick and/or OTK decks. I realize that perfect balance will never happen; but the situation needs fixing and quickly. I know some players dislike Priest but if Priest is nearly unplayable then the game is in trouble.

Oh, and you have to laugh at the OP. His/her/its first post and all it achieves is to troll the flames of the community.

Well, I started playing the deck in practice mode and now it's working as designed. The time it didn't work I selected Psychic Scream. Perhaps the fact that the card was no longer in play upon resolution had some sort of effect? It's going to be hard to recreate this scenario.
